Remind your friends that we don't need to eat dogs and cats in America and that it is illegal to do so.
Even on farm land, you need special permits to butcher animals of any sort, and a special license to dispose of the remains.
I know there are cultural differences and many cultures eat animals we don't but when you're here, in America, there is some expectancy that you become part of our culture too and that means eating other people's pets when you can easily get food no matter how poor you are.

Your grandfather was on a FARM. Suburbs and city limits are different.

Just answer the fucking question, is there a "US" law against killing and eating a stray dog or a cat?, if you have a chicken coup in your back garden is their a "US" law against killing one for supper?

I remember something like that in the movie, Devil's Advocate. Where that African guy was slaughtering goats in city limits and had charges brought up against him.
I decided to take a closer look at the law regarding pets and I could not come up with anything conclusive. It's like 50% say yes it is illegal and the other 50% say it is legal.
I'm guessing that there isn't a federal law regarding it, but many different sanctions depending on what state you live in.
But nonetheless I believe people who practice it are just sick and twisted retards because:
1) They're lovable animals and have been bred to love humans
2) There is not substantial meat on these particular animals, it's a waste to even consider them a food source.
3) If anyone is desperate for food, they can simply get food stamps or other benefits in different countries that combat poverty.
4) I personally do not know it for a fact, since I never practiced it... BUT from what I have heard throughout my life on the internet is that Pets DO NOT TASTE GOOD! That it is horrible meat and most people couldn't even consume it without vomiting.

Waiting for an answer from a friend of mine who is a butcher by trade. So far what he knows is that self-butchering an animal is dependent by state/county law. He's looking more closely for me now.
And you've come to this conclusion how? Do you have my words exactly how I would respond in such a situation? Have you got any proof where I said I would eat a human instead of horse?

Theres more meat on a dog than there is on a chicken.
What? Not in proportion. A chihuahua for instance has far less meat than any chicken. Chickens are bred to provide high yields of food. Farmers habitually only breed chickens which contain the most meat, the skinny chickens are effectively removed from the genetic pool.
Dogs, on the other hand, are bred for specific, physical characteristics and behaviour and have been for many many centuries.
I've met 8 year olds that can grasp this concept of collectivistic breeding. I trust you have the capacity to do the same.
