I don't think guns are the problem but they're definitely the more lethal weapon--which is problematic when they fall in to the wrong hands.

A British bomb disposal expert has become the second ever female British soldier to die in the Afghanistan conflict.
Captain Lisa Jade Head had just disabled one homemade bomb in an alleyway in Helmand Province, when a second blew up leaving her with horrific injuries.
The 29-year-old, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was flown home and treated at hospital in Birmingham where she died yesterday, the Ministry of Defence said.
Capt Head, of 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment, the Royal Logistic Corps, was deployed to Afghanistan on March 27 this year.
She was based in Patrol Base 4 in the Nahr-e-Saraj District of Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
On Monday, Capt Head went with her team to dispose of an improvised explosive device (IED) found by B Company, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment. After rendering safe the identified IED, she was fatally injured while dealing with a second IED.
Capt Head was a popular and respected member of her parent Regiment and Squadron, and has been described as a 'gifted Troop Commander'.
In June 2008 Sarah Bryant became the first female British soldier killed in Afghanistan.
The 26-year-old, a member of the Intelligence Corps, died along with three SAS men in a roadside bomb attack in Lashkar Gah.
Tonight, Capt Head's family issued a statement saying: 'We wish to say that we are extremely proud of Lisa.
'Lisa always said that she had the best job in the world and she loved every second of it.
'Lisa had two families - us and the Army.
'Lisa had a fantastic life and lived it to the full. No-one was more loved.'
