CONWAY — Police stopped two men, one with ties to Krista Dittmeyer, in the woods around Cranmore late Tuesday night.

One of the men, Richard Acker, 28, is the brother of Kyle Acker, the father of Dittmeyer’s child. Kyle Acker is currently serving a prison sentence in Maine for selling drugs.

I would think so. Just like you were saying earlier, someone wanted that baby safe. This theory of it being the brother of the baby's dad makes perfect sense to me.

Well now, child safe, someone tipped LE off to where she was I bet, and just so happens that bro of baby daddy stopped with friend in area Tues night. Let's see...wonder whose car they impounded? Not a hard guess now!

I'm wondering if she provided the info that put daddy in jail? Ruining someone's drug selling bidness can make enemies!

well i hate to speak ill of the dead...but that girl didn't live with a drug dealer all that time and not know what he was doing. that's what i alluded to when i asked if she were in Conway for a 'purpose'.

lay down with dogs, you get fleas.

a little different story from Union Leader:

authorities continue to gather information about Dittmeyer's whereabouts and movements on Friday night, and that anybody with any information should contact the Conway police or New Hampshire State Police.

Two people to do so were Corey Poland, 22, and Richard Acker, 22. According to the Conway police log, they called police to say they had found a Guess flip flop in the woods around the Cranmore area, where they had done a search of their own. They had hiked up the mountain.

They said Dittmeyer's roommate told them Dittmeyer was wearing Guess flip flops the day she disappeared. They said they left the flip flop where they found it.

When reached by phone, Poland would not comment, but someone using his cell phone called back right away and complained that the Conway Police had not done a thorough job in their initial search. When asked for his name, he hung up.

Krista Dittmeyer Update: Police are back at the pond where Krista Dittmeyer's body was found yesterday. The area is once again blocked off, and the New Hampshire attorney general's office is at the scene. Still no word from the AG on the cause of Dittmeyer's death.

The autopsy is expected to be complete Thursday afternoon. A news conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. with prosecutors in New Hampshire, and the family is expected to make a statement at the same time in Bridgton.

So I guess it wasn't a drowning.

Surprise!

this sounds like a more credible/accurate report.

Conway Daily Sun
CONWAY — The two men who reported finding one of Krista Dittmeyer’s flip-flops in the woods around Cranmore called police and requested an officer to meet them at the base of the mountain, even though it led to one of them getting arrested.

Police have not commented whether the report helped them locate Dittmeyer’s body, but nine hours later she was found in a pond north of the ski lodge.

One of the men, 28-year-old Ricky Acker, has a long history of run-ins with police, from burglary to domestic violence. His brother, Kyle Acker, is the father of Dittmeyer’s 14-month-old daughter.

The other man, Corey Poland, 25, of Portland, has no local criminal history beyond his arrest for willful concealment early Wednesday morning.

Willful concealment is the charge assigned for shoplifting.

Poland placed a call to Conway police just before midnight on Tuesday, from Acker’s cell phone. He told police he and Acker had been searching around Cranmore for Dittmeyer when they found a Guess flip-flop her roommate said Dittmeyer had been wearing the day she disappeared.

An officer met them at the fitness center, where Poland was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant. He was released on $1,000 personal recognisance bail, with one of his bail conditions being that he stays away from the L.L. Bean store.

“We are cooperating with police,” Ricky Acker said on Thursday. “We absolutely called them.” He directed all other questions to the Conway Police Department, which did not respond to calls for comment.

According to the police log the two men told police they were friends of Dittmeyer’s, and they came to look for her. They said they were looking for a fort someone built in the woods when they found the flip-flop. They left the flip-flop where they found it.

Acker's history of arrests dating back to 1999. He served time in New Hampshire prison after pleading guilty to three counts of burglary in 2001, and has been arrested a number of times since for charges including receiving stolen property, simple assault, criminal mischief, criminal trespassing and domestic violence charges.

A version of this story that appeared Thursday did not include that it was the two men themselves who alerted police to their presence at Cranmore Tuesday night.

did anyone read the police report on the flip flop? It states they were looking for a fort that was built by someone named d.e. if they were actually looking for krista why were they looking for the fort? did they think she was in it? why would they think she was in it.. who is this de person i wonder..

The big question for me is how soon is baby daddy out of jail and will his fam file for custody of the baby ASAP? I'll bet the Uncle would be one person who would harm Krista but make sure the baby is left ok and to be found. I'm sure the 'fort' that was built by DE was an excuse to get out to the area where she was placed in the pond because LE should have found her before they did considering the proximity of the body to the car. I think bro in law has some splainin to do.

So it's unreasonable to think that the baby daddy's brother would have been searching for her too?

I've never seen so many judgmental bitches all gathered in one spot the way you all are in Mock. 78

I have a problem that it's people like some of you that are quick to sit on a jury too, you'd never find some of you trying to be a scofflaw when it comes to that and I'd be willing to bet you all are the type that peeks out from behind your curtains to see who is visiting your neighbors too.

No ma'am. I'm the type of person who shuts off all the lights and pretends to not be home so I don't have to bother. I just think it's too coincidental about the flip flop and their call. I think they would want the body found quickly in relation to custody because Dad does have more of a say when Mom is passed. God rest her soul. I don't know why I thought that there was snow on the ground (had not seen much local tv footage) but since there isn't what a shame she was so close to her car and LE didn't find her. I'm the first to say I'm wrong when I'm wrong and if BIL was just doing good I will apologize. I wouldn't sit on a jury after reading/watching all media about a case either. I'm in FL so you wouldn't want me on Casey's jury. Well, doesn't matter that I'm in FL I thought she was guilty the very day we heard the child was missing for a month without the bitch calling LE and alerting fam.

i feel like its right to be suspicious of the boyfriends brother and friend, but i feel like they know way more about the situation and they actually were helping judging by their information being provided to police. wasnt there comments on facebook from the grandmother early on saying someone had been trying to scare krista before all of this happened? i wonder if any of this has anything to do with the boyfriends activities... could be all drug related? Maybe that is why the boyfreinds brother jumped so quickly to help, maybe they know a lot more about what happened ..maybe there is ongoing drrama?? Is there a link anywhere to the grandmothers facebook?
