i'm wondering if AG is waiting for toxicology before upgrading charges. if she died of an OD it could keep it at second-degree. or less. just speculating. better to not overcharge at the outset.

i was waiting for this connection to baby-daddy:
According to the prosecution, Petelis is an associate of the father of Dittmeyer's child who is currently serving a prison sentence in Maine. Petelis was to serve as Dittmeyer's protector in furtherance of an illicit drug business, but instead allegedly conspired with Ferguson and Papile to rob her. The prosecutor also would not comment on the type of drugs involved or the amount of cash and drugs allegedly taken from Dittmeyer. Petelis had attempted suicide earlier in the week

her mother was shocked? she knew baby-daddy was in prison for drug dealing. of course she didn't deserve to be murdered.
lay down with dogs... the baby has no parents at this time, and we can only hope baby-daddy doesn't get custody when he is released. someday that baby is going to look up her story. how she was dragged around on drug deals. Boston Herald Krista Dittmeyer’s grief-stricken mother shook with rage at seeing her daughter’s alleged killer and his cohorts in court Wednesday, but also trembled upon learning of the darker side to the beautiful young waitress and single mom from Maine, according to a family friend. “I think it was just a shock to her. She had no idea,” Kathryn Pratt said of Lanell Shackley, 38, of Bridgton, Maine, the day after comforting the bereaved mom in a New Hampshire courtroom as prosecutors divulged her 20-year-old daughter was the victim of deadly plot to rob her of drugs and cash. “This is all a shock to her.” Pratt said Shackley had never met Michael Petelis, the 28-year-old Ossipee, N.H., man who prosecutors said pledged to be Dittmeyer’s “protector” while her boyfriend served time in jail on a drug rap, but instead set her up for robbery. Authorities allege Petelis lured Dittmeyer to his apartment where his pal, Anthony Papile, allegedly bashed her repeatedly in the head with a rubber mallet. mother, in stripes:

OSSIPEE, N.H. — Kyle Acker, the father of Krista Dittmeyer's child, is scheduled to be arraigned on drug charges this week in Carroll County Superior Court.
But it's not expected that Acker, 26, will be present at the proceeding Wednesday because he is serving a two-year sentence for drug trafficking in Maine. It's expected that a warrant will be issued for his arrest and a detainer will be lodged to let authorities in Maine know he is wanted in New Hampshire. Acker is accused of selling cocaine to a confidential informant in Conway on Oct. 5 and Nov. 3 of last year. A grand jury indicted him last month on two counts of selling less than a half-ounce of cocaine. Assistant County Attorney Stephen Murray said after the warrant is issued and the detainer lodged, Acker could request extradition to New Hampshire or the prosecutor could request extradition. Acker was arrested in Maine in June after police found 15 grams of cocaine, 2 ounces of marijuana and a 9 mm handgun in the apartment he shared with Dittmeyer in South Portland, Maine. full article http://www.pressherald.com/news/Dittmeye...shire.html

Anthony Papile looks back at his family after being sentenced to 50 years in prison today in Carroll County Superior court, in Ossipee, N.H. after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the disappearance and death of 20-year-old Krista Dittmeyer. OSSIPEE, N.H. — A New Hampshire man was sentenced to 50 years in prison today after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the disappearance and death last year of a Maine mother, whose 14-month-old baby was found abandoned in her car. "I can’t tell you how truly sorry I am for what I’ve done," Anthony Papile said in Carroll County court. "I stand here a broken-hearted and sorry man. I’m going to live with the pain and the shame of being a monster in their lives. I don’t ask forgiveness because I don’t deserve it." Papile, of Ossipee, pleaded guilty in the death of 20-year-old Krista Dittmeyer of Portland, Maine. She was found in the Cranmore Mountain ski area’s snowmaking pond in New Hampshire in April 2011. The cause of death was prolonged cold water submersion. Dittmeyer’s car was found idling in the ski area’s parking lot with her baby girl unharmed inside. Prosecutor Jane Young said Papile left the heat on and the lights flashing with the hope that someone would find the child. Dittmeyer’s body was found four days later in the pond, which Papile, a former ski area employee, had helped build. "She was the most kind and loving mom," Dittmeyer’s mother, Lanell Shackley, said tearfully. "That day in April, Anthony Papile took away a daughter, a sister, a mother and a kind and loving friend." Shackley is caring for Dittmeyer’s daughter, now 2 years old. Prosecutors said Dittmeyer was lured to a friend’s apartment and clubbed three times in the head by Papile. They said he plotted to steal drugs and money from her. Prosecutors said Papile and the friend, Michael Petelis of Ossipee, bound Dittmeyer with duct tape and put her in the trunk of her car before heading to the ski area. Prosecutors said another man, Trevor Ferguson of Tamworth, agreed to give Papile a ride home from the ski area in exchange for money and drugs. Both Petelis and Ferguson were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Papile’s sentence could be cut short by about seven years if he earns his high school diploma and complete other educational courses in prison. video http://landing.newsinc.com/shared/video....D=23627360 |
