i think your feeling of unease Duchess, is because we all know there will be some form of retaliation and we know not where or when.

I am concerned about that.

And what actions, on the part of Americans, will prevent this type of retaliation?

None. I think as soon as we shot their "spiritual leader" we exposed ourselves to that risk--but I wouldn't take it back at all.

And, Duch, what exactly 'is to come' in your humble opinion?

Are you kiddin' me? What the hell do I know?

So..who said he shouldn't have been killed because of what could happen? Hmmm?

I'll wager that it will include some person or people blowing themselves up in to little, tiny pieces.

First smile I've had all day. Smiley_emoticons_wink

I'm very humble, I know life can change in an instant...I'm just humbly mouthy. I know that's not a word, don't jump me.

Go back and read a few of the posts. Some expressed the sentiment of 'holy shit', now we've got to wait for the other shoe to drop.

We can't let them dictate to us. Is it potentially scary? Sure, it could be. But, it's their way of life or ours.

I also think we give 'them' a little too much credit. I'm hoping the death of Bin Laden actually did some damage to their finances. Nothing gets done without money.

I also firmly believe that our intelligence, and that of our European allies, is pretty damned good. At least a whole lot better than it was 10 years ago.

A pacifist approach to terrorism is a losing plan. We started in the right direction (a little too late) after 9/11, and, I'm very proud of Obama's focus on getting Bin Laden.

Americans abroad are being cautioned by our State Dept., which is nothing unusual. a reminder to be extra vigilant as it were.
also, some police depts. have gone on high alert. precautionary of course.

my dept. went on high alert right after 9/11, we buttoned down to the nth degree, mail wasn't even delivered to our jail and the Sheriff offices were locked down. no packages allowed either.

I've already read the entire thread & no one is expressing he shouldn't have been taken out because of the potential for repercussion. I'm not seeing that at all.

Yeah some people expressed concern about what might happen next but nobody questioned the legitimacy of taking down Bin Laden like the terrorist fuckhead he was (well accept dick but then dick is a retarded anti-Obama loony).

I'm glad that Obama set his sights on getting Bin Laden, George Dubya couldn't have given a fuck.

The black ops/Intelligence way of doing things is the way foward not the invasion and occupation of whole countries.

Do it the way Mossad did with the Munich terrorists, all executed covertly, no collateral damage.

Absolutely agree. Special Forces, Navy Seals, etc. The new way of doing business.

If you don't have a 'static' enemy to fight, you better have commandos that can go global in less than 24 hours in order to 'take out' a target.

IMO, Afghanistan and Iraq can't end soon enough. Soldiers seem to be there as fodder for enemy IED's.

Have a strong naval presence at all times, with plenty of drones and mix in some cruise missles. Should be a recipe for success.

Then the parties and street celebrations are a bonus!

I say, "More outrageous displays of frivolity and deliberate lack of respect."

If we're fucked, let the folks at least have some fun and refuse to mope and be scared.

Wasn't the band playing when the Titantic went down?

Stopping the music didn't prevent the inevitable.

MI5 and MI6 have stopped quite a few potential attacks in the UK from ever happening.

The Force Reconnaissance Regiment in the UK are also involved now with counter terrorism, they are a special forces unit that shoot first and ask questions later. They have a fearsome reputation in Northern Ireland where numerous IRA members began turning up dead in fields with a bullet in their skull.

This is why I don't have a problem with capital punishment and the potential of an innocent being put to death.

Its become clear why he was buried at sea.

The Navy Seals that took him out took his body back to their base, an aircraft carrier, in order to make sure the body was disposed of the correct Muslim way (within 24 hours) the body was washed and dumped into the sea.

Where the fuck else were they supposed to get rid of him?, they are on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the sea ffs.

Maybe returned to his family or fiends strapped to a launched Tomahawk missle? hah

I know . . . I'm a Monday morning quarterback.

I think the administration had some concern over 'burying' him at sea. What would the Muslim world think, etc. I'm sure the U.S. and Allies were certain they did NOT want some sort of shrine being erected in his name, however.

I haven't actually caught much of the European reaction or the Arab world's take on this. What have you seen/heard over there?

Absolutely! FUCK THEM! They're goal is to kill Americans, Brits, Germans, French, etc., anyone who lives the 'Western' lifestyle, and doesn't obey Sharia Law.
