Yeah, I'm going to vote no on 30 as well. I'm going to vote yes to abolish the death penalty in California. How did you vote on that one? Also probably yes on the 3 strikes measure...with some reservations.

I think my husband and I may well cancel each other out on the Presidential vote. I'm STILL slightly undecided but I'm leaning towards Romney and my husband voted for Obama. Fuck it. Maybe I'll just vote for Roseanne Barr.

I just read this article from The Economist. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Obama (far from) but they're endorsing the devil they know...

Well, I did my doody and dropped off my ballot. I wanted to get it in before we start getting results from the east coast.

Me too. I'm terribly apathetic about who wins this one. I'm more interested in local and statewide measures this year.

I will be voting after I get off work. My husband voted at 6 am, and said the line is ridiculously long. I'm afraid that the election process in my neighborhood will be as jaded as it was four years ago. I have NEVER seen more than 5 or so "minorities" in our polling place at any time...until the last Presidential election. Several of them said they didn't even know his policies, they were voting for him because he's black. First of all, isn't he only "half-black"? I waited for over four hours to vote that time...and I wonder if it will be the same in 90 minutes when I leave.

Feels kinda weird having discussed/debated the federal choices and issues for the 2012 election with you and everyone at Mock for over a year; and now it's all done. I truly got a lot out of the exchanges in this thread.

Locally, I voted no on abolishing the death penalty, no on the 3 strikes measure (and no on Prop 30).

10 years ago, I may have voted differently on every single one of the local measures, along with the Presidential candidate. I was thinking about that as I reviewed the literature again late last night - how much experience and circumstances have changed my perspective over the course of a decade.

We've had this discussion before; we're not quite in agreement on what's at the heart of the matter (or even the financial aspect of it).

My polling report:
I went at about 2pm today and the line was out the door and down the steps. I have never seen it that long. The way its done is there are lines for everyone according to the first letter of your last name not sure if everyone has to do that. So they had a place where people could register if they had not yet but when they were done did they go to tthe back of the line? Nope because they were stupid and waited they got to "merge" into the incoming line of about 100 people. Throughout the entire line there are signs that say you must have I.D. well you guessed it some waited the entire line and had no I.D. so they got kicked off.
Me and my wife were getting close to the part where we got to vote and in comes some dummy with a guy to the front of the line because he had to go home to get his I.D. the lady asked my wife if he could go in front of her. Well she says. Listen throughout the line there are signs saying you need ID if he was to stupid to read them he has to go behind me, thats where I was so she tries to stick him in front of me. I look at them and said hey I think hes an idiot too, and stuck my thumb out meaning behind me buster. The lady behind me sticks her thumb out and says nope.......he went about 4 people before another idiot let him in.
The thing I noticed is that they were running out of red chips those are round things like checkers that they give you so they know what ballot to give you. Red pub blue dem. I voted for 3-4 dems and the rest pubs. I also voted to make it a constitutional ammendment to outlaw the ability to create a sales tax in my state.
I ended up getting out of there at 4;30 2 hrs of waiting, I never went back to work.
Sam Adams octoberfest beer is pretty freakin good stuff also.

Well judging from the last 4 years she's right, "he" promised change, and change he did. "O"hood took a page out of Robin's book, and takes from the "have's" and gives to the "have not's"!
