And I'm sure Ms JCrew dropped her little cutie off at school right after the photo shoot.

Children that grow up homosexual do so because of nurture issues (usually the result of some failure on the part of the mother). Parents who have, for example, one child who grows up to be heterosexual and another who grows up homosexual clearly allowed the homosexual child free access to stuff that made them gay (like pink nail polish where boys are concerned).

Here's your post quack pot,

Quote:I was totally being sarcastic (and apparently didn't communicate that well enough). I think sexual orientation is absolutely nature/not nurture. I was just having fun with Dick's outdated mentality.

and here is the disclaimer.

Apparently you think that pink toenails on a boy would have no adverse affect and it's just a dickism.

send your kid to school with pink toenails and make sure he knows that if he thinks it's fucked up that you tell him his ideas are outdated and fucked up.

otherwise, think about your obvious contradiction, that pink toe nails on boys is fucked up and that it can have very adverse affects and is opposed to nature, and come back and kiss my ass.

Here you go. This Mom wrote a book about her son that likes fashion and pink stuff and girly stuff.

My Princess BoyTM is a nonfiction picture book about acceptance. It tells the tale of a 4-year-old boy who happily expresses his authentic self by enjoying "traditional girl" things like jewelry, sparkles or anything pink. It is designed to start and continue a dialogue about unconditional friendship and teaches children -- and adults -- how to accept and support children for who they are and how they wish to look.

How fucking nice, I bet this stupid bitch is single, because thinking like that would be grounds for a divorce in my house.

I'll be happy if I never hear "pink toenails" again. I think sending your son to school with a bow in his hair opens your child up to teasing (which is an adverse affect). For that reason, I think it's a bad idea. I don't believe, however, that it's going to make him gay.

At some point, a boy who shows an inordinate amount of interest in wearing feminine clothing may in fact be gay (or transgender). But he was born that way IMO.

Thanks for admitting that nurture can fuck up a kid, which was my premise from the start.

were you born and idiot or did your mom make you into one as you grew up?

You have to realise that a person cannot make a sweeping statement like a bow in the hair or pink toenails won't make a boy gay, because it's possible that it could cause very conflicting gender roles do you get it now?

I think after a certain age, a boy who WANTS to wear a bow in his hair is already testing the waters of his sexual orientation or gender. The simple fact that he wants to do that is indicative--the bow didn't make him do it.

That's so wrong. Jeezus, did his mom really trot him out onto a national stage like Dateline dressed like that? I wouldn't have cared what that kid "wanted", I think THAT'S ridiculous.

Do you think 4 or 6 year old boys have that much comprehension of the ick factor, and were not even getting into the sexual orientation part of the question yet?

The kid has been raised to not know what the fuck he is? these parents need to be jailed for child abuse.

what she did was effectively let him become an object of ridicule and derision in a national venue. tell me that won't ultimately cause him pain and years of therapy. dumb cow. in proving her point and selling her book, she has probably done him irreparable harm.

Some parents think letting their children do anything they want is the right thing to do which is retarded.

The painting toenails stuff I found a bit silly to be honest and the furore over it a bit pathetic.

The kid in the pink tutu is ridiculous though, how fucked up is he going to be when he grows up?

No, I don't which is why if my son had wanted to wear something outrageously feminine out in public, I wouldn't have allowed it (except the time when he was around 5 and jokingly put on his sister's bathing suit and laughed himself silly). But by the time they're in 3rd to 4th grade, there is definitely a social order. There are cool kids, weird kids, and even kids that are starting to get called "gay". If your child at that age (and older) still wants to throw aside all the social norms and wear clothing that is inappropriate for their gender, I think you have to wonder if maybe they are gay. I'm not saying that it's okay to say "oh yeah, Joe, go ahead and wear that dress" because the other kids are going to be merciless but I think it is time to start considering the possibility that your child might not be destined to be 100% heterosexual. Hell, maybe he would be mostly hetero but then one day his wife will find him trying on her bra and undies. I dunno.

I agree with you that parading your kids around in inappropriate clothing is wrong and yeah, ick. And I'll actually give you this--if there are parents out there who are shoving this type of thing down their kids throats (i.e., I don't CARE if you want to wear the Spiderman underwear, you're wearing the Barbie underwear, dammit), that could definitely cause the kid some confusion. But I tend to believe that 99.9% of parents are not out there trying to reshape their kids in to some version opposite of their natural gender.

He should come close to how fucked up you are OP, pink toenails and that dress are the same fucking thing moron.
They are both confusing and both opposed to the correct gender of the kid, if the kid grows up and finds being gay to be an irresistable thing , so be it, but fucking with their gender by a parent while they are forming an identiy is fucked up beyond compare.

Painting your sons toenails for a laugh to advertise your business is not the same as letting your son prance around on national TV in a pink tutu you dribbling hick mong.

Most proper transvestites are heterosexual anyway, (I'm not talking gay drag queens here), why would someone who fancies men get a sexual thrill from trying to look like a woman?

Eddie Izzard is a prime example.
