What the hell is Grover for that matter? Those are the creepiest Muppets of all time. Gonzo the chicken fucker Grover the Pedo Please don't let that single older man down the street with all the stuffed animals babysit for you. Your creep-radar is off.

Puppeteer Jerry Nelson, famous for lending his voice to Muppets on “Sesame Street,” “The Muppet Show” and “Fraggle Rock,” died Thursday, according to People. He was 78. The cast and crew of “Sesame Street,” and the staff of Sesame Workshop, released the following statement in memoriam: “A member of the ‘Sesame Street’ family for more than 40 years, [Nelson] will forever be in our hearts and remembered for the artistry in his puppetry, his music, and the laughter he brought to children worldwide…” Nelson is, perhaps, best recognized as the voice of Count von Count, a friendly vampire with an unmistakable laugh and an affinity for numbers videos http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/24/...?hpt=hp_t2

Cookie Monster and ELMO!!
My oldest loved Elmo when he was little. He has a bazillion Elmo's. His room was decorated in Elmo. He even had one that was as big as he was and he used to carry it around all the time. I have a pic of him at the lake house using Grandma's big vacuum and carrying the big Elmo at the same time. He used to love vacuum's too. Too bad he got over that.

Americans of a certain age who grew up on the Muppets often adore the Swedish Chef. He is a touchstone of sorts, we can hear his voice in our minds, we can repeat the gibberish-sounding words and phrases he says to one another and know precisely what we are speaking of. It takes us back to childhood! But many actual Swedes hate the dude, or, really, really dislike him. After all, he's a stereotype, possibly offensive, certainly bumbling, and probably not even Swedish. full story: http://www.theatlanticwire.com/entertain...ong/56278/

On the kid show it was Ernie and Oscar. On the primetime show it was Dr Teef or Animal. As I get older though Statler and Waldorf have tremendous appeal...

Strange enough, the older I get, the more I love Captain Link Hogthrob.
