When an engagement is broken {by her} should she return her awesome diamond?

Yes. Unless he cheated on her or abused her. The she should keep it. If she just changed her mind, then the right thing to do would be to return it.

I doubt I'd want it back. I'd never be able to give it to anyone else anyway...

You could sell it and buy a Russian bride online.

Yeah...I guess there's that. But I don't care much for Vodka either...

People scorned me when I buried my wife with her rings. I was astounded...who the fuck takes a dead woman's rings from her?

They are idiots. Of course she should have been buried with her rings, they are a token of your love for her and she had EVERY right to take them with her.

Fuckin' people. 78

If the couple views marraige as a contract (offer, acceptance and all that) - give it back.

Homo couples - this is a tough one.

Where do you live? Better pick a gay friendly state and you'll have a shot in civil court to get it back from the intended "bride".

And Crash . . . fuck those vultures!

You did right in my book.

It should have been a match made in heaven - a Dallas cowboy proposing to a former Miss Texas.

But for wide receiver Roy Williams the fairytale engagement has ended in a court battle after Brooke Daniels spurned his advances and refused to hand back an $76,000 ring, according to court documents.

Williams sent the ring along with $5000, a baseball and a pre recorded marriage proposal after Miss Daniels asked for the money to pay off 'school and dental bills'.

The ring and proposal were sent just before Valentine's Day, but after the refusal Williams says he has repeatedly asked for it back.

In an affidavit, Williams said that after repeated requests Miss Daniels had claimed the ring was lost.

He then reported the loss to his insurance company, who investigated what had happened to the ring.

The inquiry revealed that the ring was not lost - but was instead with Miss Daniels’ father Michael.

Greedy fuckers that wanted the rings for themself? I scorn the assholes that scorned you. Jesus Christ, I can't believe people would stoop that low.

I think if the woman ends the engagement, she should return the ring. It's the right thing to do. If he cheated, she can throw it at him and hopefully hit him right in the eye with it, but I'd still give the damn ring back. It's a pride thing.

That's so sad. (First time I've been exposed to any of your personal history.)

That's why I think humans will find a way to be OK. I read that and felt for you. No, I'm not sending nudes, so don't get carried away.

Is jewelry any different than the actual engagement ring? Once something is given to you, it is yours. Or is an engagement ring more of a symbol of the relationship ~ No relationship, no ring? I have some nice pieces I had to fuck really well for. If you can't take back the fuck, you can't take back the jewelry.

I'm not a ring keeper, but I will keep bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. I'm middle aged now, so I expect to get some broaches in the future...
