if that person can join for any reason then the members in like are free to challenge the motives of the new member and excoriate them until they cry.

In fact if you take a serious look , I do not say any of the newbies should not be made members, all I have ever lobbied for was a little longer in the newbie forum, and that the criteria for fast tracking is visable to anyone not logged in.

No, the criteria for fast tracking new Members is not visible to anyone not logged in. The newbie forum is a private forum.

The only reason we still have a newbie forum is because I haven't had the time to do what I need to do to get rid of it. I'm not into making people jump through hoops in order to gain entrance. The crime people get in quickly but it doesn't keep them out of Mock as a whole. They go where they want, what makes them better than any other newbie? Nothing, that's what. What do you mean login/logout? Your issue was that people could see how to get fast tracked before they joined, they cannot.

It's way more than a button click, Dick. LC & I still need to maintain control over certain areas so a new user group needs to be created, registration & rules need to be updated and there are a couple other things that need to happen first. i don't totally disagree with Trixie about the fact the parents should have been watching the little girl....HOWEVER - the child's 5 year old brother was riding bikes with her & they live in a small town, small neighborhood, on a dead end street.
it's NOT their fault that a stalking, child napping monster was watching her every move. it's not something i do but i do not blame them for what happened.
he just saw an opportunity & grabbed it.
is her death not enough punishment for them not watching her?

So I'm guessing you have read EVERY news feed on this case...and, you have went after everyone who has made the same comment as Trixie did ( and there are sure to be THOUSANDS by now). You've done that right? I'm willing to bet that everyone had the same thought as soon as we found out she was 3 yrs old. I know it crossed my mind immediately, as in..."why the fuck would a 3 year old be outside by herself"...yes, that is exactly what went through my mind. On the other hand, we all also have compassion for these parents, I believe. They made a bad decision, and they will punish themselves for life over that decision. That is more than enough punishment IMO...I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
