story starting to get a little clearer. i doubt she'll hurt him.
Port Orange investigators are looking for a woman they say may have snatched her grandson from his aunt's house in the Sunset Cove subdivision, police said.
Capt. Frank Surmaczewicz said the youngster -- 5-year-old Elijah Holbin-Hudson -- was likely taken by his maternal grandmother, 49-year-old Laurine Sue Arnold. The latter, whom police have not been able to contact, has a home in Spring Hill, Surmaczewicz said.
Police said Michigan authorities, through the Florida Department of Children & Families, placed Elijah in his aunt's custody. Elijah is initially from Michigan, police said.
Detectives believe Arnold is driving a black 1994 Plymouth, Florida license plate number AJV-N60.
Anyone with information is asked to call Port Orange police, 386-756-7400.

The boy's aunt called police Monday after Arnold showed up to visit with him. Investigators have not determined why Arnold is not supposed to have contact with her grandson, Surmaczewicz said. because she's a space cadet? post 4
The woman may have entered the home through an unlocked door Tuesday, Surmaczewicz said. A neighbor reported seeing a car in the area that matched the description of Arnold's black Plymouth Duster.
The Florida license plate on the car is AJV N60.
An Amber Alert was not issued because there is no direct evidence showing an abduction and/or kidnapping occurred, Surmaczewicz said.
No other details about the case have been released.
Anyone with information can contact the Port Orange Police Department at 386-756-7400.
Police said the back door of the Port Orange home was unsecured.
“Someone would have had to climb over fence then gone through the rear door of the residence in order to get the little 5-year-old and then leave the residence,” Surmaczewicz said.
Detectives said Elijah’s aunt also believes her sister took him.
“I think the mere fact that he is a family member and the maternal grandmother believes that the child would be better off with her than in the current whereabouts,” Surmaczewicz said.

Hummm...Then, what do you call a child being "snatched" from the home? family or not. That child was not in the grandmother's care.
