I've got mixed feelings on this. I can see the good and the potential abuse of it.

What are the mixed feelings on this? Without question I think it sucks. How about a right to privacy?

Don't get caught texting and driving.

Do they need a warrant to use it?

It's outrageous! I'd try to smash my BlackBerry before I'd ever let that happen. It's none of their business.

Privacy rights were the first thing I thought of when I seen it. My initial reaction was "Holy shit! This is wrong." After reading the article and calming down, I understand how it could be used in investigations. I don't agree with it being used on routine traffic stops though. But as the article states, unless they(LE or government) have a search warrant, they can't get your cell information unless you voluntarily give them the phone. The device has great potential for good and bad. Here's hoping that more good and solved crimes come out of the use of it than invasion of privacy issues.

I actually considered that, Maggotyboo & I thought when I'm seen getting into my handbag there might be a chance I'd get a bullet for effort.
