biggest story in town and not one of those ridiculous inept TV stations or online news outlets streamed the presser:
WV Metro News:
The search for three-year-old Aliayah Lunsford in Lewis County is over from a volunteer perspective. Federal authorities say they now consider her Sept. 24 disappearance a crime.
FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen said during a media briefing Monday afternoon they are no longer considering the possibility that the young girl walked away from her home.
...
Killeen says Lunsford was either a victim of a homicide, abduction or a possible concealment.
Killeen says investigators have a "small universe" of persons of interest.

I find the word "concealment" odd. Any thoughts on why they would say that?

It is odd, isn't that a term usually used in fraud cases?
Also a "small universe of persons of interest" do you think that means there are quite a few people they think could be involved?
Anybody think this case sounds like it will be coming to a conclusion?

FROM FB GROUP... the admin went to the press conference. This was what she said in addition to what reports are coming out...
Lewis Co. Info,News & Talk... "Today the FBI agent would not comment on whether the other children were removed from the house, or confirm that Aliayah's mother has an attorney. He did say that they got all of the evidence they needed out of the house to show that Aliayah did not voluntarily leave it."

I don't need any further indication that a member of that household committed a murder or concealment of Aliayah... now just to confirm which or both and where she or her body is.
grrrrrr... why breed if you are going to hurt and or kill them?!!!

If Aliayah died due to overdose, illness or accident and somebody "concealed" the poor little body, what type of charges could that bring to the "guilty" party? Is there a law that addresses that kind of concealment, if the death was an accident? Does the death fall into the child abuse/neglect column? Or, Is failure to get medical attention a type of manslaughter?

WESTON, WV: The FBI today at a 2:00pm press conference declared the disappearance of 3-year-old Aliayah Lunsford a crime, stating they do not believe she walked off on her own. NO SHIT SHERLOCK!
Marc Klaas, president and founder of KlassKIDS, extended an offer to bring in his notorious nationwide search and rescue organization but as of Saturday he reported Aliayah's family had not contacted him.
THIS 'CONCERNED' FAMILY HAS NOT TALKED TO THE PUBLIC IN OVER A WEEK! how long has she really been gone??

According to a WBOY article, the lawyer Tom Dyer received a tip from a credible source saying somone in or close to the family is responsible for aliayah's disappearence. The article also makes it sound as though arrests are immenent!!

The community doesn't know where evidence will lead officials, but it is doing what it knows how to do.
"Pray for the best. That's all," resident Raines said.
The FBI wouldn't give a time frame for arrests, nor would (FBI) Killeen speculate if the charges would be filed in state or federal court.

I'm afraid Aliayah might have been "gone" for a very long time before being reported missing, maybe weeks or months (like precious Zarah Baker). Very interested to know about the friends with whom Aliayah was supposedly staying the night of 9-23 when she was allegedly brought home for "messing" herself. Who are these friends? Do they have a child? Were they poly'd? I won't be surprised if they didn't check out.
There are no new pictures of Aliayah, no one other than people inside the house have come forward to say they saw Aliayah recently... I'd bet a million mom was collecting state support for Aliayah. She may have been due for a routine in-home check by social workers and decided to float the "missing" story before the scheduled visit. Or, maybe somebody else starting asking a lot of questions. The only thing that doesn't fit the long-gone theory is the dogs tracking Aliayah's scent to the river, unless she was deceased for some time elsewhere and then carried down to the river just before mom made the call to LE.
It also wouldn't surprise me if mom handed little Aliayah off to somebody (or sold her). I hate to think it, but Shaniya Davis's case really opened my eyes as to what some mothers are willing to do to fulfill their selfish needs.
Actually, nothing much would surprise me at this point (aside from Aliayah actually having wandered off or been kidnapped from the home). Things don't add up in the mother's story. Whenever Aliayah went missing, mom knows how and why and who, imo.
The truth needs to be told. The other children are probably the best chance of getting to the truth, but it may be tricky convincing them to speak out against their mother and/or her spouse. I hope the children tell the truth for their own sakes and for Aliayah's.
All pure speculation and tossing out possibilities... What happened to this baby? May Aliayah be found tomorrow.

Thanks Woo! If that's confirmed, then 4 days prior to being reported missing is the earliest something tragic could have happened to her. Still too long a possible lead time for cover-up, but better than weeks or months.
I just hope Aliayah is found quickly and someone tells the truth.

It was first said that she was seen at the church clothing giveaway on September 20, but a church member said the clothing giveaway was on August 20, so that's over a month before she was reported missing, that someone outside of the family saw Aliayah. :/

Ok, got it. Not a good sign for Baby A if the last confirmed(?) sighting outside of the house was 4 weeks or 4 days before being reported missing. Someone should have seen her outside with her siblings, at the store with her family, playing out back... I really want to know who Lena claims Aliayah was visiting on 9/23. Don't think we'll be finding out anytime soon though.

CHARLESTON, W.Va.-- Special agents with the FBI don't think 3-year-old Aliayah Lunsford walked away from her Weston home on Sept. 24.
Special Agent Jeff Killeen, of the FBI's Pittsburgh office, said authorities instead are now treating the case as an abduction, homicide or a concealment.
"Those are the three crimes we're looking at," he said.
Killeen also said authorities are looking at persons of interest in the case. However, a specific suspect has not yet been identified, he said.
Killeen would not comment on whether any members of the Lunsford family are considered persons of interest.
Authorities and volunteers have been searching for the toddler since she was reported missing about 11:30 a.m. that Saturday morning by her mother, Lena Lunsford.
Hundreds of volunteers along with authorities searched the West Fork River and its banks for days looking for the little girl.
The hillsides near the Lunsford home in the neighborhood known as Bendale also were searched, Killeen said.
"There is no evidence in the wooded areas to show that she (Aliayah Lunsford) is out there," he said.
Killeen said a 3-year-old could have made it only a short distance from her home on her own.
Officials have suspended the search of the river and the surrounding hills and streams, Killeen said. Volunteers are no longer needed, and the temporary search headquarters at the Weston Armory has been disbanded, he said.
"All of the authorities involved in the search have gone back to their offices to continue work from there," he said.
