Lisa Irwin 10 Mos. missing. MO
i think the search warrant affidavit was fresh news.

next will be an arrest. or a body found.

these things don't resolve in an hour like on TV.

Thank you.

Certainly, TV is not a proper comparison (far from my mind, at least). Nonetheless, this story seemed to have some movement in the news almost daily. Now it's been a silent state of affairs for a day or two. I'm not precise, as my mind can't function that way. At any rate, this story seems to turn into a tragedy, doubled up by a shrewd scheme to cover it.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—

The attorney representing the parents of Lisa Irwin said Saturday on a national news show that the cadaver dog "hit" referenced in the search warrant, could have other reasons, nothing to do with Lisa.

"My understanding is that there are cold cases where dogs have hit on scents of decomposition that had been in the home for as long as 28 years," Cyndy Short, with McCallister Law Firm, said to ABC's Good Morning America. "This is an old home, 63 years old. There could be a lot of other explanations for that," she said.

Nineteen days after 11-month old Lisa Irwin disappeared, Short also tried to clarify the reason Deborah Bradley told police she didn't look for her baby in the yard the night she disappeared.

"She was deathly afraid," Short said in the interview. "I think in that fear, not knowing what happened to that child, that she didn't want to find something in the backyard that might have been terrible."

if you were a mom, you would go look for your baby nomatter what.

I'm sorry but that's total crap! I wouldn't be thinking of that, I would be running around like a fucking chicken with my head cut off, trying to find my fucking child. Why afraid of the backyard, not the front yard or a specific bedroom or something else, why the backyard? Why would that even pop into her simple fucking head? I just don't understand that, its total bullshit...

I think DB may have made a freudian slip with her statement that she was 'afraid to go in the backyard because of what she may find there'. That's got to be the dumbest statement, as a mother, I've ever heard. If my child was missing (and we're still talking within the first 4-5 hours) - I'm going to look everywhere possible for her hoping to find her crawling around. I can't imagine that in that early stage, I'd even let my mind go to a dark place yet. What, exactly, was she afraid to find - evidence of her crime?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Police say an FBI cadaver dog reacted to the scent of a dead person inside the Kansas City home where a baby girl disappeared nearly three weeks ago, and investigators discovered soil in the backyard that had been "recently disturbed or overturned," according to a released court document.

The affidavit stated that an FBI cadaver dog taken into the house Monday indicated a "positive 'hit' for the scent of a deceased human in an area of the floor of Bradley's bedroom near the bed."

The FBI dogs, which often are used at both disaster and crime scenes, are trained "specially to recognize the scent of decaying, decomposing human flesh," retired FBI special agent Jeff Lanza said Friday.

"That can be the scent of an actual body decomposing, or residual scents after the body is no longer there," Lanza said.

Dr. Edward David, a deputy chief medical examiner for the state of Maine and co-author of the "Cadaver Dog Handbook," said that when a body is left in one spot for several hours, cells are left behind. They continue to decompose and create an odor, giving the dog scents to detect.

He said that while trained dogs may fail to detect the smell of human decomposition about 30 percent of the time, they generally don't alert when nothing is there. One exception is when human waste is present.Read more at the link below:

I don't know if its "Freudian", but it certainly is a curious comment to come from the mother of a missing baby.

The door that was left open must have led to the back yard. Even though they made the claim that the baby was taken out the window, which also may have been in the back yard, the back yard at the time was the boogy man.

Did you really expect this person to make intelligent statements?

I don't know if I expected her to make intelligent statements but, I've been back and forth on the fence about this mom from the get go. She's obviously no scholar but, at first I thought she seemed genuine and didn't have anything to do with this baby's disappearance. Slowly - as I listened to her make more statements, I got that sinking feeling in my gut.

Keep in mind, this is my opinion only but, I think maybe her shock/distress over whatever happened to the baby aided her in seeming genuine. As that shock wore off and her survival instincts kicked in, she began to make comments that just seemed "off". I hope I'm wrong but, it seems this new statement about the backyard may be the biggest clue she may have inadvertently dropped.

My ass is still really chapped that she refused to talk to local tv or media, and would only talk to those big enough to "pay" her for interviews. I know, I know, they all say they don't pay for interviews. But they do pay for pictures. And she was fit to be tied that the law took her computer hard drive because she wanted to get some of the baby's videos off it.

Ka-Ching$$$$$$$$$$ seemed to enter her mind before anything else, and to me that shows guilt. Innocent people don't try to make big bucks off their missing babies.

I read where there was an 11 month old that went missing while she lived on that base. I'm going to see if I can find out more about that.

She seems to have compiled her play book from several cases, putting several together to make hers.

Valley Girl, I just read that this case mimics something that happened
at Fort Bragg when Deb lived there and there was a question of it being
a copy-cat. I believe i was reading Kansas City Star and it was a link
on right side of page. Sorry i have short term memory loss. In case at
Ft Bragg, mother actually killed her 11 month old baby.

Baby Lisa Irwin: New Surveillance Footage of Mystery Man
By CHRISTINA NG and ROB NELSON
Oct. 23, 2011

New surveillance footage of mystery man may support Lisa Irwin parents' claim that their daughter was abducted.

In video obtained exclusively by "Good Morning America," a man dressed in white is seen leaving a wooded area, at 2:30 a.m. -- the night of Lisa's disappearance.

The family claims Lisa was abducted and they point to key witnesses who saw a suspicious man that night, carrying a baby.

Mike Thompson told ABC News that he was on his way home from work around 4 a.m. on Oct. 4 when he saw a man in a t-shirt carrying a baby at an intersection about three miles from the Irwin home.

Do we actually know that DB was living in North Carolina in 2007?

At this point, I am sure I am the minority in this...but I am still holding out hope that she is alive. I am not sure how I feel about the parents, but the survillance video of the man and the eyewitness accounts gives me some small shred of hope that they were telling the truth.

There is now a clip of the man in the video in the abcnews link given above. It is very blurry and looks like a person in a light colored hoodie walking through a gas station parking lot. He/she does not appear to be carrying anything.

It think its all just Taco's PR BS that the media is even playing the video. I question the ethics.

this whole 'i was drunk' drama, mark my words Smiley_emoticons_biggrin...is solely designed to be a defense strategy if/when needed.
let's see, what is worse? i was drunk or i killed my baby by accident, negligence, or intent? ok i'll take i was drunk for $50. alex.

But they would both be negligence neither would be intent, you would either do it drunk by accident, or by accident not drunk like you say, neither necesarilly mean any intent.

Just wanted to post a few snips from the article on the CNN Justice Website. A lot of the info is the same, but there are a few interesting quotes. View full story here: http://articles.cnn.com/2011-10-21/justi...PM:JUSTICE

Some snippets:
"Lisa's mother, Deborah Bradley, said she last saw Lisa at 6:40 p.m. the night before." ~isn't this the third or fourth different time she has given?

"The attorney for Lisa's parents said the release of the affidavit Friday was "unfortunate," as it could derail the search for the missing girl." ~actually the only one's that seemed to have stopped looking for Lisa are her parents.

"The family's private investigator, Bill Stanton, called the information contained in the affidavit "interesting."

"I'm eager to get the facts (and) I hope it leads to finding baby Lisa," he said.
" ~Workin hard, Bill?

""I was the last one with her," a tearful Bradley said. "And from judging on how the questioning went, that's kind of a fear that I have. And the main fear with that is, if they arrest me, people are going to stop looking for her. And then I'll never see her again, and I'll never know what happened."

Asked how much she had been drinking that night, Bradley said, "enough to be drunk."

But she rejected the notion that she could have harmed her daughter while under the influence of alcohol.

"No, no, no," she told NBC. "And if I thought there was a chance, I'd say it. No. No. I don't think alcohol changes a person enough to do something like that.""
~No, alcohol didn't change you at all, huh? You can't even remember that night, but the alcohol had nothing to do with it, right?

"Asked whether he had questions about Bradley, Jeremy Irwin told NBC, "No. There's no question to be had there. I know who she is. I know the kind of mother she is."" ~Wow, he can put more than a 2 word sentence together, I'm so impressed.

"The missing girl has two bottom teeth and a "beauty mark" on her right outer thigh, police said. At the time of her disappearance, she had a cold with a cough." ~The 'beauty mark' is new info, isn't it? (I could have missed it before, tho)
