All things Paranormal
#1
Hello all,
I tried to start a thread like this at another discussion site. Unfortunately, all I got in replies was some bible scriptures and a private message invite to bible study.

With that being said, I wanted a place where I could speak to like-minded people regarding PARANORMAL experiences and *hopefully* not be ridiculed for it.

I'll begin with my most recent experience.
I have a 2 year old and as we all know, it is thought that children hold the innocence to "see" more than what we as adults do. So, while recording my little girl on the couch acting silly, I saw on my camera LED display, "an orb" or whatever you'd like to call it. It was transparent and moved pretty quickly on the LED.

After the "orb" leaves the LED display I looked around to the left of me, where it seemed to have went... I was looking for a moth or SOMETHING, yet found nothing. My daughter however clearly says "uh oh" as it is in front of her. She followed it with her eyes and even smiled at it.

Now, if it were a dust particle, I don't believe my little girl would have followed it with her eyes and react to it. If it were a big, I would have seen it. My daughter is also petrified of bugs unless it's a butterfly!

Ever since I moved in to my home, I've always felt a presence there. You know, the famous "someone is watching me" feeling? I get that a lot. I don't feel threatened by whatever it is though, at least NOW. When I first moved there with my family I did. It seems that maybe the entity perhaps warmed up to us and is happy to share residence.

Either way, I have pictures and video if anyone is interested. First, I'd like to see where this thread goes!

Do you know any of your home's history? I'd investigate that and see where it goes. I waffle back & forth on how I feel about this type of thing and the only reason I give it any credence at all is because I had a freaky experience.

I have had a few experiences...
I have dreams, that are so real, its unreal.
When I have these dreams, its a premonition...
I knew my father in law was going to die about 3 months before he passed,
and saw where he was buried in our small town (350 people) that we lived
in at the time.
He passed while I was gone to my family reunion....when I got back home,
he was buried. I went to the cemetery with my husband, and he was buried
exactly where I saw the headstone in my dream.
These dreams are SO vivid, but in a way I cant explain. I just know, that
when I have them, its real, it comes true, and I cant avoid it, as they are
completely random.

As for you, JemStar, I agree...I think she saw something. Ive seen things out of the
corner of my eye, and thinking it was my glasses or something, and my dogs or cats
react...whichever is around....
Have you ever asked your daughter about what she saw? Felt? I wonder why she said
Uh oh?
You are missed...RIP Lady Cop

I volunteer for a mentoring program at our local county jail. I go in twice a week, and inmates that are involved in the program can learn how to balance a checkbook, make a budget, write a resume, Etc...

Anyway, the jail used to be an insane asylum about 100 years or so ago. Somewhere in the '30's there was a fire, during the month of January, that killed a lot of the patients, because they were locked up in their cells.

A couple of years back, I was in the woman's unit, and I heard a blood curdling scream, when I looked up in the direction of the scream, I saw men in the cells, I could see the fire, I could see the men on fire, pounding on doors that were no longer there.

When I looked around the rest of the room, none of the female inmates appeared to notice anything, but I was freaked out. The CO that was on the unit came over and asked me what was wrong, I told her that I thought I was hallucinating, because of what I thought I saw. She then explained about the fire, and then said that other people had claimed to see some of the same things. Many of the other CO's I've talked to say the same thing, one of the CO's takes the entire month of January off, because it freaks her out so much.

For the last 3 years that I have been volunteering there, I've 'heard' the crackle of the fire several times, and have seen people in white gown type things, sometimes on fire and sometimes not.

If it wasn't a county jail, I'd have contacted TAPS (AKA The Atlantic Paranormal society), and had them do...whatever it is they do when investigating a claim. Unfortunately, I highly doubt that the Jail would let a group like TAPS in.

I have... I work closely with deeds and what not and do legal research as my job. The house has been built on to and was given to the last owners as a gift from estate. The 2 rooms that are the oldest have the most energy in my opinion. I felt this even before researching.

The house was built in the 30s. Blue Ridge,GA is also well-known for it's shaky past. For instance, there is an old church down the road built in early 1800s by the first settlers here. The church also has a cemetery in which all gravesites point to the East, except for one. They point West and were considered a "lost soul" by the church-goers.

Blue Ridge is full of stories... there's a LOT of people who are still around from these old settlements and can tell you stories that have been passed down.

Hmmm, I can't tell if you're being serious or if it's because you drive terrible. o.O

IF you're being serious, I'd call that a gift Smiley_emoticons_smile

Lady Cop,
I don't know much about UK castles. I have been to one "castle/fort" but it was here in the US. It was Castillo De San Marcos in St. Augustine, FL. It's beautiful and is full of history. I was too young to fully appreciate it back then though. :/

I've heard it's got a lot of activity from spirits/entities! I'd like to go there overnight, or the famous Alcatraz.

And thank you!

Wow, that truly is amazing. I believe we are all capable of feeling/seeing things. It's in our nature to have instincts. Some just get buried while we're going through the "awkward" stages in life.

She is ALMOST 2 so she can't tell me *too much* of what she saw. She did say "Uh oh" and followed whatever it was, but also smiled at it. I didn't feel threatened or anything. On the video that I have you can tell I was just like, W...T...F?

I don't believe wholeheartedly that EVERY "orb" you find in a picture or something is a spirit/entity. There's too much room for doubt because of dust, bugs, etc. This was different though. It has such a fluid movement and it's transparent. I have some screenshots taken from the video as well.

Holy shit! What an experience! I've never had the pleasure of having a vivid experience like you, so I'd consider yourself lucky-even though it's scary as hell.

As for TAPS-Nooooo! Call "Ghost Adventures" and get that on the Travel Channel. I bet they'd be more than happy to do that! It's only 3 men with cameras-no special camera crew or anything.

They actually provoke the entities and get more answers. If you haven't watched the show, I implore you to do so. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Jem: Castillo De San Marcos in St. Augustine, FL

having spent my career in florida, i am very familiar with the fort. i never heard it was haunted, but that's OK. it sits on the St. John's river and the area was populated by the Spanish long before the Pilgrims landed up here where i live now. Smiley_emoticons_smile

but i am very into English/UK history, and there are many famous ghosts in Scotland and England. Hampton Court is said to be haunted by the screaming ghost of Katherine Howard and of course there is the Bloody Tower of London.

I bet there's a lot of happenings overseas. At least they don't go and tear down every monument/historical site. Tower of London sounds very familiar to me. I think I'll read up on that.

Hi Jem, I had a similar experience when moving into a house about 12 years ago. It was a beautiful house but had "negative" energy about it. My children who were around 8 and 9 years old were scared, There was even a group of big black crows that hung around my son's bedroom window. We would hear strange noises and feel things brush by us in the hallway.

The house was not very old, built in the early 1980's, by a newly divorced man. When he remarried, his new wife hated the house, which was contemporary and she wanted a big old colonial. Also the man had two teenage sons that were always in a lot of trouble. I contribute the negative energy to the wife not liking the house and the two sons.

While it seems a big far fetched, we did a Native American style cleansing by burning sage and taking it around all corners of the rooms, with special attention to the windows, doors and mirrors. While burning the sage we said things like "spirits it is time to move on now, this is our house now"..."you are free to go"..."let this smoke help you move on"..."go in peace", etc.

We finished burning the sage and threw out the old mat at the front door and put down a new one, with a final comment that this is our house now.

I swear we felt an immediate difference in the house after that little ceremony and never had any other problems. While our change in feelings might be a psychological response to doing the ceremony. It worked!

The Alamo rings a bell, I am faintly aware of the Grand Canyon, I am mildly aquainted with Niagara Falls.

How did you "know" I'm not from America?! Anyway, as far as UFOs go, I've also seen something like that. While laying down outside with my friend (we were about 14) we watched something in the shape of a ball with several lights pass us. I have no idea what the hell it was. She still remembers it too. Before you ask, I wasn't "on anything".

I wanted to do that when we first moved in to our home. After we lived there for about 6 months, I either got used to it or whatever it is, is just fine with us living there.

Like I said, I don't feel threatened at all now.

Back in Florida when my oldest was 3 1/2, she used to tell me about a man in her room. She said she also had tea parties with a little girl and named her Caylee-even to the point told me she was arguing over what My Little Pony they were going to play with. She told me her finger nails were always dirty. It was just weird I guess.

I am aware of "imaginary friends" but I also think that children can see things if they're not told that something else may exist.

Is it the New/Old Testament. I prefer stories from the Old Testament. They're much more interesting.

The bible makes some damn good stories... as does Greek Mythology, etc.
