British telly
#1
i love most British television, including the well-known popular comedies. here's a couple many Yanks may not have seen:

Ninja, a couple years ago you told me about "Lark Rise to Candleford". something your parents would like. Old hah

so i'm an old bat because i really like it. it's a gentle period piece... my PBS has been showing it. and Dawn French is in it! yay!

and if some haven't seen it, the first few seasons of "Monarch of the Glen" is wonderful! gorgeous Highland settings, men in kilts, perfectly cast characters, men in kilts, wildlife, bagpipes, and in case i failed to point out, men in kilts.
i loved that program, and felt horrible when they killed off the patriarch, Hector. he was so amusing, gruff and endearing!

They only did a few seasons.

Hotel Babylon is good. Have you seen it?

And the Last Detective. (I think that's the name.)

And Murder in Suburbia.

NEW Sherlock Holmes starting tonight, May 6. Sherlock PBS Masterpiece at 9 eastern.

Sherlock and Watson are plunged into a case of blackmail involving crafty dominatrix Irene Adler, whose motto is "know when you are beaten." It seems she has incriminating photos of a session with a British royal. Can she outsmart Sherlock at his own game? And at a battle he is ill prepared to wage — love?

i can't wait for this one:

"Sherlock: The Hounds of Baskerville" finds Sherlock and Watson investigating a murder that occurred 20 years earlier. It was witnessed by the victim's son, who claims his father was killed by a monstrous hound.

Pooh Sherlock, that's a great one, I have been catching up with it on Netflix. My sisters got me hooked. Most of my favourite English shows have finished, Cold Feet was a great one. If you feel like a bit of comedy Black Books was good, I found a great add on for the computer that allows me to watch bbc i player, itv player, channel 4 etc from here and not have to rely on you tube.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
