This is what I am referring to:
(CNN) -- The state's chief witness in the Trayvon Martin murder case lied under oath, prosecutors say.
The young woman who says she was on the phone with Martin when he encountered George Zimmerman lied about her whereabouts at another time, the prosecution told a judge Tuesday.
The woman, whose name has not been released, had told prosecutors that she was in the hospital on the day of Martin's funeral. The defense then sought her medical records.
In court on Tuesday, the state said the woman, known as Civilian Witness 8, was not in the hospital, so there are no such records to be turned over.

That, and he is trying to appease his momma.

Thanks Jim.
If she lied, that's bad and I'm sure it will hurt her credibility IF it's allowed at trial, just like the Zimmerman's lies under oath about their financial status would hurt his credibility IF allowed in.
Both of these apparent lies happened after the killing, so I still don't understand the hold up in taking the deposition. Nor do I understand George's brother's motive for hammering Witness 8 in the court of public opinion unless it's to drum up support for George (which doesn't help him at trial, but probably increases donations).
Waiting...

Point well taken. Score +1 for O'Mara. Thank you for that media link.
However, I watch the court hearing
The state's chief witness in the Trayvon Martin murder case lied under oath, prosecutors say.
Oh really? The prosecutor said that? lol lol
I must have missed that part of the live hearing.
Maybe I should go back and watch it again.
Because the only one that I recall saiying that was Attorney West. The dude that looks like skeletor.
He called Witness 8 a liar and it is now part of the court record.
The prosecutor did not make any such statement.
And I do not hate Zimmerman. I find him to be pathetic. And I have no doubt that he will do some serious prison time.

I hope you're right!
People need to know there are consequences for doing what George did. It's not okay to follow someone and then claim self defense when confronted by the person you followed.

Interesting.
So you think you are being followed by someone who is walking behind you, and you decide to confront them. My guess is you would say something like, "Is there a problem?" or "Why are you following me?".
At what point do you then decide to physically assault the person? And when you have made the decision to turn the confrontation physical, do you realize there are consequences for doing so?

It's my understanding that George was following covertly, enough so that he was reduced to whispering. Is that incorrect?

Was he creeping in the shadows? Skulking about attempting to be unseen by anyone? I have no idea.
It still doesn't change anything about confronting someone, let alone having that confrontation turn physical.
If I recall correctly, the only wounds to Martin were the gunshot wound and a small abrasion on one finger. No face bruising, no other indication that Zimmerman assaulted Martin in any other way. No bruising on the arms indicating Zimmerman was attempting to restrain or hold Martin.
Conversely, Zimmerman had physical evidence of an ass beating. Witnesses saw him getting his ass beat before the shot rang out. The evidence clearly shows that when it came to the physical confrontation, Martin was the aggressor, and Zimmerman had become the victim.
A good defense attorney is going to focus on and pound the heck out of these facts. Hell, he may even concede that Zimmerman had no business following anyone... but that doesn't give anyone - Martin in this case - the right to physically assault anyone. He'll probably also ask why Martin, if he felt so threatened, did not call 9-1-1 himself... preferring instead to confront the individual.
There was a reason this case wasn't going anywhere after initially reviewed, and it had nothing to do with the race of the players. It's because it's a weak case with contradicting facts that would make it difficult to gain any conviction.
But add the race hustlers, right wing nutters, a state prosecutor who charges second degree murder, and now you have a media fueled show trial.
And 1468 comments.

George deserved that ass beating & when he realized his ass was getting whupped he pulled out a gun & shot.
George was whispering while on the phone with 911, that indicates to me that he didn't want to be heard by the person he was following, he was being secretive.

The police version of events and Zimmerman's versions of events are different.
In the police affidavit, Zimmerman confronts Trayvon after profiling him and following him in his vehicle (and despite being advised by 911 dispatch to stop following him). A struggle ensues as Trayvon tries to defend himself, and Zimmerman ends up shooting and killing Trayvon. Thus, the manslaughter charge.
Police Affidavit:
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/...ument.html
In Zimmerman's written statement, Trayvon disappears from sight when he calls 911 and the dispatcher advises him to stop following Trayvon and asks for his exact location. Zimmerman claims that he got out of the truck to find the street sign when Travyon re-emerged, confronted and attacked Zimmerman. A struggle ensues as Zimmerman tries to defend himself, and Zimmerman ends up shooting and killing Trayvon. Thus, the self-defense claim.
Zimmerman's Statement:

Thanks, Hot D.
I don't see my opinion on this ever changing given the only other person who really knows what went down is George. I view him as a liar.

I disagree. I haven't seen any evidence that clearly shows Trayvon was the aggressor. If I missed it, I'd like to see it.
The fact that Trayvon kicked George's ass and George had more injuries from the altercation is in no way evidence that Trayvon was the aggressor. Trayvon could have kicked George's ass in self defense. People often get their asses beat when they're the aggressor and they start an altercation with someone who can out fight them.

If both were unarmed, I'd put money on Jodi over George in a cage fight. Jodi can take a hard ass-pounding without throwing in the towel.

There's no evidence of injury other than the gunshot to Martin.
There is no evidence that Martin was attacked first, or that Zimmerman ever got even one punch in.
There is no evidence either way who started what.
Which is exactly my point. Arguments can be made either way. Contradicting facts.
But let's concede for a minute that Martin was acting in self defense. While he was beating the hell out of Zimmerman - whom he was on top of, punching and slamming him into the ground - there came a point at which he was no longer acting in self defense. He had defended himself, and taken Zimmerman down.
Is everyone here arguing he had the right to continue beating Zimmerman into unconsciousness, or to death?

I think that there is, Mr. Bone. I believe George to be the initial aggressor.

Based on all of the evidence that I've seen, I was only arguing that your claim that there is clear evidence proving that Trayvon was the aggressor was false.
Thank you for rescinding that definitive statement and acknowledging that there's no known evidence proving who was the aggressor.

Unconsciousness? Yes. Maybe he saw George's gun and thought "if this guy gets up, he's going to shoot me".
