LAKE MARY, Fla. -George Zimmerman was injured in a shooting in Lake Mary on Monday afternoon, according to Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell.

The shooting involving Zimmerman and another man happened on Lake Mary Boulevard about 12:45 p.m., police said.

According to Bracknell, officers at the scene reported Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound.

It seems the guy who shot at Zimmerman was fixated on him and a bit nutty.

I think George Zimmerman is a dangerous asshole, but I don't think he's to blame for this latest incident.

Authorities have said little about what led to last week's violence on Lake Mary Boulevard, but a police report describes the person charged with shooting at George Zimmerman as a mentally unstable man with a possible obsession with the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer.


The shooter, ^ Matthew Apperson, was arrested Friday. He is facing several charges in the shooting, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and firing a deadly missile into an occupied conveyance.

He is currently out of jail on bond. A judge ordered him to avoid contact with Zimmerman. He turned in his guns to deputies on Sunday.
