Do you road rage?
#41
I like mouthing the words "you suffer much" (look in the mirror and try it) when I'm that pissed off. Kind of does what I want and balances the karma scales at the same time.

Otherwise, since I drive for a living and my company's name is plastered all over the vehicle I control my rage, such as it is.

When someone pulls in front of me, I slow down. In the passing lane with a tweaker I just flash the lights once or twice, or if that doesn't do the trick I lay on the horn, but I also pull back a little bit if I'm up their butts.

Nothing worse than a tailgater in a hurry.

Here in "seniorville", I always drive with extreme defensive caution, always allowing for the "many mistakes" the other drivers will & do make. (And they certainly do, both young & old) I have not, & do not road rage, cause it's foolish to do so. As it won't change anything for the better, and it may ultimately just lead to unpleasant endings.

(Anyway, glad to be heading back North next week, where they don't go through so many windows!)

PALM COAST, Fla. -
A 76-year-old woman who drove her car into a Publix supermarket in April and injured 10 people has been fined and her driver's license has been suspended for three months.

During a hearing on Thursday Judge Sharon Atack ruled that Thelma Wagenhoffer must take a driving test before she can get her license back.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported the judge checked to see if she could suspend the license even longer.

When Wagenhoffer had difficulty hearing the judge, a bailiff gave her headphones that connected to the courtroom's audio system.

She entered a no contest plea on the careless driving charge. She was fined $500.

100 years old, runs down 11 people.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- The elderly driver who backed his car into pedestrians across from an elementary school has a valid license and a clean driving record, but his family says his driving days are over. WOW ARE YOU SURE??

The accident happened at the intersection of 53rd and Main streets outside Main Elementary School around 2:30 p.m., just after school had let out.

Fire officials said 11 people were taken to local hospitals. Two adults and nine children were injured, including three 4-year-old boys and one 11-year-old boy.

Most of the victims were treated and then released, but two children remained hospitalized Wednesday night.

One child was being held for observation overnight, and the other was listed in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle, 100-year-old Preston Carter, did not appear to be injured.

Carter, who turns 101 next month, said he was backing out of the parking lot of a Food 4 Less supermarket when his brakes failed. <----- bullshit

Some witnesses told reporters that Carter had been honking at children who were running behind his car while he tried to back up.

They said he appeared to become frustrated and hit the gas, zooming backwards, and lost control of the car.

Just three weeks ago, a very good friend of The Chef was killed in a motorcycle accident when an 88 year old woman ran a stop sign and plowed into the bike in her rush to get to the doctor. She said she didn't see the sign or the motorcycle. She's 88, what can they do? Send her to prison for vehicular homicide? She shouldn't be driving in the first place.
Just shut up. Just shut the fuck up right now.
