Let's push DF right out of the mental picture. Think of Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze or even doing the Star Spangled Banner - making the guitar literallly sing the words. Jimi was a leftie who played an altered right-handed guitar.

Well, you can do that, but he specifically is a left handed drummer that plays a right handed set lefty. It's an interesting stick approach with his 4 limb independence.
