the catholic church is one of the weirdest and most hypocritical, ass backwards organizations i've known of. and I say that as a technical catholic who went to catholic school for about 11 years.


I hate to be a nitpicker but I believe it was the girl's mother and the doctor(s?) who performed the abortion who were excommunicated. not the girl herself.

that said.....wow. this entire case is fucking crazy. THIS IS A LITTLE GIRL! Reading those remarks from the Cardinal makes me want to smack him. How does he know carrying to full term and delivering twins would not have killed this 9 year old girl, and in the process possibly the twins too? There are grown women who are physically/medically unable to carry children due to a risk of their own safety. and this girl is 9, she's still a child. if they're that worried about "life being protected" why not fucking protect this little girl from the stepfather, who is welcome with open arms to the catholic church, a little better? Maybe no one knew what was happening to her, but someone might have.

The church makes such a big fucking deal over no sex before marriage-- was this guy married to the girl? uhh obviously not as he is her fucking stepfather. They also get all up in arms about children being raised "by a mother and a father" (one of their arguments against gay marriage), but what the fuck do they think would happen if this 9 y/o did carry to full term, and what if she died giving birth? they'd have no mother. not only that but their biological father is a damn child rapist, hopefully he'd be in prison and unable to contact those twins but if not i'd hate to imagine what'd happen to those babies if he was able to get them.


i am glad their president spoke out on the matter, i think he chose those words very wisely.
