So I take it Biden isn't one of the Presidents close aides?
Anyone who doesn't recognise spin from the oval office is an idiot.
I think Biden fucked Obama unintenionally and I agree about the spinning (in so far as the disconnect between the Pres and VP in terms of timing/strategy). I think Obama probably would have waited for a few more polls on specifics related to gay marriage after the NC Amendment 1 ban passed, and waited to see how far Romney would go in support of Civil Unions before he went all the way with a public commitment to equal marriage rights for gay couples.
The debates are going to be interesting, imo...
The simple fact is the Vice Didn't know what the rock star thought about gay marriage , they don't fucking talk.
To be honest I think his endorsement of gay marriage is a fucking political lie, 3 years in and this is the first he has spoken on the issue other than the buffer of my views are evolving? what the fuck does that mean anyway?
He's trying to make lemonade from bullshit.
It might be yellow but it but it still tastes like shit.

I disagree on this one, Dick. It would have been much easier to spin and dance away from Biden's statement and downplay a disconnect between the Pres and VP than to go balls out with public support of gay marriage equality. Obama's locked into it now; no turning back.
I think Biden slipped and a calculated decision was made: better to move forward with more and sooner than planned than to let the public believe that the Pres and VP aren't in sync in this election year. I highly doubt that Biden isn't clear on Obama's public positions regarding key issues. Imo, just a verbal premature ejaculation on Biden's part, so to speak.

A political move that was to be released later and the Vice on the ticket didn't know about it?
Yeah, it's obviously not a bullshit tale.
He's playing it to the hilt with the only people that he knew would accept it Hollywood and the rest of the freak show from the far liberal left, you do know that the suspected battleground states, florida,Iowa,North carolina, nevada, colorado and a couple of others have all enacted bans on gay marriage right?
Smart move Mr. President.

I think he was going there anyway and Biden was aware; Biden just messed up during a live interview. You may be right though; it may be that Biden had no idea where Obama was likely headed with gay marriage rights and he forced Obama to go somewhere that Obama would never have gone. But, that doesn't make much sense to me as there were alternative spins that wouldn't have locked Obama into an unplanned campaign commitment.
As for states banning gay marriage; true enough. But, I think Obama's looking at individuals. Half of the country claims to support gay marriage now. So, some undecideds and groups that have a particular interest in gay rights may be swayed toward Obama (and others away from him). He's got Hollywood panting; and he lost some of Hollywood during his first term, imo.
Still think whether this was simply an earlier-than-planned announcement or a bullshit tale, it could be advantageous for Obama. Anxious to see how it plays out.

I hope you're right, I would hate to think we have idiots running the country and were still a few trillion dollars from a complete failure of our finacial system and having a dictator as a leader.

Obama 2012
I'm still undecided. I've got qualms with Obama and Romney. It's anybody's guess as to whether this sudden statement of support for gay marriage rights was planned or forced, and whether it will have a positive or negative impact on Obama's electability. I'm just giving my opinion; we've all got one...

I'd love for some smart, famous, independent, centrist candidate to step up and knock both of the current front runners on their asses. Both parties are run by money, their special interest groups and their voter base. I hate being forced to pick between either of them.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I may throw my vote away on someone who doesn't have a chance in hell of winning just in protest.

Tricky bitch, you know that is the same as voting for the incumbant President.
Then you can say nope I didn't vote for him and not be lying.

That's certainly passive aggressive on your part. Same as saying a vote for Romney is the same as voting for the incumbent, because he doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of carrying 270. He's good for 220 max but won't get the key states to swing it. It's shaping up to be the most BORING FUCKING ELECTION in history.
One thing for me is certain, I don't really care much for Obama (holds nose) but he's better than what else is being offered, except for Paul, and Paul just can't do it in this climate. I wish Biden would defect at the convention and convince Hillary to go for it. That would shake shit up nicely.

I'm not going to go in to details now, but my gut reaction was that it will hurt him more than help him in his re-election efforts (although I'm not opposed to gay marriage myself).
Your thoughts?
Really just the one thought: Just like a nog to tell you what you want to hear when they want something from you. (Of course, I'm not the resident expert, but I can refer you if you have any questions.)
