NFL 2012 SEASON
#61
At Bills camp they do a radio broadcast every year from there and di a rundown a couple years back. It was ridiculous the amount of food they pound down, but it was impressive how regimented it was. These guys know exactly what goes in their bodies, in what percentages and when during the daily routine. That's why I never buy the "I didn't know it was steroids" defense when guys get caught. These guys know EVERYTHING they take in.

NFL Hall of Fame Game

The Arizona Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints will kick off the preseason on Sunday August 5, in the 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

I'm not really interested in this but it will be wonderful to hear the sound of football being played & preseason starts in one week. Yay!

Normally, I'd be excited with you Duchess about the upcoming season, but with a very mediocre team, playing in an exceptionally tough division, it's real hard to be optimistic.

The Saints have been hit hard in the off-season, but I expect them to have an 'us against the world' mentality this year, and play really, really well.

Check out the Patriots schedule for this year. A bunch of nobody's (well they do play the Broncos and Ravens, but both in Foxboro) on tap. They could easily go 14-2 or 15-1.

The NFC North plays the AFC South this year in intra-conference matchups, which should be dominated by the NFC North. The NFC North also gets the NFC West in inter-conference games. Again, the 49ers look like the only difficult matchup there.

You could see both NFC Wild Card teams coming out of the NFC North (Packers, Bears and Lions all making the post-season).

We shall see!

I love love love football. Thing 2 isn't playing this year and I'm crushed.

Do you like college or pro ball better? I prefer college ball.
I will be rootin for Michigan, Alabama (RMFT!), and the Georgia Bulldogs!

How can you be a fan of both Alabama AND Georgia? They're rivals. Doesn't make any sense, unless you like them because they have cool uniforms.

Do tell.

BTW, Ramsey, this is an NFL THREAD.

Get the college talk outahere!

I'm anxious to see how the Colts are going to do this year. Brand new team and coach.
They say if they win 6 games this year, it will be a success.
Some people are predicting Andrew Luck will be a better QB than Manning was.

I wish you guys well, you deserve it after last season.

Your first preseason game is Sunday August 12 vs St Louis.

Your season opener is Sept. 9 @ Chicago. Good luck!

Thanks...it will be interesting. Indiana will be watching the Broncos too. We have to keep up with Manning.
I don't think he'll last the whole season...someone is going to take him out.

I don't think he should have returned to football. It must be for the love of the game because it sure isn't for the money, he's worth millions. I'm afraid for him.

I don't think it's for money either. He's never come across as greedy to me. He's spent millions on local charities in Indy.
I hope he doesn't end up paralyzed.

I think it's the same reason other stars stay. He's got a chip on his shoulder now. This will either be a horrible tragedy or his best year ever.

I think he'll be VERY good this year. Kinda like Favre's first year in Minny going to the NFC Championship game. I think Manning feels like he has detractors and he'd like to prove them wrong (can u say Irsay?).

Plus, his little brother now has 2 titles. I'm sure that isn't sitting well either.

My nephew goes to Bama and I have been a Georgia fan since my brother moved there many years ago.

FQ2, we got one of your Colts in a trade a couple days ago. His name is Kevin Thomas, he's a CB. Is his name familiar to you?

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Garrett Reid was found dead in a Lehigh University dorm room early Sunday morning, the Eagles said.

The 29-year-old son of Eagles coach Andy Reid and his wife, Tammy, had been assisting the team, helping out with strength and conditioning during training camp. Garrett Reid had a troubled past that involved drug addiction and a stint in prison.

"This is a tough morning for all us in the Eagles family," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said. "Garrett grew up with this team, which makes this news even harder for us to process."

Garrett is the eldest of the Reids' five children. Roseman said that Andy Reid spent the morning informing his family and Eagles owners Jeffrey and Christina Lurie. A press conference with Jeffrey Lurie had been scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., but was canceled following news of Garrett Reid's death.

"The news is heartbreraking for everyone in the Eagles family," Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement. "Our hearts go out to Andy, his wife, Tammy, and their children."

Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and defensive coordinator Juan Castillo oversaw the team's practice Sunday morning and will oversee the team until Reid returns, the team said.

"From a football perspective, I can tell you Andy has asked that we go forward with training camp," an emotional Roseman said. "On a personal note, we’ve been with Andy for a long time. He’s always been strong for us, we’re going to be strong for him right now. As a father and a friend, we’re all hurting.”

Edward Shupp, Chief of Police at Lehigh University, said that his office received a 911 call at approximately 7:20 a.m. this morning of an unresponsive male in the Sayre Park dorms.

"Upon arrival attempts were made to revive the individual," Shupp said. "They were unsuccessful. ... There were no suspicious activities."

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said that he was conducting an investigation with the cooperation of the Lehigh police department.

"I personally pronounced Mr. Reid deceased at the scene," Lysek said. "The investigation will be ongoing."

Reid was not present for the start of the Eagles' walkthrough Sunday morning. The Eagles originally said that Reid was dealing with a personal issue and that they would issue an update following practice.

The Eagles coach is a familiar presence at the team's practices, always hovering in his matching black shorts and shirt. The team was seen gathering together in prayer before practice, an ominous sign that something was amiss.

Players and coaches were not made available for interview following the morning walkthrough.

The last time Reid was believed to miss a practice was in November 2007 to appear in court with Garrett, after his son was arrested on gun and drug charges.

It's game day! GAME DAY! Wooooo! I don't care that it's preseason & doesn't count. Ahhh, the sound of grunts & helmets clashing, the sight of Jason Babin's tight ass in his uniform, yowza. I can't wait to flex & rawr in my living room right along with him.

Go Eagles!
