NFL 2012 SEASON

It's too bad the Ravens sometimes get besmirched because of one player. If Lewis was complicit or guilty in those deaths, he'll probably mess up again like OJ did.

The problem is, Ray is the FACE of the franchise.

Yesterday's nonsensical display at mid-field after the game made me want to barf.

It's always been all about Ray.

What? You think maybe he's an egotistical drama king? No way...

I hear what you're saying and while I don't follow football as closely as the rest of you, I know that Lewis is essentially to the Ravens what Kobe Bryant is to the Lakers - "the face" as you called it.

No matter how excellent these star face athletes are, they can't pull it off without the commitment of their heads-down colleagues who keep their noses clean an often get overshadowed by the "faces" and what they do off the field/court. But, hell, they all make a damn fortune, so nothing to cry about...

Who was the guy in the wheelchair inside the locker room after the game? A former player?

I think Ray Lewis is a good reason for everyone to root for the 49'ers. Yes I do.

O.J. Brigantz (sp?).

Played on the Ravens' 2000 Super Bowl team with Lewis.

He's their inspiration as he battles ALS I believe.

BTW, I have no problem with anything Lewis/Team does in their locker room. That's their business, and that's real.

It was Michael Phelps who's won close to 20 Olympic Medals. He's reportedly a huge Ravens fan.

Edit: Oops, I missed the wheelchair altogether. The local news here covered Phelps's locker room visit. More coffee...

Now THAT would have been a story.

Neither. Pretty sure it's waning reading comprehension skills, a bit of a hangover, and completely justifiable confusion. I mean, who couldn't mix these two up, right? The resemblance is uncanny.

I kinda laughed when I saw you say it was Michael Phelps but given it was you saying it I was willing to believe there was another one who had won a shit ton of medals too.

Is it just me, or does it look like Michael Phelps got punched in the nose? Looks like he went a few rounds with someone...

Here is someone who agrees with you, Mr. Bone -

The wife of New England Patriots star wide receiver, Wes Welker, went on a rant following her husband's loss, criticizing Baltimore Ravens' linebacker Ray Lewis' personal life and calling attention to his criminal history.

'Proud of my husband and the Pats,' Anna Burns Welker, a former Miss Hooters, began her message, following the Patriots' 28-13 defeat by the Ravens.

But she quickly added, 'By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay! What a hall of fame player! A true role model!'

Welker's wife later apologized for her initial post, saying, 'I apologize to Ray Lewis and his family for my comments. In no way did I mean for them to be mean or hurtful. I'm embarrassed for being a sore loser. I wish Ray and the Ravens good luck. Lesson learned!'

Miss Hooters? Who (besides MS) knew?

I'll bet her husband was thrilled that she posted that. Not only did he lose a game, but then his wife had to go and apologize.

What a humiliating week for the Welker family.

Last year it was Gisele who went off on a public rant.

Did anyone see the look on Bill Belechick's face last night? He looked like a miserable mutha. One of the commentators said he is always unsportsmanlike after a loss and needs to pull himself together or get a grip, something to that effect.

Patriot fans always wonder why their club is so despised.

Answer: Bill Belichek.

Smug and arrogant. Wouldn't do a post-game interview after yesterday's game. Sore loser. Sure, no one likes losing, but you gotta take the bad with the good in this league.

I'm shocked (and appalled) that I did not know this.

I heard a commentator say that Jim Harbaugh hasn't really given an interview in 2 years. Is that true?

I'm not sure about the interview thing, but, besides this year's 'buttfumble' with Mark Sanchez, his 'punking' of Lions coach Jim Schwarz after their game in 2011 was one of my fondest recent NFL memories.

Apparently Harbaugh and Schwarz had been lobbing verbal jabs at each other during the week leading up to the game. After the Niners pulled out a somewhat 'lucky' win, Harbaugh backslapped him hard during the obligatory coaches handshake and ran off. You can then see him mouthing something that appears to be 'fuck you' as he's running to his locker room. Schwarz then appears to say, 'Hey, what did you say?' and runs after him.

It was great!

User, why don't you post it for me in this thread? It'll be on Youtube. Thanks.
