Deanna Ballman was 9-months pregnant when she died
Police found her body in backseat of car near a farmhouse
Family says she responded to a house cleaning ad online
Ohio police are investigating the suspicious death of a pregnant mother of two whose body was found in the backseat of her car near an abandoned farmhouse, authorities said.
Deanna Ballman, 23, was nine-months pregnant at the time of her death. Her family said they last saw her as she was leaving for a house cleaning job she found on Craigslist, WSYX reported. However, authorities would not confirm or discuss a possible Craigslist connection with HLN.
Police said Ballman last spoke with her mother on the phone around 3:30 pm on July 31. Ballman’s mother said her daughter told her she wasn’t feeling well when the phone call suddenly dropped, KMGH reported. Her mother reported her missing when she hadn’t returned home that night.
The next day, a rural property owner discovered Ballman’s car around noon. When police arrived, they said they found the young mother’s body in the backseat of her car. David Wilcox, the property owner, told HLN’s Nancy Grace the deputy who opened the car door told him, “There’s a dead woman in the backseat. She’s pregnant too.”
A preliminary autopsy revealed no signs of trauma to Ballman’s body, according to a police news release. Her cause of death remains undetermined pending the completed autopsy report which is expected to be completed in 8-12 weeks, police said. WSYX reported the Delaware County Coroner ruled Ballman’s unborn child died due to a lack of oxygen.
Authorities told HLN they have executed two search warrants at a home located approximately three miles from where Ballman’s body was found.
The FBI is now assisting in the investigation. Authorities are still hoping to find Ballman’s cell phone, which police said pinged near a pond three miles from where her body was discovered. The pond, according to police, was search by divers, but failed to turn up additional clues.
“She was planning to go to dental school,” Sigrid Ballman, Deanna Ballman’s grandmother told HLN’s Nancy Grace. “We just want to find out who did this.”

LC, I'm having a hell of a time adding a picture of her. (The forum has changed the way you upload a pic. Because I used to be able to do it.)
Would you please post the pic for me. I'd appreciate it so much. Thanks in advance.
I believe this is going to be an unusual murder case. I'm curious to see if the doctor did it, my feeling on it is, I don't think he did it. We'll see.
Thanks again LC.
