The lakefront Florida retreat where FBI agents gunned down gangland legend Ma Barker in 1935 is up for sale - bullet holes and all.
The two-story wood frame house in rural Ocklawaha, 62 miles northwest of Orlando, is the site of one of the most celebrated raids in FBI history and the water-side home is expected to fetch up to $1 million.
Kept in the family since the famous gangland boss' final stand, the home is still riddled with the bullet holes from the gun-fight in which the FBI reportedly fired 2,000 shots during a four-hour stand-off.
Kate 'Ma' Barker, who was branded Public Enemy No. 1 by the federal government for a rash of murders, kidnapping and robberies committed in the early 1930s, was killed in the house along with one of her sons in a barrage of bullets from federal agents.
she had four criminal boys named Herman, Lloyd, Arthur, and Fred.
Upstairs and downstairs walls are pockmarked with indentations and raised plaster patches where bullets hit, and at least one through-and-through bullet hole remains un-repaired on the staircase.
nice location!

It's so bizarre to pose with dead people like they are record breaking fish.

it was then (no TVs) very common to pose with trophies when they were notorious folk heroes or most wanted. proved they were indeed dead.
examples, Dillinger, Bonnie & Clyde, lots more.

That is a pretty house. I wonder if it has bad "energy" though.

I've always wondered about that. I live in a house that a 3 year old boy was shot and killed in the front yard about 5 years ago. I have never once felt any "bad energy" here.

Wow. I am not sure I could live there. I think even if the house didn't have bad energy, I would feel haunted knowing what happened there.

Casa Casuarina, the Miami Beach, Fla., house once owned by late fashion designer Gianni Versace, is on the market for $125 million. Known as Casa Casuarina, the 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom house overlooks the ocean. Mr. Versace bought the home and its adjacent lot in 1992 for just under $10 million and then invested another $33 million in the property, adding a 6,100-square-foot south wing, a 54-foot-long mosaic-tiled pool lined with 24-karat gold, a mosaic-covered courtyard and frescoes on the home's walls and ceilings. He was killed outside the home in July 1997.

Owner Steve Stephenson said Monday he's asking $50,000 for the small white house in Louisville, Kentucky with a sagging front porch overhang. In front of the one-story home is a state historical marker recognizing the residence as Ali's boyhood home, when he was known as Cassius Clay.

funny how homes sell for much less after a violent crime but this place of Ma Barker's history is marketing it's history in a positive way making price increase...interesting

I'd love to have the Barker house! That place is beautiful. Now to search my other pants and couch cushions to find that spare million bucks I stashed.
