Huh. Fox reported that the seal plans to donate proceeds to charity.

I know. Me too. I'm a little conflicted about his failure to get approval. His free speech rights versus the potential for national security leaks.
He had an attorney or someone else review it but still...
I wonder if the administration could/would stop its publication if they felt it was a threat to national security.

There's no such thing as a former SEAL. No SEAL ever does anything without the express/explicit direction of the DOD.
Americans love the idea of something available that hasn't been "approved". There's no such thing as information avail. to the public that hasn't been approved.
Propaganda. Or as I like to call it total, ribald, unapologetic bullshit.

I'd be interested in reading about that night. I like the photograph the White House released showing the faces of those gathered around watching it all go down, I could feel the intensity in that room from that image. The Prez., Hilliary with her hand up to her mouth. I like her as much as I do her husband.

Ha! I just sniped this from another article on the subject...
Congressional Republicans criticized the administration for granting generous access to policymakers and some intelligence and defense personnel to a Hollywood team preparing a film on the bin Laden raid for release later this year.
The fact that U.S. officials said the Obama administration was unaware of the book about the raid until Wednesday suggests it will be difficult for Obama critics to attack him over the new book.

It's called plausible deniability.

When I drove home from So Cal the Monday before last, listened to AM radio most of the way. There's a movie out now in independent theaters that's anti-Obama. The writer (Dinesh something) was interviewed; sounds like it's mostly focused on how badly Obama allegedly treats his family, particularly a brother in Kenya who is poverty-stricken (and who is featured in the movie, along with one of Obama's aunts).
The radio host and the writer went on and on about how Obama's a hypocrite for saying "we are all our brothers' keepers" in a speech, yet doesn't give money to his family. At the end of the interview, the writer made it clear that his book is coming out too and it's a supplement to the movie; a must-have if you want to be really informed. I'm sure there's no profit motive involved at all (eye roll). The collaboration between the Obama camp and the producers of the Bin Laden movie was also harshly criticized in the interview.
I question how much unbiased truth is contained in any of these works and whether much of the public is swayed by these sorts of releases, regardless of how much collaboration really exists between the politicians and the writers/producers.
