People don't abandon their fight in such a public spectacle unless there is something they don't want being made public. They're calling it an admission of guilt and stripping him of his championships. That's not what an innocent person does...

Sometimes people are just done. Lance could continue to fight this but to what end? It's clear there is never going to be an end to this. Sometimes a person just gets to the piont where they say to themselves hey I know what I did or didn't do. The people that love me know the truth. That is what is important and I am done fighting a fight that will never be won.

Yeah that's what you do in traffic courg. Not when everything you've been, done or considered important your entire life are being destroyed. You don't walk away from that fight unless you know you're destined to lose or make it worse.

It's one thing to ignore ridiculous gossip, it's quite another when it comes to one's integrity. He spent a lifetime building a legacy, you don't just give up because the going gets tough, you fight for what you've worked for, this is way more than trophies & accolades, this is his integrity on the line and one's integrity is valuable, it's priceless. He'll now go down in history as a cheater.

I see your point but I can see his as well. None of us know what's in his mind. Maybe his cancer has come back and he is going to concentrate on that. It just seems like there is no definitive proof that he cheated.

The evidence involving the U.S. Postal Service-sponsored cycling team encompasses "direct documentary evidence including financial payments, e-mails, scientific data and laboratory test results that further prove the use, possession and distribution of performance-enhancing drugs by Lance Armstrong," the agency said.

Armstrong lawyer Tim Herman dismissed what he called a "one-sided hatchet job" and a "government-funded witch hunt" against the seven-time Tour de France winner, who has consistently denied doping accusations.

But the USADA said 11 riders came forward to acknowledge their use of banned performance-enhancing drugs while on the team. Among them is George Hincapie, Armstrong's close teammate during his winning Tour de France runs.

This is why people should stop holding people up as gods. My family loved Armstrong, and many athletes and they hold them up like they are super human. I just shake my head because everyone is fallible. I wish it weren't true about Lance. Now what will everyone do with their yellow bracelets?

I don't know if it will last, but for now, people seem to be separating the two. It surprises me too, in a good way.

I think its a shame what they did to Lance. They take a guy thats had cancer, all kinds of chemical treatments, had a nut removed and then are all "Oh Lookie Here, something is odd with his blood". Well no shit. The guy is also a genetic super human or he would be fuking dead. IMHO, he won the races fair and square. I would still shake his hand again. I met the guy at work a couple times, I worked with his mom in Dallas. He is a nice guy and I just don't think he cheated.

If that's the case why wasn't something done when it first began? Why didn't anyone say something then if it was so well known. Athletes wouldn't remain silent about cheating, let alone remain silent year after year. C'mon.

The USADA says they are going to release everything eventually, so we'll see what they had. My guess is that it is all testimony from athletes already busted for doping that the USADA put pressure on to implicate Armstrong. They have also concocted some elaborate conspiracy theory on how many people worked together to help Armstrong dope... the number of people who would have had to keep their mouths shut about it for so long is beyond credibility. If there were any blood or doping proof evidence, Armstrong would have gone down well before this.

This is a witch hunt by an out of control non-profit run by a vindictive person in Tygart. He's been gunning for Armstrong for years.

Most telling in all this is the the international body is NOT stripping Armstrong's TDF titles, as they are the only body that could do that. In fact, they have been unofficially on Armstrong's side during this, and have been critical of the USADA's antics.

Really, Jim, the truth shall set you free.
