I am sitting on my front lawn across from an islamic protest about a comic book called super muhammid. They are all chanting as I start my cookout of spare ribs using the Koran as a starter. I sit back in my Muhammid chair as I watch the festivities. One camel jockey notices what I am doing and starts running at me with a pitchfork aimed at my heart. I reach over grab my .357 and blow his head off just as he crosses my property line. Do I go to jail?

Do they have Stand Your Ground laws in your state? Let's be clear was it a pitchfork or a plastic fork?

it was a pitchfork laced with dog poo also..............

The bill:

1) Allows a person who is anywhere he or she has a right to be to use deadly force to protect oneself or a third person.

2) Inserts a civil immunity provision for the use of force against a perpetrator in certain circumstances.

3) Deletes the minimum mandatory sentencing requirement for felony convictions which include the possession, use, or attempted use of a firearm.

4) Amends the definition of "non-deadly forceā€ to include the act of producing or displaying a weapon.

The bill is now law and goes into effect in 60 days.

Also in case you are interested........
The third largest legislature in the English speaking world (after the UK Parliament and the US Congress).

It is also a part-time legislature, most representatives also have full time jobs and attend house sessions in the evening, they are paid the massive salary of $100 a year.

The New hampster legislature
I wish more states had legislatures like NH.

The film has nothing to do with it. It's just the red herring being used to incite protests against the US.

The assassination of our ambassador on 9/11/12 was a coordinated attack with heavy weapons and an executed plan. It was not a spur of the moment protest over a youtube video. That was obvious in the first 12 hours to even the dimmest of armchair generals.

What has happened since Tuesday is the uneducated Muslim rabble being stoked and prodded by extremist Muslim leaders... puppets attached to puppet masters if you will.

This is all a direct result of weak leadership from the current administration. Going on an apology tour and stepping back from the region showed weakness, and it is now being exploited.

Just watch... as the days unfold, this is going to get uglier and uglier. Not that it will be reported properly, but this is the probably the start of something much bigger.

This administration is an abject failure when it comes to middle east engagement. We are seeing the results of it now.

I believe it was a planned attack also. They are being played as puppets and to stupid to care. They are like 5th graders.

It certainly seems like a planned attack but I'm not sure why you think the current administration has shown weakness in the region. How many al Qaeda leaders have been taken out under this administration? How many successful (and some unsuccessful) drone hits have there been?

Afghanistan is a hot mess but it always was. McCain argues we should be doing more in Syria while many people feel we shouldn't meddle in that area at all. Which.is.it?

Also, many Republicans argued for a no fly zone over Libya earlier (the ouster of Gadhafi) and now they're complaining about the chaos surrounding his ouster.

Bullshit. The current administration is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

The problem with the current administration is that they can't decide what it is they want to do. During the "Green Revolution" in Iran - probably our biggest threat in the region - silence from Obama. During the Tahrir Square protests, Obama calls for Mubarak - a bad guy, but someone who kept the peace with Israel and an ally to the US - to step down. During the revolution in Libya, first they do nothing. Then, they get involved only after France and the UK commit to provide military support to the rebels. During the current crisis in Syria, nothing of real substance... and that is because Syria is a proxy for Iran.

If you look back user, you'll see most other administrations had consistent policy in regards to the middle east. This administration is all over the map, literally. They say they stand with Israel, but then take actions that make the arab street wonder. They say that the Iranian regime is dangerous, but when the time was at hand for potentially changing the game, all you heard was crickets.

As far as displaying weakness, you might want to go and watch the speech and interviews Obama gave on his grand tour of the region in 2009. It was not about the strength of America... it was about apology and softening.

It didn't work, because it was weakness. And today they burn his effigy next to the US flag.

The Muslim extremist is a rabid dog that needs to be put down. They won't stop until you're in a burqua and my head has been chopped off. They can't be reasoned, negotiated, or politely conversed with.

They understand one thing: strength.

What do you define as a successful drone attack? Dennis Kucinich has said that roughly 10 innocent bystanders are killed for every 1 suspected militant in a drone attack. Does that sound like a success? Stop waving your flag for a minute and consider that you have a suspected militant living next door to you. A predator drone swoops in one day and obliterates the motherfucker with extreme prejudice. Coming home from work, you see a burned out crater where your block used to be and bits and pieces of your family and neighbors strewn along the sidewalk. Because there's one less militant walking the world, the government and a nice chunk of America considers that a successful strike. Do you?
This idiotic video is just a bit of fuel on an already raging fire of righteous goddamn indignation, and will very soon be the next excuse to expand the war on terror even further. Only problem is, with more and more of the muslim population up in arms as the days go by, how do we differentiate between a legitimate terrorist and someone who is just really pissed off(and rightly so)? Kill 'em all and let god sort 'em out? That's not much different than our current policy.

As Terry Jones exercised his right to free speech in creating that video, the Muslims are exercising theirs in protesting its existence. Why does their practice of free speech(remember, we "gave" them that freedom) involve bombing American assets and killing American citizens? Simple: That's America. The video more or less represents a standard belief of Islam in America. Again, what most people aren't realizing is that this video is just the icing on the cake. The real damage gets done on an almost daily basis, committing the same atrocities in Muslim countries that we accused Muslim terrorists of committing in ours. At least its fair to say that the Muslim protestors have a goal in mind, unlike some of the more notable recent protests here in the good ol' US of A. Unfortunately, no amount of rioting and blowing shit up in any other country will help them accomplish that, and here's why:
The Muslims want America out of their picture? Simple solution: Step up the drilling and drain those reserves. Sell off every drop of oil you squeeze out of the sand. Once there's no more oil, the man ain't gonna have any more interest in you. Until then, we're going to keep finding a need to bomb the shit out of the middle east, the Muslims will react, the Christian extremists will counteract, and the whole fucked up story goes on ad infinitum.

That's been the problem with us packaging up democracy and shipping it around the world at cut-rate prices. Saddam? Bastard indeed, but Iraq wasn't getting bombed to shit by its own people when he was in charge. Mubarak? Bastard indeed, but prior to the US backed uprising, when was the last time you heard of an egyptian riot? Gaddafi? Bastard indeed, but he understood the intricacies of the country he ruled and the dynamics of the people who live there far better than we ever will. Those countries are all far worse off than before we got involved. Al-Assad? His day is coming, and we'll be seeing Libya 2.0 when it gets here. Ahmedinejad? He's just a figurehead. Take him out, most Iranians won't give a fuck. Take out the Ayatollah, the guy who REALLY runs shit there...America's gonna have a shitstorm on its hands.

Keep in mind that America was responsible for assassinating the last truly democratically elected president of Iran and creating the situation they're in today.

At some point, we'll have to realize that our actions are creating more and more extremists. No need to make a show of strength, simply give them what they want. Let's get the fuck out of the Middle East, and before making the OIL! argument, think back to the last time the gov't actually sent you a check for your cut of that oil...

Our country is everything we loathe in others & we need to start minding our own business. Yeah, yeah, I know all about protecting our interests abroad.

We are the terrorists over there & I don't blame any of those people for standing up with guns in hand and trying to get us the hell out of their country. I would hope Americans would do the same damn thing here.

America is the bully of the world.

I keep recalling John MCain saying Syria is crying out for American leadership. Jesus Christ.

I would have never picked you for a defender of terrorism.

9/11/01 was them standing up with their guns in hand telling us to get out of their country. So they slammed planes into buildings, and killed thousands. Why? Because they don't want military bases in Saudi Arabia (that's what had Osama Bin Laden in such a tizzy... he hated the military bases in the middle east). Forget the fact that the Saudi's want it there... because they need it there to protect them from extremists.

You really believe that if the US withdrew and kept within its borders that would be the end of Muslim extremism?

Prior to 2001 we weren't anywhere near Afghanistan, and those fuckers were subjugating women and destroying evidence of any other cultures wholesale. They didn't give a shit about the US, they were too busy blowing up Buddhist statues and killing those who don't convert to Islam.

They hate you because you are not Muslim. Period.

And a bully? Well I'm sure the Bosnian Muslims were happy to see us since they were being executed en masse and no one was trying to stop it. Also pretty sure the Europeans were happy that we got involved in WW2 and stopped Soviet expansion.

I could go on with a list of good things America has done, but what's the point... we're somehow always the bad guy.

The Clintons are heroes to the Bosnian people for stepping in during that whole thing. I know a pretty fair number of former refugees as my town is a pretty big destination for them when they come to the US, and one thing they all agree on is that Bill Clinton is a savior to them...

Jim, I'm not denying that good things have been done or that people have been helped & I'm surely not defending terrorism. You think because I call our country the world's bully that I stand behind terrorists?

Truth. The fact of the matter is that as fucked up as all those things Jimbob there mentioned are, none of it is our business. Never was. Never will be. If we stopped sticking our fat noses in to other people's problems, we'd have far fewer of our own to worry about.

Muslims: They don't hate you for not being Muslim. I've known quite a few myself. Extremists don't hate you for not being Muslim. That's just the excuse they use for their extremism, and the number of extremists is infinitesimally small, especially when compared to the number of Muslims in existence. I'd imagine the ratio is probably similar to that of Christian extremists. The only problem is, as I stated above, America's actions are creating more extremists by the day. It reminds me a bit of that old anti-drug PSA - Need more terrorists, so I can increase my budget, so I can expand the war on terror, so I can get more terrorists, so I can increase my budget, so I can expand the war on terror...on and on and on.

As for terrorists flying planes into buildings on 9/11...fuck, I'll save that for another thread.

No, not because of the bully comment.

It seemed you were making an equivalency argument with the "We are the terrorists over there & I don't blame any of those people for standing up with guns in hand and trying to get us the hell out of their country." The 911 faggots used airplanes instead of guns, and they did it here instead of their own country.

We would be terrorists if random Americans around the world walked into mosques and blew themselves up.

With regard to the comments by Sacrifyx...as for us creating more terrorists? Who believes that sort of bullshit? These fuckers strap bombs to handicapped people and children and send them into Israel for Christ's sake! Stop applying reason and logic to your thinking. They hate you for who you are. They have no interest in tolerance or getting along. They are preaching and growing their extremism not because we kill more of their terrorist leaders, but because of a deep rooted hate for the west. If the US disappeared tomorrow, do you think they would stop? No. They would move to the next "Great Satan" on the list.

And the difference between radical Muslims and radical Christians is obvious. Radical Christians bother me by showing up at my door with pamphlets and literature - not a god damned suicide vest or scimitar to cut my head off with.

I'll support my government killing them over there, rather then them killing us anywhere else.

Moderate Muslims need to get control of their spawn, or they are part of the problem as well.

Recognize that making apologies for your country will never save you from their extreme ideology. They might thank you for being a sheep perhaps, but they'd slaughter you just the same.

So it's wrong for people (not the 'terrorists', just average everyday citizens) who, in the process of going about their business have to hope they find some cover when a Predator swoops in and unleashes a barrage of Hellfire missiles to get rid of the one asshole in their midst who may be up to no good, to consider that an act of terrorism, and the people responsible for sending that Predator to be terrorists? I suppose it's a matter of perspective. They don't often see what we call terrorists as anything but heroes. Americans likewise do the same.

It's not the killing of their terrorist leaders. It's about the collateral damage in the process. If a foreign government began operating in my home country for whatever reason, especially one as contrived as the war on terror, and decided it was OK to blow up my family, friends and neighbors just to get at one person on their list, you know what? They've just found an eternal enemy in me and it would be my life's mission to take out as many of their people as I could before they take me down too.

Timothy McVeigh. Anders Breivik. David Koresh. The KKK. Just to name a few.

I don't make apologies for my country, but I refuse to live in fear of Muslims just because the gov't tells me I should and I recognize that their (being the gov't) actions are only making matters worse.

If I knew my neighbor was out killing people for religion, or my brother, sister, priest, congresman, mailman, vet was out there batantly commiting cruel acts of barbarism cutting off arms, heads, hands. Destroying lives. I would be trying to form some kind of group among the normal people to get rid of the rabble rousers.
When you see nothing but hate because of religion it is time to exterminate without objectivity. Collateral damage is what won WWII. If I had a choice or any type of say in anything I would create a naval blockade nobody gets in or out. No aid ,no bandaids nothing. Then let them try and escape through land, they would only go so far with their attitudes. It sure would save a bit of money.

I suppose we created a bunch of terrorists in Nigeria with all that free money we sent them... but these are the type of retards we are dealing with:

"Muslim Youths In Nigeria Crucify A Cat On The Cross To Protest Anti-Islam Film"

There's a picture of it too... but you can google it if you want to find it.
