A friend of mine sent me this, and as we had both guessed before taking it we landed pretty close together in the lower left quadrant. So, I'm most like Ghandi. Woohoo! ::banana::

I lean a tad more to the right than this chart and set of questions allowed for.
I'm socially centrist and governmentally right. I don't want the government in my finances, private life and business.

I am just happyto see how reasonable and relaxed peoples political views are here.
No right wing lunatics like at 24, just normal rational people with normal and rational politics.

But a right wing government would want to get into your finances, private life and business.
Fascism?, ring any bells?

OP no. The old Republican view is less government. I don't know about Europe/the UK but here old Republican views are less government, less taxes and less interference in your life.
Somewhere along the way the parties actually got their values crossed.
You see, the left here is the one who started that bullshit with the PMRC - ratings for movies, tv and records and books.... that's a form of censorship. PMRC wanted more but they bargained to the system it has now.
The right fought to keep this from happening.
From the way you would think... this should have been the right wing wanting censorship and the left fighting it. Quite the opposite.
Abortion - you would think the right with it's small government ideals would be all for allowing one to make her own choice with her own body - but not in this case.
and those are only two instances of mixing up of political party ideas.
Our Constitution is well written. I find it easy to understand and no need for interpretation.
Facism? I think what Obama is doing is closer to facism than whatany republican ever did.
There are extremes on both sides of the aisle. What has gotten lost is the middle.

You're right and I'm for a limited goverment that inteferes less in the lives of ordinary people, with more state and individual rights. We don't need a ballooning goverment that gets their hands in everything, fucks it up, and adds trillions of dollars to the burden of future tax payers.
