If it's CDC numbers, I see they do something kind of tricky that would skew the results... they have four year age brackets until they get to 15, then they create a new 15-24 age bracket.

The violence and suicide deaths in that bracket alone would skew a 'youth' category way too much.

From he top 10 the CDC listed for 2010, looking at birth to 14 years old, homicide and suicide were 913 of the 24,180 deaths that made up the top ten categories.

Still too many either way.

I would just quibble about lumping that last 15-24 bracket into the results.

Here is the chart where I pulled my info from for anyone interested. Note the dramatic increase in that 15-24 bracket when it comes to homicide / suicide:

Judging from all the child abuse stories I see each and every day, it really doesn't surprise me. People are fucking sick.
