BOMBING AT BOSTON MARATHON-GRAPHIC PHOTOS
(07-31-2013, 05:20 AM)Cynical Ninja Wrote: I hope they failed and they sold less copies.

I just read a report that they sold double the issues.

It looks like all that drama over Rolling Stone's recent issue featuring alleged Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on its cover really paid off for the magazine.

The cover, which critics said "glamorized" Tsarnaev, was banned from pharmacies and supermarkets, denounced by Boston's mayor, defended and trashed in the media, and even targeted in a proposed public burning campaign.

But, according to AdWeek, the issue sold more than double Rolling Stone's usual average newsstand sales. Apparently, people wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

The two friends of Tsarnaev who were questioned a couple of months back have been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly interfering with the investigation.

Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, both 19 and nationals of Kazakhstan, were charged Thursday with conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstructing justice with the intent to impede the Boston Marathon bombing probe.

The indictment reportedly accused the two men of going into Tsarnaev's dorm room at Southeastern Massachusetts University after seeing his photo on the news and removing several items, including Tsarnaev's laptop computer and a backpack containing fireworks.

Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov allegedly brought the items back to their apartment in New Bedford, Mass. before disposing of them in a dumpster, the station reports.

The two men could face up to 20 years in prison on the obstruction of justice charge and up to five years in prison on the conspiracy charge.

Cry me a river...

Everybody deserves a defense and Tsarnaev's access to his attorneys should be adequate.

Other than that access, the "dreamy" murderous little dipshit is accused of killing and maiming people as a wanna-be Jihadist and he should, therefore, be treated as the terrorist that he presented himself to be. IMO.

Snip:

Lawyers for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev accused the government of imposing unduly harsh restrictions on their client in a motion filed Wednesday.

Tsarnaev is "in near total isolation," is banned from praying with other inmates and is allowed out of his cell only to meet with lawyers or spend short periods in an outdoor enclosure, court documents said. Crying-into-tissue

Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz asked the attorney general for these special administrative measures after Tsarnaev had been in prison for four months.

Ortiz said the restrictions are necessary as part of what prosecutors call Tsarnaev's "continued desire to incite others to engage in violent jihad," according to the August memorandum included in the court filing.

As evidence, prosecutors cite the 1,000 "unsolicited" letters the 19-year-old Chechnya-born American has received during his five-month incarceration. His lawyers say he has not responded to any of them.

His lawyers, Miriam Conrad and Judy Clarke, argue in court papers that the measures create "obstacles" that have a "dramatic chilling effect on the defense team's ability to prepare a thorough and vigorous defense."

In their motion, Conrad and Clarke argue the measures "violate the First, Fifth and Sixth Amendments to the United States Constitution. The court therefore should declare that the SAMs are unlawful and order that they be vacated."

US ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER APPROVES DEATH PENALTY PROSECUTION FOR TSARNAEV

The final decision was made by Attorney General Eric Holder and was announced today. The twin blasts in April killed three people and wounded more than 260 in one of the most prominent terrorist attacks in the U.S since 9/11.

Prosecutors allege that the 20-year-old Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, ethnic Chechens from Russia who had lived in the Boston area for about a decade, planted two pressure cooker bombs near the finish line. Tamerlan Tsarnaev died in a shootout with police.

Seventeen of 30 charges against Tsarnaev carry the possibility of the death penalty, including using a weapon of mass destruction to kill.

Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty.

That's about as relevant as the looks of a terrorist scumbag is what I'm saying plebs.

Shall we do a survey to ascertain which serial killer or terrorist was the hottest physically?

Story

The investigation into the shooting of Todashev by the FBI agent has concluded. Jeffrey Ashton, the Florida state prosecutor who reviewed the shooting, is expected to make the results public Tuesday. The Justice Department's investigation is also expected to clear the agent.

The family of Todashev ^ had worked with the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the American Civil Liberties Union and defense attorney Barry Cohen to push for more transparency regarding the incident; suggesting that Todashev was shot unjustly when being interrogated about a double murder that he was suspected of carrying out with the bombing suspects the year prior.

According to leaked reports, investigators concluded that after confessing to his participation, Todashev tried to attack the FBI Agent with a pole and was shot in self defense.

Although the official report won't be released til Tuesday, already Todashev's father, CAIR, and the ACLU are starting to dispute it; there are claims that some of Todashev's family and friends have been wrongly arrested and/or deported since the incident 10 months ago.

POST #333 - HOLD THE PRESSES

Snip:
The Washington Post first reported that State Attorney Jeff Ashton won't bring charges against the FBI agent who fatally shot Ibragim Todashev. Anonymous officials also told the Associated Press that the agent had been cleared. However, Ashton released a statement saying a final decision would not be made until Monday.

"The release of purported information is inaccurate and unfair to Mr. Todashev's surviving family and the police officers involved in the incident and their families," Ashton said in a statement. "It also contravenes and frustrates all of the efforts to date by employees of the FBI, DOJ and this office for the orderly and safe release of information."

Guess we'll see Monday or Tuesday whether the FBI agent will be prosecuted for the shooting (which is all but unheard of).

POST #333 AND #335 - RESUME THE PRESSES: FBI AGENT CLEARED IN KILLING OF BOSTON BOMBER ASSOCIATE

Jeff Ashton confirmed today that the Florida State investigation into the shooting death of Todashev cleared the FBI agent/shooter of wrong-doing; it was an act of self-defense. The U.S. Justice Department also concluded Tuesday that there was no basis for federal criminal charges against the FBI agent.

The investigations reportedly revealed that after five hours of interrogation at his Florida home, Todashev admitted that he and Tamberlin Tsarnaev were behind a triple murder in 2012. According to the investigative reports, Todashev was getting twitchy after the confession and asked to go to the bathroom. He then attempted to impale the FBI agent with a long pole, at which point he was shot. But, he lunged again and was shot again.

Do you all remember the pic of the guy in the wheelchair being pushed down the street with the cowboy next to him holding the veins to stop the blood flow because his legs had been blown off? He has a happy ending. He's engaged and pregnant.

One of the victims of the bombings was scheduled to be interviewed on Meet The Press, it was part of some kind of anniversary special, I don't like using that word but whatever. Her condition was that the bombers names not be used, the producers said they'd try but couldn't promise anything. The names were used & she walked out.

Personally, I think that was a lot to ask of the show given it is the one year anniversary, how the hell do you discuss the bombings without mentioning the names of those responsible. Meh. I think she was being unreasonable. Do you?

She said she felt disrespected. C'mon!

If she's suffering from PTSD...she shouldn't be doing interviews.

I thought that too but I also felt maybe I went too far in posting what I did. People feel protective of those bombing victims but I question some of what she's doing.
