Presidential race 2016
Unfortunately there are many parents who don't talk to their kids and/or have abstinence only, strict policies regarding sex before marriage. Hell, u have father's "wedding" their daughters in abstinence pledges. And then there are those who would just beat the shit out of their son or daughter for being sexually active. Those kids need resources outside the home. Places they can go for advice, contraception, medical testing etc.

Why would any sane person want to have unwanted children brought into this world. Why? Why saddle a kid with a crappy life? I'm not talking about late term abortions either, women need to handle that in the early stages, not when it's moving around and easily identifiable as a baby. Children who are not wanted have horrible lives, we read about some of them in the crime forum.

No, that just means you're mind is made up and you or I will never change. Both arguments have some valid points. I realize you will never change and that's fine too. My thoughts have been shown and that's good enough for me. There is no win or lose.

Why is adoption never brought up anymore? There are waiting lists all over the country.

Good question. I don't know the answer to it. I know a group of people who went to China to get their babies and I know others who spent obscene amounts of money on one procedure or another trying to get pregnant. I think these days women follow through with their pregnancies whether they can afford to raise a child or not.

I'm not sure what the appeal is to adopt from other countries when there are so many babies and kids that need adopted in our own country.
I believe a lot of women go through pregnancies because they're having everything handed to them for free as soon as the kid is born.

I support PP only for the free birth control and whatever services they offer to prevent a pregnancy. I don't support them being involved with abortion in any way, shape or form.

We all know that planned abstinence is ridiculous and unworkable. But what other options have we provided for to prevent unwanted pregnancy?
As I stated upthread, my daughter knows more about the contraceptives available to her than I do because we have this new thing called the information highway or the internet which even the poorest kids in the US have access to. I never got my condoms from PP. My son never got his from PP. My father provided them for me as I did my son. They aren't expensive and as the parent of a male child I felt that it was my responsibility to make sure he had them when he started sticking his dick into girls his age who were willing. In most cases, the girls (most of them he was seeing were project girls because they were easy) were prepared with their condoms of choice which were also not provided by PP. These are all questions I got by simply talking to my child when he was sexually active. Does this not occur in poor families? Maybe it should.
If you leave your child's sexual education to the internet you're a bigger fool than you sound like. The internet can't even decide whether or not butt selfies or doing the Nae Nae is the next big thing. God help your kids if that's how you taught them sex ed.
Thank goodness you're so enlightened, though. Now if you could only convince the other 325 million citizens of this country that you have found the correct method of birth control and that they all need to do it your way, that would be great. Thanks, dude, you"re a pal. Shouldn't take you more than a couple decades.
Son - 28 has his degree in business and gave me 2 granddaughters (3-and 5, pics are in the members photo thread). Daughter is 18, just became sexually active this year and is very careful not to get pregnant because she understands that the plans she has for the future get pushed back 18 years or more if she gets knocked up. Is currently using what she researched and prefers over the pill. I did my sex education one on one with my kids and they took it from there. You seem to have some trouble comprehending the content of my words so I will spell it out for you. Read this very slowly so that you don't miss anything. I put in all caps so that you can see it easily. KIDS TODAY ARE NOT IGNORANT TO FORMS OF CONTRACEPTIVES AVAILABLE TO THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET DONO. PP IS NOT THE ONLY SOURCE OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE. Lastly, I don't see it being the responsibility of me or anyone else other than the parents of the children to enlighten anyone. Parents should take the responsibility for raising their children and educating them in such matters. To suggest that this responsibility lies with anyone else is completely asinine.

I don't know of any kids that get there sex education or condoms from PP, I don't think most teenagers would even know what the fuck planned parenthood is if you asked them. In fact I just asked my son out of curiosity and he said he never fucking heard of it, but yet I've seen condoms in his drawer while looking for my phone charger that keeps disappearing.

It's a really easy concept, you just tell your kids that they better use a condom unless they want stds, a baby or both. End of conversation and hopefully they take your advice.

@blindgreed just because your kids are shiny unicorns that sprang full grown from your golden butthole, doesn't mean everyone's kids are so blessed or lucky. To assume as much would be even more asinine than pretending PP isn't a necessary tool for many. What you are saying, both you and Sally, is that Planned Parenthood and similar organizations have had zero effect on your kids and have not positively or negatively touched your lives in any way.

If that is the case, why do you care if it exists for those not so fortunate or blessed? What the fuck is it to you? Mind your goddamn business, enjoy your totally well-adjusted and perfectly formed children, and let other less perfect people muddle through life decisions with a helping hand when they need it.

All I'm saying is that the only PP we have here is down in the ghetto and mostly caters to women and teenage girls already knocked up. I don't think there are many teenagers driving around saying "hey dude, lets take a drive into the ghetto so I can cop some free condoms for tonight". They just stop at CVS. I don't have anything to back it up, but I just have a hunch that most teens don't know anything about PP unless they're a teenage girl already pregnant.

I never said I cared if it exists or not.

Nah, I'm mostly talking to daddy of the century and Maggot. PP is generally forced in to the absolute poorest neighborhoods by a combination of factors: greater need among teens, resistance from community, and busybodies using political clout to block the building or opening of facilities. We are one of the most backward "civilized nations" in the world when it comes to sex education of any kind. Those constant efforts to marginalize and vilify such agencies are the reason your kids don't know of it or utilize it. Nothing else.

I beginning to think donut is on to something here. I guess its fine to let the ghetto go right ahead and kill their unborn and each other for a bit. PP will be right at home there.

Their parents are responsible. Regardless of income. I'm a single father who raised both kids by myself with no help from mom or the state or anybody. We weren't even middle class. It comes down to giving a fuck about your kids and making sure they don't knock someone up or get knocked up. You can make all of the claims you want to. Doesn't make them valid.

So ghetto children lives are slightly less sanctified than regular (coughcough*white*) ones? Starting to really wear that screen name well, maggot.

BG, there are a shit ton of parents that just don't give a shit. Surely you're aware of that. They won't help themselves let alone their kids. Why are you so obstinate about this? Good for you for all that you've accomplished with your kids but it's not like that for everyone.

Once again, congratulations on your achievement. You did your fucking job as a parent. You may have a cookie. That does not change the fact that not every child is blessed with two, or one, or even zero good parents. Just because you, one man, managed to get your kids grown without fucking it up doesn't mean every other person in the world is similarly equipped. Some people are absolute shit parents and last time I checked there was no monopoly on which parents would turn out fine and no licensing requirement for squirting out a kid.
So why would you punish those kids who you personally didn't have time to raise the right way by withholding a necessary service that could fill that gap?
I tell you why, both you and the maggot: because at the end of the day it's a lot easier to judge than to help.
