Desert island discs

Screw your Toucans. I don't think meerkats and baby panda bears live on islands, but they do now.

I love my toucans already. They're indigenous to desert island environments, laid-back and resilient.

Unfortunately, research indicates that meerkats and baby panda bears become extremely aggressive outside of the their natural habitats; they are prone to attacking and devouring humans when placed in desert island environments (ref: page 436, Ultimate Survivors Guide).

There's good news, though. The Blob Fish is found in abundance in the waters immediately surrounding desert islands. They live a rather long life, are low-maintenance, and they have a genetic predisposition to heroin addiction.

Give a Blob Fish a little H twice a day, and you'll have yourself a long-term faithful companion, sal.

Give a man a blob and you feed him for a day, teach a man how to catch a blob and you feed him for life.

Now why you gotta post a picture like that when I al ready declared a ceasefire against Ninja? You know how many jokes I have to waste now?
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

That blob fish is adorable. I wouldn't even compare you and CN to him.

You like fish, don't you? This isn't the first time I've seen you compliment one. Didn't you have a salt water tank at one time?

I had a saltwater, but when the last fish finally died I turned it to freshwater. Fresh water aquariums are a lot easier to take care of, but the fish aren't as colorful.

My dad had a big tropical aquarium the sheer amount of time he invested looking after it made me vow never ever to have one myself.

My daughter has got a goldfish that refuses to die and cleaning that is fucking real pain.

This notion that maggotyboo is some kind of misunderstood closet genius with hidden depths is.......hilarious.

He's a common garden moron in plain view as deep as a puddle of urine in a biker bar rest room.

Desert island discs isn't a test or a quiz its pointless cheating you are just cheating on yourself, its like going on Inside the Actors Studio and telling lies! “I beat the system!” What are you talking about? So suspicious! Everythings a trick!

Sally hasn't been real receptive to my 'story a day' proposal.

Perhaps I need to approach her in a different way?

You shoulda got 'em in before he accepted the terms of the truce. Smiley_emoticons_wink

I get ceasing the repetitive insult flaming, makes sense.

But, I do enjoy the smart/funny mockery from you guys when you're passionate about a difference of opinion, or just having fun.

Trusting this ceasefire doesn't mean a sea of obligatory politeness and non-stop compliments. Wait...what am I saying? I've met you both. Nevermind....

IDK, CN.

Just because you fail to see something, doesn't mean it's hidden to others.

Just because someone followed your example of what a none practical luxury item entails and didn't spell every detail out for you, doesn't make them a cheater. To me, you sound very suspicious and off base continuing to bang that drum.

The only reason that Maggot was the subject of discussion between you and I is because I challenged your assertion that you'd stopped flaming altogether, and I used your flaming of Maggot in this thread as an example. Your opinion of Maggot doesn't matter to me or affect my opinion of him (and I'd be very surprised if he gave a shit about your assessment of him).

You say that it's not flaming when you do it to people who you apparently like or respect less than others, because you're just pointing out their (perceived) weaknesses. I disagree. I say flaming is flaming. Doesn't much matter at this point. I'm indifferent about flaming anyway and everyone here can handle whatever you throw at them, no matter what you call it.

So, we've exchanged opinions and it's easy enough to agree to disagree and stop short of beating a dead horse here.

Anyway, I thought the Desert Island Discs exercise was really interesting, CN.

P.s. I do agree that the responses to the exercise shed light as to the strong vs. the weak, the survivor vs. the quitter, the optimist vs. the pessimist...

Well I don't consider pointing out stupidity to be flaming.

Regardless of what your opinion is of maggotyboo as a person (and I don't dislike him) choosing a dictionary as your only book IS stupid.

Sorry, it just is and it would be no matter who said they would choose it I would have called them on it, the fact it was maggotyboo is incidental.

Even if you think the dictionary choice is stupid, CN, I don't see how choosing it translates into someone being a common garden moron in plain view, but it is what it is.

Personally, the dictionary would be much higher on my list than a coffee table picture book, for my own practical reasons. But, I don't think choosing the coffee table book makes you a moron either.

Anyway, a plane (stocked with full bar) spotted the smoke signals that I was sending out, just like the Ultimate Survivors Guide said it would.

You've gone offroad again!

The WHOLE POINT of desert island discs is that you are hopelessly lost on the island you are NEVER leaving. Because you know you are never leaving that's the catalyst to make you think very carefully about what songs and book and luxury item. See?

If I think I might get off the island I couldn't give a shit what I pick because I'm coming home one day! Who cares?

It isn't a logical puzzle to escape the island! You don't win or solve desert island discs!

“Yes I conquered desert island discs!” Makes no sense at all.
