Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered

What makes you think this? I'm not saying I diagree, but why do you say they weren't there? Because Tiffany was on the phone?

Is it at all possible they weren't supposed to die? I've asked myself that more than once.

Those kids don't appear to have a mark on them, no, I didn't see Lisa but I cannot imagine her parents letting her be viewed if she was flawed.

I think I'm forgetting a lot of what I've read & reading this thread looking for bits & pieces of what I question seems daunting. Was the evidence taken from the home listed? I recall talk of steak knives recently. Bah! I feel like the member that asked for cliff notes.

this link mentions what was taken:

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvg/story?sectio...id=7940106

from the link above - The list goes on, showing, in the master bedroom, investigators took dinars, currency of Iraq and other countries. Throughout the house, they gathered DNA swabs.

Probably making too much of it, but gathering DNA swabs, throughout the house, makes it sound like lots of blood, maybe ?? Why not say, gathering fingerprints? I'm letting my mind wander...

edited to add - forgot my other thought...about the dinars. Does anyone think there was blood on the currency ?? Why take them as evidence?

Damn, I am loving this thread and all of the background you locals and former locals are giving on Toledo. Thank you all! This ought to be a John Grishom book. Maybe it will be. Lets hope if that happens it ends with the perps in prison.

Johnny's Mother: "I want to know where my son and his girlfriend are at. I want to know if they got abducted by whoever tried to assault them and rob them."

Yes, I see lots of people on here think Maytee knew something was going down before it happened. I struggle with this. I feel like she was saying this just to try and escalate the situation to 911 dispatch since LE wasn't doing too much. But, why, why would Maytee have used those words? Did someone threaten her that they were going to kidnap and/or harm her son?

very odd choice of words, indeed. i can't decide where i stand with maytee. sometimes i feel like she knows something more (even if she is not involved directly) and sometimes i just chalk everything up that she says to her being a little loony (and grieving the loss of her son).

people have been saying it all along and i'm going to repeat it... there is something that is just not right about this whole thing. it's unsettling... especially when you look closely at some of the possible players. i think that's part of what makes this case so intriguing to many.

Every article and every friend says Johnny did not get along with his mother.
Some say they did not even speak. How then would she know where the
key to Straub's house is and see people use it several times? She has
stalked before, I stay she stalked this house I am not saying she set up
her son but I am saying he was at the wrong place at the wrong time
and he was the direct link to her. So when the 'stash' was not in the house
when the folk to whom Maytee and possibly John owed big money to,
then the "if it takes a 100 years" philosophy took life.

Note - I always thought Johnny knew the first person (if what Tiff says is
true) but did not know the second person. In gangs, friends and enemies
can be one and the same.

PS. I will find it, but I trul believe that Maytee was the VERY first
person to say the word "safe" in the polie and tv interviews. That was
the red herring to me.

so they will have DNA samples of EVERYONE who was in that house for party and on night of killing. now they will pore over their facts and evidence and get warrants for DNA samples of perhaps all parties.

Yeah, I think we're in the same neighborhood! I also think that's what happened, that it escalated. I just wish LE would say something, but then again, I wouldn't want them to tip their hand either..ugggghhhh! 54

The rumors of possible abuse perpetrated on LS are, if true, horrible and sad; but if true it does add to the likelihood that DNA found the night of the crime can be distinguishable from that left the night before, even if, as some have suggested, the perpetrators had been in the house both nights.

Just a thought.

One thing we haven't talked much about...

The safe. If there was talk of a safe with $100's and $50's and Johnny told people he knew the combination and that he fanned himself with the cash, then the intruders definitely wanted Johnny there. And what better way to get in the house than to have Johnny open the door himself. How do you get Johnny to open the door? Have Tiffany on the phone with him so she can tell you when he is going to open the door and walk out.

If the safe is what they were after, LC it seems you think so, then they would want Johnny in the house and definitely not want Lisa's parents there.

Blush Hubby walked past while I was posting and he saw the priest smiley that I put in one my post and said what's that, I said a priest, he said yeah, that's what your gonna need soon, an exorcism if you keep going to that site! Of course he can watch cars going in circles for hours and see's absolutely nothing wrong with that! Smiley_emoticons_shocked

OH, I hope he is not a Jeff Gordon fan, as Jeff just got spun out. Wow,
wish I knew a man (single) who liked those cars going around in circles.
I know them all and my son will call me from work and say, "Mom, I
have a fifty dollar bet on these three questions, asking me who drives
what car, who sponsors or owns another car, etc." He has won some
good money that way. lol You can take the girl out of the country but
not the coutnry out of the girl. OH, wish for country. Go you Nascar niggas.
Does that sound awful or what? ROFL

It's more than that.
If LE seeks to implicate the perpetrators by the testimony of one or more persons there, it is so important, for their credibility, that they be able to provide details corroborating what was found at the crime scene that they could not have read about in the newspaper or heard on TV.

Curious after you type you post, click on Preview Post, and the smileys will come up on the left side of your post. First put your cursor where you want the smiley in your post then double click on the smiley you want. Then before you post hit Preview Post again to see if it is there and if it is where you want it.

But I am curious, which theory do you all think is correct?

Choices:
1. It was Lisa's ex-boyfriend
2. It was a robbery, looking for drugs and/or safe
3. It was a revenge killing. Johnny messed with someone's money, they are making a statement.
4. It was gang related
5. It has to do with the people who were involved with the robberies Johnny helped commit when he was younger
I think 3-5 are reasonable, but IDK that I think Johnny messed with the money, I think it's possible this was revenge against Maytee or even possibly his dad. I think the people are involved in gangs, but isn't directly related to the gang.

#2 They absolutely destroyed the master bedroom looking for the safe.

revenge is my thought, BUT I do think someone wanted something in that home, really bad, that night, so I have to put #2, in the mix..

It just seems that they left so many things behind if it was a robbery. Even small things, like jewelry, that would be easy to steal.

It also needs to be decided if the intruders went in with the premeditated intention of killing the couple or if it was a last minute happening, meaning the bags and tape were already at the house.

If it was a robbery, I would think there were only two perps. They would've had to subdue the couple, then do all the ransacking.

If it was a revenge killing, there would've been more than two perps, to fight with Johnny and Lisa causing all the blood while one or two ransack the house to make it appear to be a robbery gone bad.

yeah, you would think they'd have at least grabbed some jewelry, I don't know. I can understand the perps bringing their own duct tape, but the plastic bags, throw me a little. I wonder what type of plastic bags ... like how large were they, would be nice to know. If they're like large 33 gal trash bags, or medium sized, or small? Not sure where I'm going with this, lol

According to Maytee's interview w/JW, Maytee said that Johnny's friends had said that Johnny was watching the Pro Bowl w/them & that he was going to pick up Lisa from work. They had people coming over later.
Well according to Tiffany, Johnny/Lisa asked her on the phone if she wanted to come over for a little bit- this was AFTER Johnny had already picked up Lisa. Tells me if Maytee is right, that what Tiffany was allegedly talking to Johnny about, was not about an invite to come over, but something else.
It's the hint of arsenic that gives it that extra kick.

Absolutely. Like...specific details about the possible stabings, rape, details about the bags, the tape, and many many other things that we don't even know about, and won't until this whole mess has been settled.
