Children Who Kill
My wife wonders why I get so nervous if our kids are out of sight even in front of our house.

It's because you never know where evil is lurking.

Let's feed this kid to the sharks.

In this sick case, the evil was lurking inside the house.

^ Robert and Patricia Cogdell, both 66, were murdered on July 21st in Conway, Arkansas. Their bodies were found in the woods by their home.

The Cogdells had a 14-year-old grandson living with them, Justin Staton. He'd recently been released from juvenile hall. Turns out the little piece of shit and one of his older juvie buddies killed the grandparents in their own home, robbed them, and dumped their bodies in the woods. Then they went on a road trip with a couple of friends who were also at the home when the murders went down.

Today, ^ 17-year-old Hunter Drexler (left) and 14-year-old Justin Staton (right) were charged with capital murder, robbery and abuse of a corpse.

According to an affidavit filed with the charges, a 17-year-old boy who was at the home at the time of the attack told officers the plan had been conceived while all three were in juvenile jail together.

"Justin's plan was to shoot and kill his grandparents, split a large sum of money and credit cards between the three of them and then they would all run away," the affidavit said. "Justin estimated their take at $50,000 to $90,000."

A 17-year-old girl also at the home when the Cogdells were shot told police that Robert Cogdell didn't die immediately and was "choking and gurgling" on the floor outside his bedroom. "She told Justin that he needed to do something about the noise Robert was making and suggested that Robert be put out of his misery," the affidavit said. "Justin walked over and shot Robert 1 or 2 times."

Drexler and the other teenagers were detained in Texas days after the killings and found with some of Robert Cogdell's personal and work credit cards. The other teenagers were not charged with any crimes.

11-Year-Old Shoots 8-Year-Old to Death Over Puppy

This is so fucking sad and maddening.

A little girl in White Pine, Tennessee and her friend were outside playing on Saturday. A neighbor boy showed the girls his puppy through his bedroom window and then asked 8-year-old McKayla Dyer to show him her puppy. McKayla giggled and said 'no'.

^ McKayla then turned to say something to her friend. That's when the 11-year-old neighbor boy shot her to death through his bedroom window with his dad's shotgun.

The 11-year-old has been charged with first degree murder. He has not been named publicly and his court appearance today was closed because he's a minor.

I sure as hell hope that the 11-year-old's dad is charged with neglect and/or endangerment. The 11-year-old should never have had unsupervised access to a loaded gun, or an unlocked gun and ammo.

Because of another irresponsible gun-owning parent, another set of parents has lost their child forever.

RIP McKayla Dyer.

8-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH MURDER OF 1-YEAR-OLD -- ALABAMA

Kelci Lewis was 17-months-old. Her mother, Katerra Lewis - 26 (pictured above with Kelci), took her children to a friend's house on October 11th. The women then went out to the club, leaving the children home with no adult supervision. The children were aged 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8.

When Kelci started crying, the 8-year-old beat her until she stopped and put her back in the crib.

The two women did not realize anything was wrong with the baby until the next morning. Kelci was rushed to the hospital, but the baby was pronounced dead. The six-year-old told police what happened.

The murder charge for the 8-year-old, who is in the care of Alabama’s child welfare agency, is unusual but not unheard of. In October, an 11-year-old boy was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting an 8-year-old neighbor who would not show him her puppies.

There is no minimum age for prosecution in Alabama, said Tobie Smith, co-director of the Southern Juvenile Detention Center. The boy’s case will move through the state’s family court.

There “are going to be very serious questions about whether an 8-year-old has the rational capacity for the proceedings against him,” Smith told the AP. “… They’re gonna take a real look at whether maybe this is more a matter of parental culpability than child culpability.”

At a news conference Tuesday, Lt. Sean Edwards, a spokesman for the Birmingham Police Department, said that the 8-year-old probably will require “extreme intervention.” “I believe the 8-year-old is going to require some intense counseling for the next several years,” he said.

Kelci's Mom Katerra Lewis has been charged with manslaughter. Edwards said that the manslaughter charge is aimed at “sending a message that this type of behavior, this type of irresponsibility on behalf of a parent, is totally unacceptable.”

RIP Kelci Lewis.

Same thing happened here about a month ago.

A young mother went to the club leaving her 3 youngsters at home, with the oven on and the oven door open (to heat the home).

Sure enough, fire starts, burns the house down and kills the three children.

At first mom lied and said she had been in the house (she must've come home at the exact time the FD was arriving), but the authorities couldn't understand how she got out A) without any of her kids and B) with no remnants of smoke or soot on her.

Unreal what people are doing these days to 'get out.'

When my older kids were babies I was fortunate enough to have my mom to babysit them. I don't have that anymore which is why we go to Disney World so much. Bloody Mary's in the morning at the resort pool while she plays, afternoon doing the rides and crap, dinner at Epcot with more booze and watching the fireworks, and back to the resort for karaoke and sushi which by that time she passes out in her stroller. We have it all figured out and everybody wins, all without having to drive anywhere.

Of course, are you nuts? I don't take my eyes off that kid. That's my worst fear in life is something happening to one of my my kids, that's why we take her everywhere with us. I've never trusted anyone but my mom to watch them and I don't have that anymore. I'm dreading her going to kindergarten next year.

Probably better off happening now than when the kid gets older and starts gangbanging. Now he will get the attention he never had or ever would have had. Hopefully the parents are charged and never see the child again. I should say "Mother" as his Father was probably never even a part of his young life truly. I cannot for 1 second blame the child.

UPDATE:
11-year-old Benny Tiller was found guilty of murdering 8-year-old McKayla today.

He shot and killed his young neighbor after she, her sister, and her friend refused to go get McKayla's puppies when he demanded. He told McKayla he had guns and she laughed, figuring he was joking (according to her friend and sister).

Tiller had received training in gun safety and hunted with his father and grandfather. He was a good shot.

Tiller will be in the custody of the state until he's 19, probably in intensive treatment facilities.

I don't know if his parents, the people who gave him unsupervised access to guns, have been charged. I think they should be.

I'll never believe that an 11 yr. old is emotionally mature enough to have access to guns. I don't care care what any of these nutjob gun owners in here say. Chances are they think the same way that little bastard's parents did. My little Johnny would never do something like that. Nononono. 78

What a senseless tragedy, RIP McKayla.

Agree, the boy's parents should go to jail as well! They are every bit, if not more to blame!

It's infuriating. How can a parent not know their kid is unhinged or has anger management issues?

Some parents are in denial, and others know. But, how to best address it is not always clear.

Anyway, most of the cases of children pulling the trigger don't involve unhinged or angry kids. They just involve "kids".

No matter how many times the kids have been told not to touch the guns without mom or dad, or given safety education, they're curious and their brains aren't developed enough to connect actions and consequences in the same way as rational adults.

Unlocked loaded guns shouldn't be accessible to unsupervised kids, period, no matter the nature of the specific kid. It's extremely negligent for any parent or guardian to take that risk with their own child's life and the lives of others, in my opinion. McKayla is dead because Benny Tiller's parents were irresponsible gun owners / negligent parents.

Alaska -- First Graders Busted for Murder Plot

Weird story. A group of first graders in Anchorage, Alaska were engaged in a feud with another first grader.

So, they decided to kill the child by using silica gel to poison his/her (not specified) lunch. Silica gel is the substance commonly found in product packaging.

Another classmate at the Winterberry School overhead the plot and told a teacher. The little would-be poisoners were questioned and admitted to the poison plot.

Well, contrary to what the first-graders believed, silica gel would not have killed their enemy. And, given that the children involved in the poison plot are too young to be held accountable for their intentions/actions, they won't face any legal repercussions.

Discipline was left up to the school district. An email to parents of first-graders in the class says it entailed "significant consequences", and it's since been reported that the children have been suspended.

Man, when I was in first grade, the worst kinds of revenge were sought with water balloons or garden rocks.
