(Atlanta, Georgia-AP) March 20, 2006 - A bill that allows public high schools to offer classes on the Bible sped through the Georgia House Monday, passing overwhelmingly with no debate.

The legislation, which passed 151-7, would allow high schools to form elective courses on the history and literature of the Old Testament and New Testament eras. The classes would focus on the law, morals, values and culture of the eras.

...

Republicans quickly substituted their own version, which specifies that the Bible itself would be the course textbook.

The measure easily passed the GOP-controlled Senate last month by a 50-1 vote.

Unless they removed God from the Bible, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

you said you could prove evolution, and now it's theory?

WTFIWWY?

evolution is taught in the schools, tell me what redeeming quality it has? tell me that it will help a kid make a right decision based on morality.

The bible is taught in public schools, you mean along with all the ism's I mentioned I'm sure you just decided to leave that out because it was unimportant to your position.

The bible is not taught in public schools, it's illegal unless it is taught along with every other religion around the world and the teacher don't make a mistake and teach anything about the bible as being real, it all has to be taught as theory.

By the way is evolution taught as an elective like religion? or is it taught in science class you know a mandatory class/ subject?

Oh well you tried.

I'm just sickened. You are a lost cause.

Religion isn't science. RELIGION ISN'T SCIENCE.

You would rather kids stay ignorant so they will be religious.

Evolution is proven. It is a FACT. Most people don't know what evolution even means. They think it means we have a common ancestor that was a monkey because they would rather stay ignorant than actually read a book about it. The theory of evolution IS proven. Species DO adapt and mutate over time. THAT is what evolution means.

From the Georgia Performance Standards 7th grade SCIENCE:

Misconceptions: (What students think) (and what stupid adults thinK)
Evolution means “man from monkey.”
Evolution no longer occurs.
Evolution is “only a theory.”
Fossils are only found in sedimentary rocks.
Evolution is an origin of life/a belief system.
Evolution is something an organism does on purpose.
Individual organisms change to meet the needs of their environment.

Adam and Eve: Or The Greatest Evolution Story Evah Told

God created Adam and Eve.

They humped.

All men are sons of Adam, all women daughters of Eve.

Some are black, some are brown, some are red, some are yellow, some are white.

The end!

Evolution is uncontrolled, it can't be directed and specific so I guess I would like to have a bigger dick but there is no guarantee that I won't just turn into a bigger dick, evolution is so fickle.

I believe in God, I'm educated by nuns but I don't put God out there as a solution, I rarely even talk about my beliefs. I see so many people comment on him & nine out of ten times I don't even recognize the God that others worship.

God doesn't make deals & he doesn't play favorites among his children. I don't think he makes life better for some & not for others.

It was just a comment on the promise of Hope. No solutions.

Like buying a lottery ticket.

Hope with pocket change.
