Hurricane Irene
What a dud. The media is like the loud kid at a funeral.

IDK, Maggot. The storm surges that came in after the hurricane have flooded many areas in NC from Wilimington to VA Beach. Downed trees are the major hazard. That's what always scews people after storms, the trees.

I've decided to no longer have compassion for those that exhibit absolutely NO common sense. Fuck 'em. They all deserve exactly what they get.

i am happy as hell Irene has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. Smiley_emoticons_hurra3

wind gusts are stiff here, but she has not actually arrived yet. let me tell you, i have been worried! the status change helped my frame of mind a lot. i put a new roof on this house 2 years ago, but i am surrounded by very big trees in my yard and backed up to woodland. one beautiful 60-ft. spruce in my back yard would come right through the kitchen if it was uprooted.

edit to add, i'm already having brownouts. 52Argh

my big spruce looks like this one---->

A firefighter in Jersey died because of a swift water rescue he attempted.

I love my country & all the freedoms I enjoy being an American but more & more I can see the appeal of some things that a dictatorship implies & when I can, in a bizarre way, relate to Hilter, there's a big fuckin' problem.

I suppose it's also a big problem that I think I'm better than many people too...most will think the worst with that statement & not take it as I intended. 86

When I'm in a room with 12 or 14 people and I want to know who I can trust, I drop a quarter on the floor and see who picks it up.

anyone who is too good to pick up a quarter off the floor I wouldn't trust.

I would pick it up simply because I know someone who has a big interest in the state quarters so I'd want to see if I could give it to my little friend.

Luck was with us in our area. Lights flickered a couple of times, but never went out. Predictions from the media for here on Thursday, Friday, & even yesterday were ominous. Saying due to all the old large trees in this state, the likelyhood of those trees snapping & taking out the power lines all over the state was a certainty. And then went on to say that the power would likely be out for several days.
Some areas shown on the news were hit harder then ours, & did lose power, my sympathy goes out to them.
Tons of small branches to clean up tomorrow.

You know the looters are pissed off. Now they have to play their Xbox in black and white until next hurricane season.

Looters would be dealt with around here with broken legs. Possibly de-capitation then their shoes would be taken.

I'd suck that bitch up with the vacuum cleaner. My husband has a fit when he hears me doing that, but he's not the one who cleans the house day after fucking day.
