regarding the argument with law enforcement...Capatain Steve Young interviewed.

I like this Capt Young too, LC. He's a straight shooter IMO. He stated in this video that the animated discussion was because the parent's thought there were new developments so they rushed to the com center and there weren't. As of this video about 1:30 CT he said the com center was staying open, wonder what's up now.

I'm afraid I would have been "animated" before now if she was mine.

LC do you think LE is trying to rattle them? Capt Young sure looked rattled.
No mention of lawyering up, maybe that's tomorrow's statement.

This woman appears articulate and well put together, might bode well for the baby. Plus this family has put $$ into photos of Lisa, don't see that in neglect cases usually. Mom was more literate than I expected from the few pic's we've seen of her, (How shallow is that?)

So frustrating indeed with the turns in this case. I'll be watching the news at 10pm to see if any new information has come out of this.

susan smith had lots of photos of her boys. so did casey skank anthony. ad nauseum.

they have every right to legal counsel and should have it. i won't infer anything from that. innocent people need counsel.

i have no idea whether mom is "literate".

they both clearly have some domestic history.

who the hell knows what happened in that house. i really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt from the first, but my wishful thinking is evaporating into my cynicism. the entire scenario had problems from the start.

Conflicting reports that they are and they aren't helping the police now on the news. It seems they'll be releasing a statement on this matter tomorrow from the family.

Police tape has been taken down around the house and news crews say that the neighborhood is in confusion about the supposed 180 on their assistance. The police also restated that they don't have any suspects at this time.

The mother is also staying in another house in another neighborhood from what's being said.

I don't know, my mind is being made up about them. Please let me be proved wrong!

we won't be told results of course, but i want to know if both parents took polys at the very outset. that is routinely done. now we have a report (above) the mom "failed" a poly.

also...almost everyone knows cell phones can be tracked by pings. so why would a brazen kidnapper take 3 of them? it would be like leaving a trail if they were used. it wasn't to prevent 911 calls. anyone can run to a neighbor or babydaddy could well have had a work phone in his pocket when he came home as far as kidnapper knew.

so who would want to dispose of cell phones? of course the police will have those records in a new york second.

i also have a problem with that window being an entry point. all my melinda duckett cut screen flags went up.

i suppose all will be revealed in coming days. soon i hope. poor baby. :(

I get a strange vibe from the father, like he is straining to look sad/sincere. He seems like the one that is always looking down, but his eyes are darting around. I tend to believe the mother more, but I noticed in both interviews - yesterday's and this morning's - that she occasionally looks at the father as if for affirmation or agreement. He does not seem to respond to those looks, but just keeps looking down.

I wish they showed when he spoke this morning, but the TV station was showing footage of the house and surrounding area during that part of the interview.

from Today Show, video not up yet:

Today show:

mom admitted on Friday that she had failed a voluntary lie-detector test that was administered by police.

“They said that I failed, and I continue to say that’s not possible because I don’t know where she’s at,’’ Bradley said. “I did not do this. I don’t remember which one (question) it was. They just kept saying I failed, I failed, and I said that’s not possible. What do you say when someone tells you that, and you know you didn’t do anything?’’

dad has not taken a lie-detector test but said he would undergo one if necessary.
“I’d be willing to do whatever it takes to bring my daughter Lisa home where she belongs, and if that’s what it takes, that’s what we can do,’’ Irwin said.

“We don’t care what anybody says or thinks, or what (police) think,’’ Bradley said. “Our concern is to find our Lisa and bring her home because that’s what we want. I don’t care what we have to go through to get it.’’

WHY hasn't he been polygraphed yet??

LC, Could the police be lying to her about failing a question on the lie detector to get her to "break"? A psychological game?

police ARE allowed to lie. she says they flat-out accused her. it's possible. they have not appeared to me to be playing hardball with them prior to last night, but it's quite possible.

It was not known whether they were going back to their home, or if they were staying with relatives

This mother looks sincerely distraught, looks like a mother who has no idea where her daughter could be...the looks to the father, I think she may just not know what to say or do at this point. I can see why she would be pissed if she really had nothing to do with the disappearance, if they kept telling her she failed, but she knows she didn’t....I think I would be flipping out too. Because I would feel they are looking at me wasting time, when they should be looking at others. The information that the father hasn’t taken a polygraph, WHY? Everyone involved should have taken one to be eliminated as a possible suspect.

I just don’t know yet, I am still on the fence about this...I still feel the mom is innocent, I just don’t know about anyone else that is within the household.

The conflicting statements completely baffle me. Until there is another presser with the Capt standing next to the parents, and making the same statements as the parents, I have to assume the parents are either lying.

I hope she's found soon.

"They said I failed (a polygraph test)," Bradley, 25, told the Associated Press. "And I continued to say that's not possible because I don't know where she's at and I did not do this."

Irwin, 28, said he also offered to take a test but that police said that was not necessary.

Kansas City police spokesman Steve Young declined to comment Thursday on whether the parents have been tested, citing the ongoing investigation.
