So, whatcha buying for the holidays?
#41
I have heard that, as well, but do I want to take a chance? Someone has their heart set on a laptop.

This is true...I went to Best Buy a few days before Christmas last year and I didn't see any good deals going on IMO. And, the stuff that was on sale was all sold out. But of course, the display models were still 'on display', but they wouldn't sell those...assholes!!

Well couldn't you have said that straight up instead of making me think she's a long suffering woman putting up with your unromantic ass?

I don't mind letting you suffer with your pre concieved notions about me, it's entertaining for me.

Not buying much this year, never really do anymore. GF will get some shiny in a fuzzy box.
Everyone else is getting stuff I made, Soap, Wine, Beer, Bread, couple getting some iron stuff I made in my blacksmithing activities. Got a box to send to the grandkids, little stuff we gather up through the year and I'll throw in a couple hundred$ for their mom to put wherever it will work the best. Daughter is also getting a couple soap molds, she is discovering she is more my daughter than she knew.
Seriously thinking about going commercial with the soap making if anyone is interested

Those are always my favorite gifts. I'm grown so I already have stuff. Something that somebody made is much more valuable than something they picked up at the mall.

Do you do the Renaissance Festival for real? I love going! I don't dress or eat the turkey legs, but I adore the shows and the ale and the birds of prey.

I buy stuff all year, too, then usually forget to send it with the package.

Maybe you can talk LC into a commerce forum. Although I would probably just post a link to a website if you want Mockers to purchase your wares ~ most of us are paranoid. haha

These are good if you don't want him shooting birds or cats:

Of course, put it in front of a fence.

Another good target is a pizza box with a rag hanging inside that traps the bbs. You can recover the bbs that way, too. The pellets might go straight through, not sure.

Pellet traps are made of steel:

If you live in the same state as Maggot, he would probably make you one out of an old washing machine.

I got him a target similar to your top pic, it has 3 discs of varying size. We have a dirt and stone embankment in the yard, that goes up about 10 feet, the kids already use it as a backdrop for their Bow targets, so no worries about hitting neighbors.

I like the idea of the pellet trap, though, I could only find lead pellets around here. At one point, I was going to ask Maggot if there was someplace up here that sold pellets in somewhat large quantities. The sporting goods store in my area sells these little tiny cans for $8.00.

Use carpet in the box 2 layers about and inch apart, it will stop the pellets also, I had an indoor range for the kids when they were young and had BB guns.

You may need to order them online, but that is close to how much they cost. I think they might make plastic pellets, but I don't know how accurate those are.

I had my Daisy for years and years. My older brother got the good air rifle with pump action, I got the one that didn't have the rifled barrel and was mostly plastic. I outshot him often so I was moved up to a .22. We kept that Daisy by the door for years to shoot dogs that came into our yard. (Range justice. It didn't break the skin, but would sting a bit.) I have a couple poodle notches on my belt. hahahaha Of course, that was back in the day when your yard was YOUR yard and all the little bastards stayed out of it. My neighborhood thinks they are buying my yard, too. Fuckers.

Wanna smoke a lil' weed, Paco? I'm done for the day, my holiday starts now. I turned the ringer off on every goddamn thing that has one, I'm alone & I don't have anything that needs my attention. I had planned on putting a tree up but I had to be away from home until now.

All I had to do was read "blacksmith" and I mentally heard (((ting))). I hear it from horses being shod not from someone being creative. Smiley_emoticons_wink
