The Bashara murder mystery...with a little S&M and bondage
Oh gawd what a complete idiot, did he really think he would get away with.... i guess so considering he actually did try to hire a hitman. Also make him look more guilty in having his wife killed too. Oh big bob, where's your 'D' cap
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Dominatrix claims in radio interview Bob Bashara and Joe Gentz had affair

Published: Monday, July 02, 2012

By MITCH HOTTS
For The Oakland Press

A Detroit-area dominatrix on Monday called a radio talk show to claim Bob Bashara had a “master-slave” sex relationship with the man accused of killing his wife, Mount Clemens native Jane Bashara.

Lady Geanna, who revealed Bashara’s ties to an alleged sex dungeon and sadomasochist lifestyle, told the Charlie Langton show on WXYT-AM (1270) that handyman Joe Gentz was Bob Bashara’s personal sex slave, who willingly did whatever Bashara told him to do, and the two had a written contract that spelled out the dynamics of their relationship, which involved “extensive role playing.”

“(Joe) would serve Bob in any way, shape or form that Bob wanted,” she said, according to the station’s website recording of her comments.

Asked by Langton whether Gentz would kill for Bashara, Lady Geanna said yes because Gentz — who court records say has emotional and psychological issues — did whatever he was told to do.

...

Bashara’s attorney said the dominatrix lacks credibility and is seeking media attention for financial reasons to talk about her “few seconds of fame.” He said Bashara has never met her and offered to take a polygraph exam to prove it.

“Bob Bashara doesn’t even know her yet she keeps managing to push her way in front of reporters and microphones and the end result is she’s making more money now than she ever has in her career,” Griem said. “Pretty soon only the National Enquirer is going to be reporting on this, that’s the depth we’ve sunk to on this case, which can only be described as the theater of the absurd.”

This past February, Lady Geanna told the radio station about the S&M dungeon located in the basement behind the Hard Luck Lounge on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Park. A few days later, the bar closed and the dungeon equipment was moved out.

Lady Geanna told the station on Monday that her information on the relationship between Bob Bashara and Gentz was based on discussions she has had with close to two dozen people in the underground S&M scene. She said Bashara would sometimes use Gentz in bondage demonstrations at slave parties.
She also said she’s received numerous threatening phone calls for publicly talking about Bashara.

Langton, a Sterling Heights attorney who hosts the morning radio talk show, said he believes the dominatrix is credible based on her past comments that turned out to be true.

“But from a legal standpoint, everything she said today should be viewed as hearsay,” he said.

“I think she does have a sense of what’s going on in the S&M industry. And I think it’s common knowledge that Bashara had at least one girlfriend, so if he was into the S&M or swingers scene, a master-slave relationship with Joe Gentz fits the mold.”

Lawyers dismiss sex-slave talk between Bob Bashara and Joe Gentz

July 3, 2012

Wayne
GROSSE POINTE PARK

Defense attorney Susan Reed said Monday that she knows of nothing to support speculation on a morning radio talk show that her client Joe Gentz was in a subservient relationship with Bob Bashara, whose wife Jane Bashara was killed in January.

"I have no information that tells me that Joseph Gentz was Bob Bashara's sex slave," Reed said.

Dominatrix Lady Geanna, who first exposed Bashara's alleged sex dungeon in Grosse Pointe Park, called the Charlie Langton Talk Radio 1270 show Monday, saying she received reports the two men were in a slave-master relationship.

The speculation is just the latest turn in the bizarre murder case. Gentz is charged with killing Jane Bashara in January after he told police he did so at her husband's behest. Last week, Bashara was arrested on charges of allegedly trying to hire a hit man to kill Gentz.

"Just when you think can't get more absurd, something like this comes along," Bashara's attorney David Griem said. "There's absolutely no truth to this."

Bashara has not been charged with his wife's death but has been called a person of interest and termed a suspect in court hearings.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -
A local dominatrix says the man charged in the murder of a Grosse Pointe woman was more than just an alleged hitman.

She goes by the name of Lady Geanna and she tells FOX 2 that dozens of S&M insiders say they've seen it first-hand and are convinced that Joe Gentz was Bob Bashara's sex slave.

"Bob would have a show. He would charge fees. There would be a show and Joe would be the one being worked over," says Lady Geanna. "He was whipping him, flogging him, candle wax poured on him."

Lady Geanna admits she's never actually seen the alleged sexual activities involving Bashara and Gentz and she's only spoken with Bashara once over the phone. But, she's sticking to her story. "I knew it all along that that's what was going on."

Bashara is accused of hiring Gentz earlier this year to kill his wife Jane. Now, he's behind bars for allegedly hiring another hitman to kill Gentz.

An attorney for Bashara did not return FOX 2's calls but has said the dominatrix is just trying to get a few seconds of fame.

Jane Bashara remembered as friend, volunteer, community booster

'Whatever she put her heart in, she put her full heart in'

By Francis X. Donnelly
The Detroit News

[Image: bilde?Site=C3&Date=20120709&Category=MET...ty-booster]

A month before she was killed, Jane Bashara was shopping in a drugstore when another customer tried to make a purchase with a welfare debit card. The sale didn't go through so Bashara, who didn't know the man, told the clerk to add his items to her bill, said the clerk, Debora Price. Typical Jane, said her friends.

If someone needed help, she didn't hesitate, they said. She was a whirlwind who threw herself into whatever she was doing — work, community service, raising a family or helping others.

A fixture in the Grosse Pointes, she invariably was the one in charge of a community project, bursting with ideas, happily encouraging cohorts with a constant smile.

"She was one of those people who could do it all," said Lori Bireta, 56, a longtime friend from Davison.

Bashara, a 56-year-old mother of two, was strangled in January. Two months later, handyman Joe Gentz was arrested after telling police he killed Bashara at her husband's behest.

In a bizarre twist in late June, husband Bob Bashara was charged with trying to hire someone to kill Gentz.

Expressing shock over the arrest of her husband, friends and family of Jane Bashara also talked about their memories of a woman who was so active she didn't belong to just one book club but three.

Whether making a new resident feel welcome or leading a campaign to retain a school millage, she leaped into the task.

"She fit a lot into every day," said a sister, Janet Gottsleben, 55, of Clinton Township. "Her calendars were full."

People had been drawn to Bashara her whole life, said friends.

Her smile never seemed to wane. When talking to someone, she was so immersed in what they were saying that she made them feel like the most important person in the world.

It's telling that, during interviews and comments on blogs since Bashara's death, several people labeled themselves her best friend.

They clicked right away

When Bashara was a student at Central Michigan University in the 1970s, one of her girlfriends received a prank call from a boy in the middle of the night. The girlfriend and boy began talking, hit it off and agreed to meet the next day.

Bashara was so worried about her friend meeting a stranger that, during the get-together, she hid around a corner in the dorm lounge. The friend, Ruann Marshall, who eventually married the boy, didn't know Bashara was watching over her until she told her later. "Whatever she did she embraced fully," said Marshall, 56, of Chesterfield Township. "Whatever she put her heart in she put her full heart in."

Bashara, a good student and athlete, studied business administration at Central Michigan and then University of Detroit Mercy. Around the time she received her master's from Detroit Mercy in 1983, she met Bob Bashara.

[Image: bilde?Site=C3&Date=20120709&Category=MET...0&Border=0]

The two clicked right away, Bob Bashara told "Dateline NBC" in May. He said he was attracted to her openness.

"She was outgoing, a go-getter," he said. "I just was attracted to her from the beginning."

For her part, she liked his affable nature and that he never was at a loss for words, said friends.

They were married within two years. Friends said they believed the 26-year marriage was a happy one. They were shocked by news reports, later confirmed by Bob Bashara, that he had a mistress.

He told a reporter that the couple had an open marriage, but his wife's siblings contested the point. They said in a statement that they doubted Jane Bashara would have stayed in such a marriage.

Most relatives, on both sides of the family, declined to be interviewed for this story.

In a recent court filing by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, Bob Bashara has been named a suspect in his wife's death. He has said repeatedly he had nothing to do with it.

A popular boss

One of the jobs Jane Bashara had while working for DTE Energy for 24 years was managing a 350-person call center.

She was a popular boss, said workers. They described her as personable, encouraging and generous with her time and praise.

After her death, testimonials from former employees filled a tribute page on a funeral home website.

"Jane always had a kind and encouraging word for everyone," wrote Peggy Willockx of Troy.

"She was so energetic buzzing around with a giant smile," wrote Rena Austin of Harper Woods.

She worked as hard in the community as on the job. At St. Michael's Episcopal Church, she was involved with the youth group. In the Grosse Pointe Park Little League, she and her husband started a concession stand in the late '90s that remains a major fundraiser today.

At Grosse Pointe South High School, she was an athletic booster, president of the band and athletic boosters, and head of the Mothers' Club, a parents group that raises money for scholarships and classroom expenses. During school events, she made sure volunteers felt appreciated. She circulated among them, asking about their children by name.

"She always had time for other people," said one of the volunteers, Jim Triano. "You liked volunteering because she was part of it."

If not working for the community, Jane Bashara was helping people individually.

When Triano's son wanted to transfer to Purdue University, Triano called Bashara because her son was a student there.

She spent hours telling the Trianos everything she knew about the school and walking them through the application process.

When the son was accepted, Bashara told him what he should do when he arrived on campus, what he should bring and places where he could live.

"It was like having a big brother," said Triano, 63, of Grosse Pointe Park. "She wanted him to know all the ins and outs." Even more remarkable, he said, was the fact that Bashara did all this for a casual acquaintance. "I might do that for my very best friend. We were someone she just knew," he said.

"But that's the way she was with everyone."

Joe Gentz ruled competent to stand trial in Bashara case, paving way for deal talks

7:00 PM, July 9, 2012

By Joe Swickard
Free Press Staff Writer

[Image: bilde?Site=C4&Date=20120709&Category=NEW...deal-talks]

A court-sanction independent evaluation found Joe Gentz, who told police he was hired by Bob Bashara to kill Bashara's wife, mentally competent to stand trial, defense attorney Susan Reed said today.

The finding echoes the results made by doctors at the state forensic center and clears the path for Reed to talk with prosecutors about a possible deal for Gentz.

Reed had refused to publicly discuss any possible deals as long as Gentz’s mental status — he has a reported IQ of 68 and emotional issues — was open to question.

“It was an issue that had to be put to rest,” Reed said. “That had to be answered before you can legitimately and legally start negotiations.”

Bob Bashara’s lawyer David Griem, who had long predicted Gentz would be lined up with prosecutors, feigned surprise.

“What shock,” Griem said.

“This whole thing has been a charade,” he said. “Those negotiations started months ago. I guess this is just some dramatic license for some lawyers.”

Griem said the two evaluations were choreographed and are the latest manifestation of the “unholy alliance” of Reed and prosecutors: “It’s all part of a long list of abuses starting with the investigative subpoenas and all the police leaks.”

Griem and Reed have been at odds for most of the investigation. She has asked for Griem to be held in contempt of court for issuing unauthorized subpoenas to gather evidence about her client.

Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office, declined comment but said the office’s attorneys will be in Detroit 36th District on Wednesday afternoon.

Gentz told Grosse Pointe Park police soon after Jane Bashara’s body was found Jan. 25 in her Mercedes Benz SUV ditched in an eastside Detroit alley that he killed the marketing executive at her husband’s direction. He gave varying accounts of the killing, including saying he crushed Jane Barasha neck with his foot because Bob Bashara had him at gunpoint.

A mentally incompetent witness would be of no value in a trial. Griem said Gentz’s worth as a witness has plummeted since his client was arrested for allegedly trying to hire a hit man to kill Gentz in jail.

Bashara has not been charged in connection with his wife’s slaying. He faces a possible life sentence for the alleged solicitation.

They are women who allegedly helped Bob Bashara explore his interest in S & M - former mistresses and who knew Bashara as Master Bob.

"Until I heard about the murder of Jane Bashara, I had never known Bob’s last name. Then the husband got on and I knew right away that was Master Bob."

Now these women have become part of the ongoing police investigation into the murder of Bashara’s wife Jane. Their wild stories are helping police lean more about Bashara.

"He just simply explained to us that he lived in the Pointes and that he does have a fully outfitted dungeon."

The Local 4 Defenders have learned Bashara reached out to these women several times recently via email. Even though their identities were concealed Bashara tracked them down and within the last two months was sending emails working to figure out who was talking with the media and what were these women telling police.

All this played out around the same time police say Bashara was allegedly working to find a hitman to kill handyman Joe Gentz. Those meetings took place behind a building he owed in Grosse Pointe Park. The emails, we're told, were sent from inside a local library.

Joseph Gentz's attorney and prosecutors are expected to start negotiating a plea agreement now that a court-approved independent evaluation deemed him competent to stand trial, echoing the results of an earlier evaluation by the state forensic center.

Attorney Susan Reed said the fact that Bob Bashara has been charged with attempting to have her client killed proves Gentz is credible. Gentz told authorities Bashara offered him money to kill Jane Bashara of Grosse Pointe Park in January. Gentz was charged with first-degree murder.

After his competency hearing in Detroit 36th District Court on Wednesday, Reed said Gentz had been worried Bob Bashara would try to harm him.

"And see what happens: Bob gets charged with trying to have him killed," Reed said.

Gentz would be willing to testify against Bob Bashara if Bashara is charged in his wife's killing, she said.

The two sides could strike a plea deal before Gentz's scheduled preliminary examination Aug. 13.

Gentz "is able to remember, his memory's good, he's able to function, you know, on his own, and he's able to listen to advice and that's what he's doing now," Reed said.

David Griem, Bashara's attorney, said the hearing Wednesday was part of "a slow-motion charade" to build a case against Bashara, who has been charged with soliciting someone to have Gentz killed. Bullshit

DETROIT (WWJ) – During a lengthy and contentious debate, Detroit Judge Kenneth King rejected attorney David Griem’s request to be removed from the PostsBob Bashara case.

King said Griem didn’t have cause to get out of the case after Griem refused to elaborate on the “breakdown” with his client. King suggested that Bashara hire a second – or even third attorney — to work with Griem to keep the case moving.

The judge said he was afraid a change in representation would unnecessarily delay the case. He added it wasn’t in Bashara’s best interest to change attorneys at this point. Griem argued it wouldn’t be fair for him to represent Bashara at an upcoming preliminary examination and then switch attorneys before trial.

“The point is your honor, I look at the preliminary examination as the foundation for trial,” Griem said. “I have things I do that other attorneys wouldn’t do and vice versa.”

King wasn’t convinced.

A handcuffed and disheveled Bashara said a few words during the hearing when the judge asked if he had the capability to hire another attorney. “Yes,” he said, adding, “I think I do.” He later argued with the judge about releasing Griem, saying he wants new representation.

“He has become a little less effective than I would have hoped he could be,” Bashara told the judge. “He’s a very accomplished attorney, but I feel that it’s important that I get the best possible representation given the circumstances.”
Griem said Bashara had new attorney interviews already set up for Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

At the request of Wayne County prosecutors, another hearing was for Friday to see if Griem violated a court order in disclosing certain material connected to the case to a member of Bashara’s family.

In a statement sent to WWJ Newsradio 950 Wednesday, Griem cited an “irreparable breakdown” in the relationship with his client. Griem said it would “serve no useful purpose” to reveal the reasons behind his withdrawal, saying it would only add to “the media feeding frenzy” that will make it difficult for Bashara to get a fair trial.

The judge said during Thursday’s hearing that Griem, who’s held several press events and given unusual statements, shouldn’t focus on the media.

Bashara is charged with trying to have his former handyman Joe Gentz killed after Gentz admitted to police he murdered Bashara’s wife Jane — allegedly at her husband’s behest.

The body of Jane Bashara, a marketing executive and mother of two, was found in the back of her Mercedes-Benz SUV parked in an alley at Pinewood and Annott in Detroit on Jan. 25.

Griem has withdrawn from a high-profile murder case before. He dropped defendant Stephen Grant before the Macomb County man, in 2007, was convicted of second-degree murder for killing and dismembering his wife, Tara.

So, which side wants to ditch the other in this case? Griem said the decision to part was mutual, though Bashara said in court he was worried about Griem’s reputation.”

“I don’t want to fire him in open court,” Bashara added.

Bob Bashara talked to the news media after his wife was strangled, and now his former attorney says Bashara wants to talk again -- this time to the 12 people who will hold his fate in their hands.

"I think that he's always had a desire to have his story be heard," David Griem said. "It's his intent to take the witness stand and tell his story."

Those comments came after Bashara made a brief court appearance Tuesday in the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit, where he is expected to stand trial on charges of attempting to hire someone to orchestrate a hit on Joseph Gentz. Gentz is charged in the killing of Bashara's wife, Jane Bashara, in January.

Prosecutors contend Bob Bashara of Grosse Pointe Park wanted to silence Gentz before the handyman could testify against him. Gentz told authorities he killed Jane Bashara at her husband's behest.

Bashara's scheduled arraignment Tuesday was adjourned until Aug. 7, when his new attorney Mark Kriger can appear in Wayne County Circuit Court.

Attorney David Griem said he will represent Bob Bashara during his preliminary examination today after a failed attempt by the attorney to withdraw last week.

Griem's motion to withdraw, along with fellow attorney Christina Utley, was denied by Chief Judge Kenneth King of 36th District Court in Detroit.

Bashara is accused of trying to hire someone to orchestrate a hit on Joseph Gentz, the man charged with murder and conspiracy in the January strangulation of Jane Bashara, Bob Bashara's wife.

Griem filed an emergency motion last week, saying there had been a breakdown in his relationship with Bashara. But King said Griem had not given a sufficient reason to withdraw.

"I have a duty as a lawyer when ordered by a court to conduct a preliminary examination despite a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship," Griem said Monday. "I have a duty to prepare myself for that preliminary examination and to go into court and do the very best job that I can."

Bashara also expressed a desire for a new attorney last week and told King he was able to hire someone. WDIV-TV (Channel 4) reported late Monday that Bashara hired attorney Mark Kriger, but the Free Press could not reach Kriger for confirmation.

Griem said earlier Monday that if Bashara hired a new lawyer, "I have no knowledge about that."

and Detroit News says Kriger WILL be representing him. hahaha

DETROIT (WJBK) -
Bob Bashara appeared in court with a new attorney as he was formally charged for solicitation of murder.

A reading of the charges was waived before a not-guilty plea was entered on Bashara's behalf Tuesday morning before Wayne County Circuit Judge Timoth Kenny.

This was the first time Bashara's new lawyer, Mark Kriger, appeared with his client. Former attorneys David Griem and Christina Utley removed themselves from the case last week.

Bashara faces up to life in prison as prosecutors say he tried to hire a hit man to kill Joseph Gentz, his wife's alleged murderer.

Gentz, who faces first-degree murder charges, says Bashara promised him cash to kill his wife Jane back in January.

Judge Kenny set Bashara's next court date for Aug. 17.

Joe Gentz remains locked up while he faces charges for his role in the murder of Grosse Pointe Park mother Jane Bashara.

The Local 4 Defenders have learned not only is a deal being worked out for Gentz but that it's almost a done deal.

"Realistically they are probably trying to work out a term of years and what the charge is that Mr. Gentz would plea to," said Local 4 legal expert Todd Flood. "If they're working out anything that would be it. That would be the crux of it."

Gentz's attorney, Susan Reed, said there have been negotiations but nothing has been finalized. Progress is being made.

Local 4 is told Gentz will likely be offered a reduced charge of 2nd degree murder which could mean a minimum of 20 years in prison. A key part of the deal is that Gentz will have to testify against Bob Bashara, who is charged with solicitation of murder after police investigators say he tried to have Gentz killed while behind bars. Bashara has pleaded not guilty to that charge.

"It's going to be a murder two, and it's going to be a lengthy term of years," said Flood. "(Gentz's) guidelines are probably going to be pretty high, and I would imagine, quite frankly, that he's going to be in prison for quite some time."
