How come they don't have co-ed stuff at their ages User? Our middle school starts having dances in 6th grade.

Thing 2 has had several girlfriends. Thing 1 is more picky and I think more shy when it comes to that. But they both talk about girls all. the. time.

There are no dances at my kids middle school for any grades other than 8. The kids are required to dress up to attend, you may not bring a date and no one other than eighth graders are allowed to attend. My oldest went to one last year and couldn't wait to leave and they didn't allow kids to leave early unless their parents came in to get them. He said it was all kids just standing around in groups talking about the kids in the other groups. No one danced bc they were afraid they'd get in trouble for dancing with someone of the opposite sex.
Just shut up. Just shut the fuck up right now.

Make sure your parents don't suspect that you're doing the devil's fancy footwork. Just one more secret to conceal. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Too late. That secret is out. They disapprove but at most call my dance style "silly" and let me keep on dancing.

Glad they're cool with it. Silly is good.

I just learned recently that the Footloose story was actually based on a religious town in Oklahoma where dancing had been outlawed for 90 years before some teenagers protested. Weird.
