Steubenville, OH Gang Rape Case
I hate everything about this case. Disturbing on many levels. Here's the latest.

Snipped:
Two juvenile girls have been arrested for allegedly threatening the victim in the Steubenville, Ohio, teen rape case.

Steubenville's WTOV9 reported that the two juveniles made the alleged threats on social media websites. According to WTOV9, they face aggravated menacing charges.

Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla told CNN that one of the girls threatened to beat the victim, and another threatened to kill her.

I'm glad they were arrested! Make an example of them.

Life is going to be hell for her in that town. I hope she has a good support system.

I have a friend of a friend that's kid goes to this school. According to the daughter of the friend of friend, it was common knowledge that you go to these parties to get drunk and you risk this happening to you. Again this is heard 3th party.

Having said that, I have never told anyone this, but something similar happened to me when I was a freshman in high school111 . I knew if I drank too much there was a chance of this happening but geez it *could* (and did) happen with the popular jocks. I am thankful I realized after that one time of it happening to ME, I knew not to get in that position again. And yes, I kept my mouth shut when it happened to others---because again I knew what the likeliness of this happening was, just like they did. I am in no way defending the rapists and hope and pray this case being out in the open brings to light what happens in so many high schools.

And I hope that PARENTS will better prepare their MALE and FEMALE children of what is unacceptable and how they must be accountable for their every move from day 1.

I am incredibly sad tonight for all involved.

I think posted a thread once about "do you ever blame the victim"? What was done to this girl was just WRONG but if I were her I'd be thinking I probably shouldn't get that drunk in the future.

I agree but, am still wondering if she was "ruphied". I know they were unable to prove this because by the time that allegation was made, there was no way to detect it in her system. I am just baffled by how incoherent she was. On the Alexis Goddard blog, when this case first blew up, there were a lot of Steubenville locals who were commenting anonymously stating that this was definitely a regular occurance. They stated they knew girls who had this happen to them at previous parties but, were too afraid to report it. They also stated that the "rape crew - Mays, Richardson and more (including the 3 witnesses who were granted immunity for testimony) known to "ruphie" girls in order to have their "fun". The victim in this case was handed a drink immediately after getting in the car with the convicted. I know this doesn't change the fact that the victim WAS already drinking but, it would answer the question of how she became so incoherent so quickly and was so incoherent that she did not snap out of it when they began to penetrate her.

I don't think the convictions so far will be the end of this & that's a good thing -

The coach to the two footballers convicted in the Ohio rape trial may face charges for his failure to report the crime committed by his two star players.

Head Coach Reno Saccoccia's conduct in the scandal that has overwhelmed the town of Steubenville will be scrutinized as part of a Grand Jury investigation.

State Attorney General Mike DeWine yesterday announced his intention to convene a Grand Jury on April 15 to further investigate the case that led to the convictions of quarterback Trent Mays, 17, and wide receiver Ma'lik Richmond, 16. He stated: 'We cannot put this to bed. We cannot bring finality to this without the convening of the grand jury.'

Sixteen people refused to co-operate with investigators and among the possible crimes under the grand jury's scrutiny will be failure to report a felony, failure to report child abuse and obstruction of justice.

They should definitely put the fear of God into all the assholes that were there (some filming) who didn't intervene.

I hope the coach loses his job, his family, and his anal virginity in prison.

He's known for years what 'his boys' have been doing.

Thanks for the update Duchess! here's a bit more on this coach, I think he's a THUG IMO and I'm not happy with the Sheriff either down there. Mike DeWine has his hands full!! It's a disgrace to our beautiful country what is going on down there.

Why Does Steubenville's Football Coach Still Have His Job?

Reno Saccoccia is a local legend, in the way that 30-year coaches of football powerhouses in economically depressed Ohio Valley towns tend to be legends. He's in the Ohio Coaches Hall of Fame. He's won three state titles. When Saccoccia won his 300th game last year, a sellout crowd of more than 10,000 people packed Harding Stadium—christened "Reno Field" in 2007—and chanted "Reno, Reno, Reno" as he left the field.

He breakfasts regularly with the sheriff. His sister-in-law works in the county's juvenile court, where he is licensed as a mediator. He "molds young boys into men." So how did Saccoccia react when he got word that two of his young boys were accused of raping a passed-out student?

"When confronted on his role in the allegations, Saccoccia got in a reporter's face. “You’re going to get yours," he growled. "And if you don’t get yours, somebody close to you will.""

You're right . . . that screams thug.

It's the same type of threat language used repetitively throughout the damned Justice for Johnny and Lisa fb page.

DMP, thanks for this report above, if a date rape drug was used, the investigators should uncover that.

Mike DeWine, Ohio Attorney General has called for a Grand Jury, and I will attach a line to the newspaper at Steubenville. In that article they have the BCI involved and they interviewed 27 coaches, I cannot figure out why so many coaches? I hope someone can explain this one!

Lastly this snippet from the article:-

"What's even more shocking and appalling is that crimes of sexual assault are occurring every Friday night and every Saturday night in big and small communities all across this country. And there comes a point, where we must say, 'Enough. This has to stop,'" DeWine said.

If the girls don't speak up nothing can be done. The girl in this story never would have said anything if it hadn't been all over the internet, she just wanted it to go away.

I don't think they came forward until at least 3 days after the incident. I don't know if they tested her blood or how long it would remain in her system. If they don't have a blood test, they'd have to find some proof that the boys possessed the drug and gave it to her. Might not be easy to do.

This is what I've read too. It is not like other drugs that can be detected in hair months after use. Because it metabolizes so quickly, it never makes it to the hair shaft.

I knew someone who was 'ruphied'. She was NOT raped or anything horrific but, she did report that approximately 20 minutes after ingesting the laced drink is when her memory lapse begins. The loss of memory continues up through the next morning when she awoke in her own bed, undressed and in night clothes. She remembers absolutely nothing from that evening.

When I first read the story of this girl, her lack of knowledge about any of this happening struck a cord right away. I remember being a teenager and drinking too much and sadly a few times as an adult too but, I can promise you that no matter how wasted I was, 2 boys/men penetrating my vagina would've sobered me up real quick. As a matter of fact, I remember instances as a teen when a boy that I did not have any interest in tried to kiss me. It took all of 2 seconds to snap out of it and let him know that he needed to get his tongue away from my face.

Am I wrong? Do you women feel the same?....That you would come to if you were being penetrated, no matter how messed up you were?

When they dosed me with Versed before popping my arm back into its socket, I was quoting lines from "Borat", mumbling about "making romance hand" and "sexy time".

When I came to, my brothers and the medical staff were still laughing and drying their eyes.

Don't remember a thing and never felt a thing.

See, my point exactly. You were drugged. Do you think that you could ever be so drunk on alcohol that the same would happen? This is why I tend to believe the "ruphie" rumors - her complete lack of memory of anything for a large block of time screams to me that she was drugged along with having consumed alcohol.

On another note, I apparently bugged out on a nurse for only giving me broth after my appendectomy. I was starving and of course they wouldn't give me any solid food for 24 hrs after the surgery so, she offered me soup broth. I was psyched for this 'soup' until she brought me a styrofoam dixie cup of piss broth and no spoon. Apparently I drilled her about how she thought this was substantial nutrients. How did she eat her soup....did she use a spoon?.....Did she think it might've been a good idea to give the still drugged up girl a spoon with her scalding hot dixie cup of broth? Total bitch I was to that nurse and had no recollection of it until she asked me the next morning how my broth had been with a smirk on her face. She proceeded to tell me the whole story....I was mortified.
