I don't put a whole lot into polys either, I have seen people who were totally innocent fail and people who were totally guilty pass, guess that's why they are inadmissible in court. I guess cops just use it as a tool because it can indicate deception with some people...I just don't think they are that reliable.

Trust me, most kids do not go to their parents, that is almost the last place they go, which is sad, because parents would help in anyway they could, but most times parents are not the first avenue young adults go down. I would love to believe that they would, like Maytee, but I know better because I am a parent of 2 young adults. I don't think they thought they were in any danger either, JC trusted his neighborhood friends, and maybe he mentioned a safe and maybe he didn't mention a safe, but to some of his old neighborhood buddies JC was dating a girl from "rich ville" and now he was even living in "rich vill"...

It is very telling. I use to live in the old southend & we called all of the girls from the nicer neighborhoods who came to party on our side of town "Rich girls" because to us they were! LOL we didn't have inground pools & tennis courts in our backyard. If you're from Toledo go take a drive around the old southend.... Western, Broadway, South st & then drive back into the neighborhoods off of those main streets. THEN go drive through Springfield & notice the difference. To us, they were rich, compared to what we had & what kind of enviroment we were living in.

I agree 100%, I grew up on the westside of Chicago and nobody had any pools, lol, it was the local park pool for us, everybody we knew lived in apartments just about, if you had a house even your were upscale, lol! The suburbs always seem way more "rich" to us city kids too. What did we know about loans and mortgages and such, we didn't know that people were in debt for these things, we just thought Wow, they're loaded!! Same mentality here.

I agree that Johnny and Lisa trusted these people, but it still says something about the company they keep. The people I allow in my life don't have criminal histories. I get that they trusted them, but seriously, can you really be that surprised when they openly talk about robbing people or beating people on public social networking sites? Doesn't make the crime any less heinous but it isn't as if they hung around with upstanding citizens.

Good point. I grew up in the subarbs, in a house bigger than the straubs, and to me "richville" was the mansions in Ottawa Hills lol It's all perspective I guess. I did party in Toledo some and can remember being referred to as "the rich bitches", you girls from Toledo didn't give us a chance!

I agree, but when your raised in an area, and these are your friends in grade school, middle school and growing up, it's very hard to shake, I have seen this within my own family with my sister's one son, no matter what she did, he would go back to the friends in the old neighborhood, some were great kids no matter what environment they grew up in but others turned out to be straight up criminals, but to him they were his friends and that loyalty almost killed him...

oh I absolutely believe it! I am local, born and raised in a perfect little bubble in the suburbs...BUT, I work right in the thick of these neighborhoods... i see these neighborhoods and the people up close and personal... The Straub's neighborhood is VERY nice. so if we frame our point of reference as one of the south enders (broadway, south, western) it's VERY VERY VERY nice. rich bitches :B

Agreed. I've just started working downtown, which IMO is even worse than the south end and I am learning I really REALLY lived in a sheltered bubble

For me it does, just a few hours before this happens, too coincidental as far as I'm concerned...The people in those new year's eve party pictures, take a good look at those, the ones VD's girlfriend posted, they are all connected...

I would bet they may even know who probably could have done this, it's not secret to them, but to get them to go to the cops, lot's of luck, ain't gonna happen... friends from the "neighborhood" code of silence, you break it, your a snitch, even if it's the right thing to do!

That VD's girl, I thought maybe her because she looks like a baby getting mixed up with vipers, but now she has a whole new FB page, what's weird is she never, ever mentions Lisa anymore...On her info page she says she has 2 angels in heaven and Lisa isn't one of them, just seems weird, it's like she completely dropped saying anything about Lisa, like she's disconnecting Johnny from Lisa too, weird.
She and Tiffany both removed LS off their friend list. I know LS is gone but many of the people on her friend list still have her as a friend...just kind of weird especially it just shows that they really didn't consider Lisa to be one of them...
