Do you give your mail carrier and trash man gifts? I usually give cash, but I read the postal service isn't allowed to take cash or gift cards (so what has been happening to the cash I give? dunno). I was thinking maybe McDonald's gift cards so they could get coffee. Or maybe just cash again. I wouldn't take food from someone I don't know, so that's out.

I don't give them shit. I usually run in the house when I hear the trash men coming so I can avoid their dirty looks. I gave all my Christmas donations to St. Judes, I'm done.

Her diapers really don't stink yet, they're still cute little poops. It's mostly the beer bottles and dog shit that pisses them off.

I stick one of those chocolate orange things in my mailbox for the postal worker and since I live in an apartment, I've never considered giving the trash guys anything but my trash. I should probably drop something off in the front office for the management though.

That's not my department but I think I've heard it said that the trash guy gets a bottle of "something"...a "something" with alcohol content.

I don't give either one anything. Never have. That's probably bad but they get paid for doing their jobs just like everyone else. Why do I need to tip them? The freakin garbage dude rides around in the truck that has the automatic arms that come out and pick up the cans anyway. It's not like they have to get out and dump them in like the old days. As for the postman? Ah yea no. One of my injured people is a postal worker that was hurt on the job so I am paying part of her wages. She makes twice what I make!! Driving around in a fucking truck putting crap in the mailbox and she makes a boatload.

Hey, I give the trash people my trash and recycles neatly sorted, packaged and not stinky every Monday morning. WTF more do they need?
As for the mail carrier..he does not even show up with my mail until about 5 or 6 PM these days..nothing. BAH HUMBUG

Thanks for the input. I think ramsey ruined my postal worker's Christmas, but the trash guys are still in the loop. I think cash. My trash guys still pick up the container by hand, so they deserve a token amount. They can buy lunch on Cracker.

I know people get paid for their jobs, but a little appreciation goes a long way. Hauling trash is a shitty job and I'm glad somebody decides to do it so I don't have to go to the dump myself. The dump stinks. And flies try to get in your car. Eff that.
