walking while black - Trayvon Martin
(03-29-2012, 04:53 AM)cannongal Wrote: There's a reason the sign on the bank door says "remove hats, sunglasses, and hoods before entering".

Yup, it's there. I've never removed my sunglasses, taken my hat off or pushed my hoodie back. The day they personally request that to me will be the day I remove every last dime from that fuckin' bank and they won't be too damn happy when I ask my man to do the same. You might be willing to tolerate that but I'm not. NO ONE tells me what I can wear. They'll never say that to my face, CG because I'm pretty & I'm white, they wouldn't dare.

Stuck up, much?

Don't worry, pretty little white girl, I'm sure no one would dare incur your wrath by asking to see your whole face while doing business with them.

I didn't say anyone had to tolerate it, I said there is a reason for it. You mean to tell me you would not be the slightest bit nervous when a few people with partially covered faces walk into the store or bank you in? You don't take note of people around you when a teller is handing you a big wad of cash?

...and THAT'S all you got from my post? 78

Stuck up, maybe, it's not like I lied or embellished. So what if I'm a snob? *shrugs*

Given you edited your post I had to come back & take care of this.

Nope, never bothers me, not a bit and I do see it from time to time.

I rarely, if ever, have removed money from the bank, it's a personal rule of mine, I deposit only.

I don't live in fear, I go where I want, when I want, dressed the way I want and while I do judge those wearing pajama pants in public I don't make assumptions when I see blacks with their hoods up.

Children don't fear fire, until they are burned. Woman don't fear men until they are raped or beaten.

It's nice that you have no fear of people right now, you remind me of the idealistic HS Grad who thinks they can change the world.

Fear is a learned reaction-and if this cluster fuck of a situation explodes into a Nation wide riot?

That Walgreen's in Florida? What if that happened at your favorite wine shop, while you were picking up a bottle of merlot to go with your fish and chips?

Do you think you would still be fearless?

The old bald guy I married says more or less the same thing-Even if the EMT's treated Zimmermen, he would have had bandages/dried blood on him-The EMT's don't give you a spongebath.

After watching the video of Zim being brought into the station, it most certainly does not seem like a man who was beaten bloody at all. Where is the hurt guy who just had to shoot the person busting his nose and smashing head against the ground? He got out of the car and walked like he just got out of a movie theater. No medical attention given or requested at the scene, no sign of anything.

IMO-The way it's adding up is Zimmerman, made a habit of snooping and intrusive spying. Knowing his behaviour was offensive and may result in a confrontation he took along some deadly force to bolster himself and reinforce his resolve. I think he got off on spying and stalking others and intimidating them. IMO he could have as easily been a criminal, he had a twisted mind.

I see things a little differently, I guess: http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2012/...disruptors

I have heard every excuse in the book. After a few years, it all sounds like blah, blah, blah. Either do a good job with your kids or expect bad shit to happen. It is really that simple.

What does that have to do with this kid?

No, the kid wasn't home in his room writing "I will not bring empty pot bags to school" a thousand times, but he wasn't exactly running the streets either. He was only yards away from his father's girlfriends house when he was shot and killed by some guy whose story doesn't even add up.

I look back at the B T K killer and see he was a deacon at his church, a code enforcement officer, and a respected member of the community all the while his secret life included murder.

good, they're suing spike lee's dumb black ass Asshat
he was essentially promoting vigilante "justice".

A couple who say they were forced to leave their home after director Spike Lee retweeted their address to his Twitter followers has hired the Morgan & Morgan law firm to represent them.

"At this point, they have retained us to protect their interests" and their safety, attorney Matt Morgan said of Elaine and David McClain, an elderly Sanford couple in their 70s.

The couple's address was tweeted by a man who thought he had uncovered the address of George Zimmerman.

The problem is, the address does not belong to Zimmerman but to the McClains, who have a son named William George Zimmerman who lived there in 1995 and still lives in Central Florida.

He is no relation to George Zimmerman.

After Lee's retweet, the couple's other son says, the McClains have been forced to flee their home and live in a hotel given the rapidly spreading threats of violence against the real Zimmerman.

"At this point, they've had to move out of their home and their lives have been upended," Morgan said.

Morgan declined Wednesday to discuss any possible future litigation on the couple's behalf.

"The first thing they're hoping for is an apology and a retraction by Spike Lee," Morgan said, adding that the couple hope their story can help "heal the divide between the white and black community."

About 10 p.m. Wednesday, Lee tweeted his regrets.

"I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain's In Peace. Justice In Court," Lee wrote.

The New Black Panther Party has issued a “dead or alive” bounty for Zimmerman’s capture. Its value was originally $10,000. On Wednesday that amount was increased dramatically to $1 million.

Can't someone be arrested and prosecuted for soliciting murder or inciting violence?

Z: arrested and prosecuted for soliciting murder or inciting violence?

yes they can. and if someone takes out zimmerman, there will be charges for those people soliciting murder.
incitement is a different charge, and can be pursued as well.

some jurisdiction is going to have to pursue those offenses. and should.

This whole thing is out of control. It's not even about a kid that got shot by a neighborhood watch guy anymore.

It has become more than the murder of Trayvon. It has become the call for justice for all. Even a black kid walking through a gated community. Zimmerman did not look like he had been in fight for his life. I'm thinking that Zimmerman might have pulled his weapon on Trayvon to hold him until police arrived? Or maybe even yelled "help, help" like a pussy to justify what he did? Which was shoot Trayvon dead. Trayvon was found face down in the grass. I can't figure that one out.

Which side had the entrance wound? That's a little more important.

Did you read the report (as valid as any others at this point) that he was caught at school with women's jewelry and a screwdriver? Because life is funny. It will fuck you the time you weren't breaking into a house even if you got away with it last time.

The worst comment I have read so far: "Don't bring Skittles to a gun fight." hahahaha

Nobody knows what happened at this point. Save the riots and indignation until after the trial. As long as a grand jury has been convened, the purpose of the marches has been fulfilled. Anything past that is assholiness.

Yeah, I have learned a bit about Karma from Maytee la Cubana Vasquez. But, our Justice System is here on Earth!
And I think Zimmerman is a sick evil selfish coward sewer rat. And he needs to drop for the count.

I halfassed watched an interview last night with the shooters brother. He actually had the gall to say if any of the people who heard his brothers calls for help had responded George wouldn't have had to shoot the kid. I didn't like his comment because I thought it was thinly disguised as blaming the people who wouldn't come outside their homes. He also couldn't explain why George didn't appear to have been in a fight for his life.
