My furnace was short cycling for only 60 seconds yesterday so I put my tester on the high limit switch because thats what goes first and found that it was junk so I by passed it to at least get heat and my blower motor went. I took it out and after a bunch of tries finally got the allen screw out that holds it on the shaft.
I figured I could just call my tech at work and give him a 20 spot to come in and cross referance my Ducane with a rheem and maybe get a a universal that had all the wires but you only used the ones that you needed for your furnace. I called him up and he lives out in the woods where cell phones do not work I had his landline phone but cannot find it. Now I have to drive 30 miles and go pounding on his house to get him to come back with me and fire up his computer to get the right crossover blower model so I can have heat again.
Merry fucking Christmas Maggot.

Consider yourself lucky on a couple different levels. You actually know what you're doing & you don't have to get a professional that will cost an arm and a leg.

I'm heading out and I hope his dog is not on the loose. That thing scares me, it growles, barks then goes full bore at you until he stops 12 inches away just barking. Its a doberman/ greyhound cross. The thing is huge.

Maggotyboo where are you? You were going out into the wilderness & there was a mad dog too & then a freak winter storm approached and you were almost buried out upon the frozen tundra, quick thinker and boyscout that you are you quickly rubbed two twigs together and proceeded to send smoke signals to your pal Pete who, guided by the North star , rode in on his 1974 Evinrude snowmobile to save the day. Whew...now you're sitting in the bosom of your family. Thanks, Pete!

Last Christmas I was dog sick when my furnace died I fixed it and sick as all hell opened presents on Christmas day. It snowed that week and as I had the entire week off laid in bed along with my wife who was also sick as we listened to my kids play with toys. We took shifts sitting on the couch feeling miserable. Until I forced her to go to the doctors and get medicine for the respitory ailment that we both shared. Oh! I almost forgot.......We shoveled out the day after it snowed I could only muster 15 min of shoveling with her falling at 10 min.
Needless to say it was the very worst Christmas I ever had and ranks right up there with the time I hitchhiked home from Boston when I was 16 on Christmas eve because I spent my bus fare on 2 joints that turned out to be Oregano from a smelly black guy in the commons.
Sorry for the flashback but I am scanning my old unanswered threads. Beware.

You forced her?? Please tell me how you accomplished that. I imagine "begged her" is closer to the truth.
