It's being reported that the shooters in Vegas put swastikas on the cops they murdered and that a customer who was carrying a concealed weapon confronted the man in Wal-Mart but didn't see the female who then shot him.

I don't think these two sound mentally unstable or on drugs or anything. They just believed in something different from a lot of people. My best friend, kid I grew up with, is a PA State Trooper. He puts the uniform on knowing that there's people in this country that would kill him just for wearing it.

All people who go out intent on taking lives in a non-war environment believe in something different than almost everybody else.

I wish your best friend didn't have to face the reality that he's a moving target to some, but it's good that he does.

I often think about how hard the worry must be for the families of police officers, especially those in high-crime areas. Truth is, police officers getting shot simply because they're police officers can and does happen in any type of locale. It's a messed up reality and I admire the good cops who take that risk to keep the peace (and their loved ones).

Police are at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, where gunshots have reportedly been fired, according to a law enforcement source.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s officials confirmed Tuesday this is now being confirmed as an active shooter incident.

Multiple agencies are responding. Close to 100 police and sheriff’s units are on scene, as well as at least 19 medical personnel and FBI. A LifeFlight helicopter landed in a nearby field.

Parents began arriving at the school around 8:45 a.m., despite officers requesting they stay away for the moment.

About 2,800 students attend the school.

Hell, I couldn't stay away if my child was in that school either. That would be torture! Although, if he was texting me and I knew he was safe I might be more likely to stay away but as close as I could be until the scene was controlled.

I was just reading a live blog that said there were 3 shooters at the high school, 2 fled the scene and one was caught at a church. 2 deaths.

There is a tweet saying the shooter was dressed all in black wearing a bullet proof vest & helmet, carrying an AR-15. It's said this info came from a police "source" so...

I just watched the press conference on CNN. CNN/police are reporting the shooter is dead and one student is dead. The shooter was a student. Waiting on CNN to update the website and I'll post the link.

I read that this is the 74^th school shooting since Sandy Hook.

Thats pretty damn sad! Home school is sounding better and better everyday. Although, I think all children need peer interaction but damn.

Yeah, but how many of those 'school shootings' are one violent kid at a bad/dangerous school shooting a specific person they don't like? There's a difference between a murder case and a random massacre. Some schools are just dangerous.

I don't know, they didn't differentiate but I do agree there is a difference.

Very few of those are school shootings in the last 10 years. The Newtown one was the only one I saw that wasn't a university shooting.
