BITCHFEST -- THE EXTREMISTS ON THE FAR LEFT AND FAR RIGHT
#1
Some of the antics of extreme liberals and extreme conservatives annoy the hell outta me.

Liberals who can't take a non-PC joke, who go apeshit over what they consider demeaning Halloween costumes, who demand apologies for benign statements from public figures where there was clearly no intent to offend...

Conservatives who refuse to respect/enforce the law because they contend God doesn't want them to do so, who try to ram their beliefs/lifestyles down everyone else's throats, who chastise people up and down for certain conduct whilst doing the same or worse themselves, who expect all Americans to embrace their desire to move socially backwards to the 1950s...

We've posted stories exemplifying both sets of extremists here in various threads; this is a catch-all thread for such stories. Post 'em if you see 'em.

This story didn't surprise me, but does disappoint me. Too many college and university campuses are plagued with intolerant extreme liberalism, in my opinion.

Campuses used to be a setting for learning, debate, and exposure to diversity in backgrounds and beliefs. If I wasn't interested in a topic or a speaker, I simply didn't attend if it wasn't required.

I fully support and respect students' rights to peacefully protest white supremacists making speeches on their campuses; I don't agree with the ignorant rhetoric of white supremacists either. But, the extremists who resort to setting fires and inflicting violence are fucking stupid and counter-productive.

This week, Professor Allison Stanger was escorting controversial author Charles Murray (both pictured above) off the Middlebury campus in Vermont. He's the author of The Bell Curve, which contends that blacks are inferior to whites due to genetics.

Hundreds of students and 'outside agitators' were protesting Murray's lecture. When Professor Stanger was escorting him off campus, some of the protesters pulled her hair so forcefully her neck was seriously injured, then they threw a stop sign at Murray's vehicle as he was pulling off campus.

I'd have either skipped Murray's speech, or attended it and trolled the shit outta him with challenging questions (respectfully enough, of course).

Even smart liberal comedians like Bill Maher and Chris Rock, along with more conservative comedians like Larry the Cable Guy, refuse to perform at universities these days; the audiences are too easily offended by jokes that don't cater to their sensitivities or political beliefs. It's a sorry state of affairs.

I thought the uproar over Kellyanne's feet tucked under her in the Oval Office was pretty ridiculous. It's not the position I would have chosen in that situation but, whatever...

Someone suggested her legs had been lost in the Bowling Green Massacre. 113

At first, I was going to tell you that I wasn't going to dumb down my response so you'd find it more easily understood but then I thought there was a possibility you could be sensitive and easily offended so I changed my mind. I'll protect you from the big, bad, snarky words, sweetheart. Mark, it was a business meeting with high profile leaders of black colleges, I would have remained on my feet or sitting with my feet on the floor.

Yes some amount of decorum should be displayed for any and all dignitaries by WH staff and or personnel. Kellyanne looked like a tennie bobber listening to records.hah

Smiley_emoticons_smile That's a perfect analogy.

I wasn't offended, nor at this point surprised, by her lack of decorum. She lost respectability and credibility with me weeks ago. When I first saw the teenybopper photos, they struck me as saying, "look at me boss, I'm a rebel ignoring the establishment protocols again!" Yawn.

I haven't watched the full episode yet, but see that the teenybopper photos were a running gag on SNL last night, with Kate McKinnon's Kellyanne Conway featured in a red dress, on her knees, in the background of a bunch of skits.

I watched a clip of the Cold Open skit this morning; McKinnon impersonating Jeff Sessions in Forrest Gump mode was really funny; the teenybopper photos make a quick appearance.

I did enjoy the photos out of Berkeley of the MAGA hats burning. That was cool. the dailycal was on it. However, my daughter, who works at the dailycal and lives in Berkeley, would agree with you.

Well, that's Kellyanne, it's who she has become. She's already sacrificed her credibility so what's a little poor etiquette. Some think it was blown out of proportion and compare her doing that to what Obama is doing in this pic. What do you think?

He's sitting at his own desk with four dudes in the room. She's sitting on the couch in a room full of people making a goddamn spectacle of herself giving everyone pussy shots. It's a big difference to me.

Yeah, because there's never a professional photographer around when you need one in the White House.

Oh wait.........nevermind -- a professional photographer took the photo of her in photo-taking position.

What did you think of the Sessions/Gump skit? I thought it was pretty smart and funny satire and a great impersonation by Kate McKinnon. She's really something.

I thought it was great, it was one of the first things I saw early this morning. I looked for it right away. I think Kate is brilliant and Octavia with the pie at the end was hysterical. Anyone who saw The Help will surely get it.

Actually, the burning of hats/symbols doesn't bother me at all and can be enjoyable to watch. Light them up in protest and then put them out -- no problem.

But breaking bookstore windows, setting campus property on fire, assaulting teachers and Republican students.........that's stupid and annoying shit that often detracts from the message of the legitimate protesters.

Oh sure, that's a perfectly reasonable answer for giving a room full of black people crotch shots. How else are you supposed to take the picture.

I have a very relaxed relationship with my boss, it's more than employer/employee, I love her but I wouldn't dream of doing that in any business meeting. I think she knew she could get away with it and did it simply because she could, I wouldn't be surprised to learn she's fucked trump at least once.
