There's a lady in one of my canning groups that just asked how to can water. She said she lived in Florida and all the bottled water is sold out of the stores already. I would have thought that most Floridians would keep a rotating stockpile of bottled water during hurricane season..

6 cases of spring water here, plus 2 Brita filter pitchers filled to the top.
And will fill bathtub when storm starts, to flush bowls when needed.
Have lots of food that doesn’t need refrigeration or heat.
2 Battery lanterns, (lots of extra batteries) 2 oil lamps , 3 flashlights
Car Full tank gas tank, have 12v plug in charging cables for cell phones.
Have 12v adaptor to 120v for electric razor.
Hopefully, none of those supplies will be needed to be used.

I don't know why these assholes buy up all the water when a hurricane is coming. The hurricane comes and goes and there is water and food to be found after. You dont need 1000 cases of it. It's like when they bought up all the toilet paper with covid. I always have water regardless, I get the crystal springs water delivery.

In NE, after a surprise early major snow/ice storm electric power was out for going on 5-1/2 days.
It was a wicked windy 15 to 20 friggin degrees! We froze our butts off all that time. Every couple hours,
we opened the garage door a couple feet and started the car and blasted the heater for like 15 minutes.
It was miserable! It seemed like an eternity!
At least here if the electric power goes out, we have battery hand held fans, and just lay low.
And again, if needed we can go in the car and blast the A/C for 15 minutes.

After Hurricane Charley we didn't have power for over a week. It was so freaking hot so I slept in my car with the dog with the AC running. He was a newfoundland and they don't do well with heat.

Yeah, when I walked him people would stop their cars thinking that I was walking a bear. He was a gentle giant with people and small animals, but didn't do well with other male, large dogs. He got into a ferocious fight with a German Shepard at the dog park once and people were actually screaming and crying. They fought it out and both got a few scratches, but everyone was acting like he just ate a fucking poodle.

That same newfoundland got out and decided to go for a stroll right in the middle of Hurricane Charley. I went out after him in the pitch dark and lucky we didn't get blown away and killed. The next morning there was so much debris you couldn't even drive down the street.

Not yet. But when I do, I'm going to Facebook Live it, like one of my friends did to hilariously horrible puking results. If not that, I hear they also have a spicy Death Nut challenge with increasing levels of spicy nuts.

I see people talk about that shit on the local board and they don't like it when pet owners can't control their dogs and take them out in public anyway.

That's sounds interesting. How long were you there? Did you mind the cold? Would you go there again?

I've never been to a dog park, but I think I'd be uncomfortable around a bunch of strange dogs.
I love all animals, when the hell did I turn into such an old fartknocker. Damn.

The little dog side was even uncomfortable. I took poor Max over there and he got beat up by a gang of chihuahuas.

Someone gave me some European cookies today. I am both happy...and not happy. I love European cookies and only ever eat them during the holiday season. That might be the only time they are available.

Are those the cookies in the blue tin?
Some relatives were talking about steak tartare and I've never heard of it, anyone here have it?
